Chapter 466 - 432: Habit

Chapter 466: Chapter 432: Habit

White Horse Tombstone’s body, like a stable machine, slipped and dodged the forceful attacks of the Gray Green Giant, seizing the gaps to deliver piercing punches, hooks, and swings.

Yet a corner of her consciousness drifted upwards.

Lone wolf players weren’t exactly a trendy profession. From any perspective, joining a large guild, a multinational corporation, or a state apparatus was undoubtedly a better choice.

They had comprehensive intelligence, reliable logistical teams and think tanks, systematic training courses, and relatively complete personal security mechanisms.

So, why did I choose to become a lone wolf...

Probably because I am not accustomed to it.

Not accustomed to those Transcendents’ self-proclaimed superior attitudes, not accustomed to their tone when discussing ordinary people as if they were talking about pigs and dogs, not accustomed to the almost pathological craving and worship of personal power by all Transcendents in large guilds.

Strength is justice, and power is truth. As long as one is powerful enough, there are no rules that can’t be trampled on, no morals that can’t be broken.

In theory, the Global Supernatural Alliance GOC should uphold the world’s order of justice, cracking down hard on Transcendents involved in serial killings and terrorist attacks,

but when faced with the Evil Science Alliance that toys with soul and flesh modification;

GS Biotechnology Company, which abuses gene editing technology to mass-produce biochemical clone slave workers;

Prometheus, treating the war-torn lands of Africa, the Middle East, and South America as test fields for new weapons...

The GOC mostly condemns, at most ordering self-rectification and self-supervision.

This is not difficult to understand; there has always been a saying on the player forums,

if GS Biotechnology’s gene editing + Evil Science Alliance’s artificial womb and accelerated nurturing chamber + Prometheus’ memory infusion device were integrated,

on the entire Earth, aside from the 300,000 players with Summoner qualifications, what important, irreplaceable value do the remaining eight billion ordinary people have...

The upper echelons of large guilds could press a button to mass-produce stronger and smarter New Humans. If thought branding technology appears in the future,

then, even the last card of ordinary people, "refusing to reproduce, weakening the collective to achieve double loss," would lose its meaning.

And those Lv40 top-level Transcendents have long been detached from Earth’s ecosystem and no longer need human society’s support.

Rather than saying the GOC maintains the current order of Earthly civilization like a judge, it’s better to say they are striving to delay the arrival of a terrifying future, trying hard to maintain the current relatively "tender" situation.

Well...

It seems I have thought a bit too far.

White Horse Tombstone’s eyes were void of sorrow or joy. She leaned back to avoid the horizontal sweep of the Gray Green Giant A, arching her back and springing up like a spring,

kicking the giant in the rib, causing it to stagger back a few steps, again getting slashed by Blood Lion Roar’s double-headed giant sword.

Recognized on forums as one of the most potential players below Lv30, White Horse Tombstone foresaw the trajectory of future human civilization early on; she just found it hard to accept.

In the coming decades, or even in short years,

her homeland, the lands where her parents and ancestors lived, all familiar and proud cultures, traditions, and religions, will be crushed into historical dust by the mighty tide of the era.

Her thoughts slowly pulled back, seeing a rapidly enlarging fist in her view, White Horse Tombstone gritted her teeth and released the enhanced skill called [Burning Blood Life Borrowing],

spreading the originally blue flames entwined around her hands to her entire body, forcibly overdrawing her stamina and lifespan, sidestepping,

while catching the brief gap when Gray Green Giant A’s old strength was gone and new strength yet to rise, grabbing the bone spur on the thick arm with her left hand and delivering a full upward-hook punch with her right hand, hitting the elbow of Giant A.

Snap.

Giant A’s elbow dislocated immediately, with bone spurs piercing the skin, exposed to the air. fr.eew eb novel..com

But the next second, the giant swung its arm, slashing at White Horse Tombstone’s throat with sharp bone spurs.

At the critical moment, the Bat Hook anchored into the wall, the connecting steel wire cable tightened and straightened, as Li Cheng swung through the air like Tarzan, with Gray Rain hanging onto his ankle drifting together,

as they entered the battlefield, Gray Rain released Li Cheng, free-falling, using the momentum to heavily smash the giant’s elbow joint’s bone spur with the Skull Shattering Power Hammer,

pressing on, Gray Rain used the left hand to grip along the hammer’s shaft, swinging the Power Hammer roundly, landing a blow on Giant A’s knee.

The Skull Shattering Hammer’s special effect activated, with shockwaves traveling swiftly along the thigh, shattering the leg bone into several pieces.

Before she could swing the third hammer, there was a dense popping sound from the depths of Gray Green Giant’s thigh—tendons far superior to steel cables intertwined and wrapped, repairing the broken leg bone,

then sweeping a kick, sending the over 800-kilogram Gray Rain flying into a concrete building, moving fast enough to hear a sonic boom.

The Gray Green Giant grew more bone spurs as it battled on, growing stronger, sweeping away the double-headed giant sword slashing down from [Infinite Justice] Gundam with its right hand,

fiercely flinging its dismembered left arm, reconnecting it back to the elbow, then accurately grabbing the punching fist from White Horse Tombstone, crushing it into a literal blood mist explosion.

Bang bang.

Li Cheng repeatedly pulled the trigger of [Ape-man Degeneration Gun], turning Gray Green Giant A’s fist into fluffy gloves, preventing it from pressing the advantage to kill White Horse Tombstone outright.

Zhangsun Yao and Nikola’s support arrived just in time,

the former unleashing a flurry of paper five-pointed stars, bombarding the giant’s back like meteors;

the latter chanting a spell, liquefying the concrete road beneath the giant into hot magma, forcibly trapping it in place.

"..."

The giant "looked" at the marsh underfoot, high chest rising, it lowered its head, and from the mouth cavity, it spewed a torrent of airflow, dispersing the viscous magma, breaking free.

Then, it leaped up and in mid-air, grabbed the double-headed giant sword from [Infinite Justice] Gundam, skewering the cockpit with a reverse hand thrust,

then swinging another attack, forcing Li Cheng to instantaneously teleport backward using [Demon Exchange],

finally hurling the giant sword fiercely towards the spell-casting Nikola.

Splat!

The obsidian necklace on Nikola’s chest shattered immediately, containing a high-level magic called [Revenge Refraction], which triggered automatically,

first solidifying the double-headed giant sword in mid-air, then reversing it at greater speed to pierce through Giant A’s head.

"This is bad..."

The same thought arose in everyone’s minds, sure enough, Giant A pulled out the sword from its face, with weak red light glowing in the eye cavities,

then...

Zing!!

The Gray Green Giant’s eyes erupted with red high-energy lasers, demolishing houses, collapsing buildings wherever it passed.

Nikola, drenched in sweat, unleashed Illusion Magic with all his might, creating almost indistinguishable illusions to buy time, while shouting without turning his head, "Red Spider, how much longer?!"

"Almost there!"

"Red Spider’s voice came from the drone,

he himself had reached the end of the corridor, quietly lying on an IKEA sofa, cheek tightly pressed against the body of a sniper rifle,

[Miraculous Grace] sniper rifle was the strongest single-target killing item the players could produce on the scene temporarily.

However, this at least one-minute lock-on time seemed too long in the eyes of the Transcendents. It could be described as each second feeling like a year.
