Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead
Chapter 984 - 984: Intel

Whilst Nitok was having fun embarrassing Maiele, Unacunerra phased out of the ground next to his king.

"Your Majesty, we have successfully set foot upon Yoreterre" informed the royal guard in death tongue.

"Ah, at last we have reached that old piece of a continent… How many of our dear fellow superpowers know about this?" inquired Nitok.

"For now, only Bermude should be aware, they are the one who were finally convinced to lend us the knowledge of a safe route to reach it, though, it should not be too long until they leak the news" replied Unacunerra, although it might not seem like much, Yoreterre was actually an incredibly important place for all of the superpowers, mostly for different reasons.

Unless the empire was feeling ready to declare war on all of the superpowers at once, it was best for the undeads not to attempt to conquer the old continent and it surroundings, Yoreterre was a goldmine for all sorts of resources, spiritual items and materials useful for Lefaux, all sorts of marine and water-attributes beasts and natural wonders for Bermude, all sorts of minerals, rocks and the likes for Durter, and primitive, yet powerful draconic species that greatly interest Dragonnerie, and of course, the beast here were incredibly nourishing to the dragons in general.

It was a vast, wild land where no truly sapient species lived, only primitive creatures inhabited the continent, some might be quite intelligent, but Yoreterre as a whole seemed perpetually stuck into a primal and feral state, upon it, life was blooming and sprawling, filled with powerful beasts and monsters, even the simple animals upon it were paragons of strength and survival.

Not only was it an enormous continent covered in all sorts of biomes, thus offering a basically unlimited array of resources to pick from as long as one was capable of taking them, but it was also one of the largest known continents by a large margin, only rivaled by Verdoyante, countless spans of wide land had never been explored.

But what was most important was that the ressources, not matter what they may be, seemed inexhaustible, quite in the literal sense, ores and stone mined by people from Durter would quickly reform, to the point that even the professional miners and tunnel carvers of this world could not create permanent ways through the earth and stone of Yoreterre, they even had to be careful not to get crushed as the rock reformed around them.

Yoreterre had served a big part of the creation and expansion of the superpowers in their early days, although it remained a strategic area for obvious reasons, nowadays, it was far less exploited, partly due to the resources they knew and had access to had grown less useful overtime, that their stocks had become so great due to the unlimited amounts that the value of it had fallen low, and also because in the many years since Yoreterre had begun being exploited, the continent had somehow gotten further and further away.

Indeed, inexplicably, Yoreterre seemed to shift position ever so slightly every so often, and over centuries, it had moved further from the other continents, and only Dragonnerie could maintain direct proximity since it could also move, the other continents had to establish cities near it to continue enjoying the benefits…

"I am quite surprised that the Queen-Empress was the first to agree to lead us here, I was certain that Vwoldtnir would manage to get the Hierophant-Queen to show the way first" Nitok commented as he rubbed his chin.

Getting to Yoreterre had been an objective for a long time, the value of this wild continent was obvious for the undead empire, firstly, the countless creatures upon it represented an incredible amounts of potential undeads, and with none being truly sapient, the risk of negators was incredibly low even if they went about it in the most appalling and barbaric manner, but also, this continent was a dangerous one that was rumoured to be amongst the most ancient of them all, so the amount of beings who had died upon it throughout the ages would cause the numbers of undead in the world to burst out of control if they could conquer it.

Of course, the other superpowers were aware of this, and would definitely be keeping a close eye on the undeads about this matter, it was not only a matter of exploiting resources and business, Yoreterre could very well cause their downfall if it fell in the hands of death.

But also, the regular resources were incredibly valuable, the undead constantly experimented, fusing and creating their own materials, giving them full access to Yoreterre was inviting trouble- However, the Queen-Empress Of Bermude must have noticed that the empire was getting close to finding their own way to it, and instead acted to try and secure a deal safe deal, after all, if the undeads reached the continent on their own and figured out their own routes, it would be difficult to convince them to strike any sort of deal, but if she offered them a safe way to get to Yoreterre, then it quickly became much simpler.

Of course, Nitok had no intention of rushing things.

"What does she want?" he asked his royal guard.

"She merely desires a one-time payment for the assistance, and for limitations to be put in place, wanting to keep us from exploiting the continent to the minimum amount possible"

"Is that so? Send a diplomat to Bermude, tell them to make things arduous, but eventually agree to a deal that is to Bermude's advantage, it is fine even if we are limited in what we can do on Yoreterre, it is not our priority anyways, and if necessary, we could always strike better deals with other superpowers, Ronarkatast is far less fussy about us expanding our strength, as long as we have nice dragons to present to him, he'll surely give us a far better deal" Nitok laughed slightly.

"By the way, how are things progressing in the Emerald Realm?" Maiele spoke up with her arms crossed.

"Lord Dracula's latest report stated that things were progressing smoothly, this realm should soon fall with an estimated rate of undeads who live in death springing up that is on the low-end" informed Unacunerra.

"I see…"

"No need to worry, honey, I am certain that your vampiric blood will awaken soon-!" said Nitok as tried to wrap one of his bony hands around her waist, only to get elbowed right in the face.

The Prince Of Death turned to his royal guard.

"No matter what, she still hates public displays of affection" he shook his head "In private though-"

"Do not say another word, Nitok"

"...Unacunerra, tell me some more information before my wife drops a sun on my head"

"Of course, Your Majesty"
