Chapter 102: Chapter 31: Poison Blast Rolling! And It’s a Speed-Up Airdrop! _3

The bullets from Night Wanderer rained down on the car like a torrential storm. If it weren’t for one side of the car body being temporarily reinforced to 40mm yesterday, the six of them might already have been shot to pieces.

Even so, they ended up having to imitate the African brothers, holding their guns above their heads to fire randomly. This is a kind of suppressive fire commonly used in urban warfare—firing without revealing any part of your body when you know the enemy’s position. The truth is, it’s rare to actually face the enemy directly and have a shootout; otherwise, it wouldn’t take thousands or even tens of thousands of rounds to claim a single life.

Unless everyone is a Rambo, it’s hard to even trade one for one.

The frustrated and suppressed soldier angrily shouted in the channel,

"Damn it, where is your support, Potato? Can you guys even play? I can barely lift my head! For fuck’s sake, provide some suppressive fire! These oil-stealing motherfuckers are even tougher than those smuggling big-fly pilots!"

Among them, he was the best shot, having taken down one Night Wanderer, although this guy seemed accustomed to only using a pistol.

Of course, they weren’t the only ones fighting—just this group of decoys.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of rapid shots rang out from behind the tanker, silencing the vehicle-mounted machine gun. The machine gunner was hit twice in the back, lying motionless on the gun mount.

"Enemies at the back!"

Upon hearing gunfire from behind the tanker, several Night Wanderers immediately turned around to organize a defense. Submachine guns blazed, forcing Lin Miao and Lucy to retreat. However, from the high slope on the left, powerful machine gun fire also erupted.

"They’re here! Why the hell are you so anxious!"

The sudden barrage took down three or four unprepared Night Wanderers on the spot.

"Haha! Die, all of you!"

Gigant and Potato, who had long been lying in ambush under the main road, jumped out from behind the concrete support pillars and set up a machine gun, sweeping the crowd below. Though they might not be very strong with their prosthetic limbs, they could still handle the machine guns.

Feeling the constant tremors of the gun in his hands, with the muzzle spitting fire and hot shell casings falling at his feet,

Gigant felt as if Stallone had possessed him! The thrill was like being pumped full of adrenaline!

This is freaking awesome!

On the side, Potato held a basket of grenades, constantly throwing them into the Night Wanderer’s convoy, not caring whether they were flash or fragmentation grenades—just throw them all.

Blow these bastards to smithereens.

With attacks from three directions at the same time and the firepower being extraordinarily fierce, the Night Wanderers, despite their superior numbers, suddenly had the illusion that they were the ones being surrounded by a large force.

Lucy, standing beside Lin Miao, was somewhat surprised. Seeing so many Night Wanderers initially made her heart sink, but she didn’t expect this kind of effect from the fight. Moreover, Lin’s side actually had a hacker... although he seemed like a young and inexperienced kid.

What she didn’t know was that Lin Miao had been using an optical unmanned aerial vehicle in the sky to follow and oversee the battlefield from the moment the enemies set out, sharing the information with all the players. In the upper right corner of the players’ field of view, there was a mini-map clearly marking the movements of all Night Wanderers and friendly forces.

Cyber warfare, kid!

No matter what you do, having information is always the most important.

"Sneak sneak sneak~ be sneakier~~"

On the opposite road from Gigant and Potato, Brother Ni, holding his hand-made compound crossbow, bent down and slowly approached the back of the Night Wanderers while their attention was drawn to the other three directions.

Then he aimed at one Night Wanderer’s head.

Whoosh~~

A crossbow bolt, unlike a bullet, made only a low whistling sound. Amidst the intense gunfight, no one could hear it.

"Ah!!!"

The Night Wanderer let out a scream because the bolt pierced through his back and out of his chest, with the arrowhead lodging into the car door in front of him.

"Damn... There’s someone behind us..."

But when his comrade looked back in panic, he saw nothing but a pile of weeds and desert, having no clue where the bolt had come from, only managing to fire wildly, hitting nothing but dust.

Whoosh~~

Another bolt shot from the grass, hitting the mark.

The Night Wanderer looked in disbelief at the bolt embedded in his buttock, took a second or two to process, and then collapsed to the ground with a piercing scream.

Brother Ni, hiding and taking potshots, watched and cursed profusely.

Aim for the head, shoot the chest; aim for the chest, shoot the rear. What’s going on?

I’ll have to correct that when I go back.

With an aerial view of the mini-map, Brother Ni isn’t worried about these Night Wanderers finding him. The recent barrage only grazed his shoulder—a minor issue.

Attacked from four directions simultaneously, the Night Wanderers were disorganized for a while but quickly realized that although they were surrounded, the gunfire was not dense, indicating that the opponent’s numbers were not high.

Under Paul’s command, the Night Wanderers quickly reorganized their firepower. As soon as Jughead emptied a magazine, the Night Wanderers reclaimed the machine gun position, suppressing the Wildman’s fire on the main battlefield. They advanced toward Jughead and Potato in teams of six, alternating their shots, making it impossible for the two to rush out from behind the concrete pillar.

As for the one taking potshots everywhere, Brother Ni, nobody knew where he had gone. Occasionally, he’d shoot an arrow at your butt, leaving you powerless.

Lin Miao and Lucy were behind five fuel tankers, coordinating with each other. One hacked into the opponents’ brain components, shutting down the prosthetics or causing short circuits, creating gaps in firepower. Lin Miao would instantly dart out to finish them off. The small-caliber bullets from the opposition did no real harm, and the duo managed to suppress over a dozen Night Wanderers.

Lucy frowned at the precarious situation and said,

"Your people seem barely holding on."

She had to admit, this group was entirely different from the homeless-looking group she saw earlier. Their combat will was indeed fierce; despite having two or three severely injured, they could still retaliate.

But this should be the end, right? Apart from the first ambush yielding results, they hadn’t managed to kill many Night Wanderers afterward.

"Barely holding on?"

Lin Miao smiled wide,

"You’re underestimating them; this is just the beginning."

These Night Wanderers aren’t even as tough as Tiger Claw gang in terms of difficulty. Although players often can’t compete, they won’t fall so quickly.

Lucy was taken aback. She didn’t understand why this guy seemed so confident in his crew. Isn’t he afraid they might surrender or flee?

But she didn’t say much. Instead, when Lin Miao signaled with his eyes, she immediately understood. She leaped gracefully, stepping on Lin Miao’s shoulder for an agile two-step climb to the top of the tanker, and hurled a monomolecular wire at a Night Wanderer.

This specialized weapon provided hackers not only with solid physical damage but also served as a means of program infiltration.

Wired connections are always more stable than wireless.

Lucy’s monomolecular wire seemed to have eyes. Calculated precisely, it swirled into the neck port of the Night Wanderer. Immediately, that Night Wanderer sparked with electricity, shocking those around. Only then did they realize the female hacker had somehow climbed onto the tanker.

However, in less than a second of distraction, Lin Miao appeared and killed two more Night Wanderers.

Jughead, hiding behind the concrete pillar, didn’t dare poke his head out, only extending the machine gun to spray bullets aimlessly. Whether it hit was up to fate.

After another magazine went empty, he turned back to ask,

"Huang Xudong, how are you?"

"I just took a shot in the thigh, damn it. Seems like it hit a major artery. Feels chilly."

Jughead gritted his teeth at his motorcycle, pulled the pin from his single smoke grenade, and tossed it.

"I’ve got an idea. Want to try it? Looks like we’re dead anyway, so why not go out with some dignity—kill one, it’s worth it; kill two, it’s profit."

Potato was also fired up by Jughead, "Damn it! To hell with it! Dead or alive, respawn takes only a day!"

"Alright!"

Everyone knows that when three men get together, they become idea kings.

But Jughead and Potato are exceptions.

They need only two.

Because the smoke grenade was obstructing them, the Night Wanderers without infrared cyber-eyes slowed their pace. The six proceeded steadfastly, convinced the two scoundrels were sitting ducks, unable to escape.

Buzz!! Buzz!!

The sudden engine roar in the thick fog halted their hearts.

The next second, Jughead bursts from the fog riding a motorcycle with Potato on the rear seat holding a bunch of grenades.

The approaching Night Wanderers fired and dodged, but to their surprise, the pair wasn’t charging at them—they didn’t even have guns.

The throttle fully open, the motorcycle swiftly broke through the line of six, and bullets hitting Jughead caused not even a flinch, as if a movie hero had burst onto the scene.

The pair, without looking back, charged toward the lower plain with a momentum comparable to a vast army, astonishing all onlookers.
