Aqua

Everyone just kind of ignores me as I move through the city towards the guild. Mostly just out of curiosity. And it doesn’t take me long to figure out what’s happening.

Apparently they just learned that the migration will be passing extremely close to the Hunter’s City I was just at before this one. So a lot of things are happening at once.

For one, a lot of the soldiers of this Hunter’s City are moving out to help the other Hunter’s City.

For two, a lot of hunters are being hired to go help, since they’re considered more akin to mercenaries who go around dealing with monsters. So monster hunting mercenaries.

And three, the city is preparing to receive temporary refugees from the other Hunter’s City. The craftsmen and all non-combatants of the city to be specific.

Although it’s not just this Hunter’s City, but all the cities around these two oceans. And it’s not just the other Hunter’s City that is evacuating but the cities close to it as well since there are other cities along the way.

After hearing everything I give a brief nod of my head before heading to the warehouse and dropping off my current haul. Which mostly consists of a bunch of seahorses.

Over a hundred of them in fact. All of which are around two to three meters in height.

And the harvesters at the warehouse look incredibly wary the moment I step inside, and terrified when they see my haul.

But I pretend I don’t see that as I give them a smile, a salute, and walk on out of there with the crowns they shakily hand me.

At this point I really am set for a very long time in terms of money on Oceana. And I kind of feel like I’m going to be forced to go to another Hunter’s City soon.

My eyes widen at that thought.

Wait a second, doesn’t this migration mean the other Hunter’s City I know will be endangered?! And if that’s the case, where will I sell the rest of my haul when this place goes broke?!

I purse my lips as I walk out of the guild towards the inn.

Damnit, this is a problem…

Right. They said the migration will probably arrive at the Hunter’s City in around a week or so. Since migrations apparently tend to move rather slowly since there are so many monsters in them. And from what I saw before, they were moving slowly back when we passed them.

On top of that, they aren’t making a straight line towards the city. They’re heading in a zigzag pattern diagonally towards it.

To the point that they probably wouldn’t head straight towards it until they actually see it while passing by. Then they’ll make a beeline to it and attack.

Especially since it’s a migration of shark type monsters. Which tend to be a lot more aggressive.

Unlike regular sharks.

I purse my lips as I arrive at the inn and then my room. Following which a plan forms in my mind.

Right.

As long as I reach level seventy-five, I think I should be able to deal with the migration’s large shark and its slightly weaker sharks myself.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Probably.

So the plan is to keep hunting every day for the next week before going to hunt that migration.

And if things go awry? I can always just run away.

Or swim away, I guess.

With that in mind, I do my nightly routine before heading to bed. Then, when I wake up the next morning, I immediately set off to my morning jobs after my morning routine. And after that, I head out to the next broken dungeon.

This particular broken dungeon is a large sunken ship just floating in the middle of the ocean. Which, as usual, looks strange.

But not actually quite as strange as most of these broken dungeons look though. Seeing as it’s a sunken ship underwater. A more medieval wooden pirate type ship.

The only odd thing about it is that it’s floating in the middle of the water. With random bits of broken ship floating in ways that look like they should be stuck on the ground or something.

It looks weird.

As for the monsters inside of it? I actually find a bunch of drowned sailors.

Which are unusual.

The monsters look like they’re actually from the dungeon itself. Not from the surrounding waters.

I tilt my head while swimming towards the sunken ship.

Drowned sailors are one of very few System made dungeon monsters that are sort of aquatic. They are undead that are often found in sunken ship type dungeons.

So while they are technically found underwater and can be considered aquatic in a way, they aren’t actually aquatic. Seeing as they’re just undead who don’t need to breathe.

And the fact that they’re still here in the broken dungeon and haven’t been killed yet…

I identify them as I reach the edge of a hole in the sunken ship.

[Drowned Sailor – Level 48]

Yep. That’s why they’re still here.

It’s a higher level broken dungeon.

Much higher level than the prison dungeon was before breaking. With those elves being around level thirty or so. Making their armor completely useless to me.

Even breaking down their armor was impossible since it wasn’t even metal armor.

As for these drowned sailors? They aren’t even wearing armor.

They’re just wearing regular clothes. Ripped ones at that.

The drowned sailors themselves look more like pirates than sailors, in a way. Just with very wrinkled skin tinted heavily with a bluish gray color. And pitch black eyes without any whites.

Also, they have scimitars, swords, and bows as weapons.

Although I have to say, seeing them pitifully shoot arrows at me underwater with said arrows just slowing down to a crawl before even reaching me is hilarious. Probably because this is the deep layer. So there is a good chunk of water pressure here.

The chat is laughing too.

That said, despite being able to survive down here, these drowned sailors are still humanoid in body. And they don’t have any fins or anything like that. Making it so that they can’t exactly swim like I can.

So I easily begin tearing them to shreds with nothing but my trident.

One after another. Just slaughtering the drowned sailors.

Unfortunately for them, most of their skills are all related to their weapons. Like focused and long shot for their bow and arrows. Or dual slash.

Very common combat skills for regular people in the System too that aren’t Bloodliners.

I haven’t gotten any weapon skills yet though. Which according to my Kraken grandfather is most likely because of my Bloodlines.

Since I have two Bloodlines, he said I have two sets of Bloodline skills in my pool of potential skills. So I get a lot more Bloodline skills than most Bloodliners get.

That said, I’m not entirely sure if that’s entirely accurate since I have a merged Bloodline. Which no one seems to have guessed is even possible.

And I don’t blame them. If I wasn’t told by the System that my Bloodline is a merged Bloodline resulting from two different Bloodlines, I’d just assume I probably had two Bloodlines and that was all.

But there’s a good chance that one of two possibilities is true according to what that guy said.

Either I have two sets of Bloodlines as he said, or I have three. With both of those Bloodlines and a set for the merged Bloodline itself.

I’m not sure which. I do at least know that I’ve gotten skills from both the Bloodlines. So it’s at least two Bloodlines worth of skills in my skill pool.

The only problem with this is that my weapons are probably gonna go to waste. Especially if I have three sets as I suspect I might. Seeing as the Bloodline skills are overriding any chance at regular skills.

That said, at the end of the day, this means I should be stronger. Since Bloodline skills from Ancient Monsters are a lot stronger than regular human skills.

Humans are weaker than monsters after all. It’s just how they are unfortunately.

A human is born with lower stats than monsters. And that’s the way of the universe.

They’re made from mana after all. Unlike humans who are just born regularly.

I narrow my eyes at the drowned sailors in the sunken ship as I tear them apart.

And Ancient Monsters are the apex of all monsters.
