Chapter 77: Chapter 78 Ignorant of Death and Life
"What’s wrong, Six?"
The commotion caught the attention of a few who were overseeing the bar, and they walked over. Their gazes inquired as they looked at the two men.
"This blind fool, can’t watch where he’s going, bumped into me."
"No, no, it’s not like that, Brother Liu, it really wasn’t my fault, it was that guy who threw me over here, he said he was looking for someone called Sun Hao, I told him to come in and look for himself, and then he threw me over here!"
Upon hearing Brother Liu’s words, the waiter’s face instantly turned pale with fright, and in a panicked rush, his guard dropped and he blurted out the whole story, pointing at Xiao Yi, who was standing calmly at the entrance, smiling and watching this scene unfold.
After hearing the waiter’s account, everyone’s expression changed at once, and their gazes shifted simultaneously to where Xiao Yi was standing.
Xiao Yi, noticing that all eyes were now on him, knew that he had achieved his aim. His smile grew even brighter, and he extended his hand, waving to the crowd as a gesture.
Xiao Yi had always preferred to handle matters directly and effectively. He didn’t have the time, nor did he have the interest or necessity, to slowly inquire about Sun Hao’s whereabouts or search for him bit by bit within the bar, causing minor disturbances. Having Sun Hao, the bar owner, come out to meet him, was undoubtedly the best plan.
"A pretty boy trying to stir up trouble? Interesting, Brother Three, I’ll go teach him a lesson, let him know where he is."
The man previously called Brother Liu followed the waiter’s pointing finger and saw Xiao Yi. Seeing Xiao Yi waving back instead of showing fear, Brother Liu felt a surge of anger rise within him. A cold smirk appeared on his lips, and without waiting for his companions’ reactions, he strode toward Xiao Yi.
"Let’s go check it out."
Another man who seemed more collected, known as Brother Three, also darkened his expression and waved his hand, signaling the others to follow Brother Liu.
"Kid, are you blind, daring to cause trouble here? Do you know whose turf this is!"
Brother Liu stepped in front of Xiao Yi and began berating him immediately.
"I know, Sun Hao’s. You go bring him out to meet me. And, don’t point your finger at my forehead, I hate it when people do that, whether it’s a finger or a gun."
Xiao Yi gently pushed his hand away, speaking indifferently.
"Fuck you, dare to touch me? I’m gonna beat you to death!"
Brother Liu was caught off guard by Xiao Yi’s fearlessness and even more by him pushing his hand away, speaking with an arrogance that even surpassed Liu’s. Temporarily taken aback, but as he regained his senses, he became like a wolf whose tail had been stepped on, leaping into action, swearing all the while, and swung his massive fist toward Xiao Yi’s abdomen.
"The thing I hate most of all is when someone insults my mother!"
A flash of iciness passed through Xiao Yi’s eyes, and as his words ended, his fist struck out as well. He hadn’t been as polite with this guy, who clearly wasn’t any good and exuded a strong, aggressive air, as he had been with the waiter earlier. He had been careful in throwing the waiter, making sure not to hurt him badly, with the sole purpose of causing a scene. But now, he was more than ready to teach this rude person a harsh lesson!
"Crack!"
"Ah!"
Along with a sharp crack, a piercing scream also arose.
Brother Liu’s figure, like a tuft of cotton broken free from its thread, flew towards the few men who had just caught up behind him. Almost simultaneously, they reached out to block him, retreating several steps before managing to stop his momentum.
But still, he clutched his stomach, collapsing to the ground, howling and rolling in agony.
A broken rib, and not just any break but one caused by a powerful punch, directly snapping it. The type of pain was indescribable unless personally experienced. Even a true tough guy would involuntarily scream in agony. Brother Liu, clearly not tough enough to earn that title, felt as though all his internal organs were churning, writhing in pain, and he began rolling on the ground. This was his way of trying to alleviate the excruciating pain.
"Kid, who the hell are you? Do you have any idea that this is Brother Hao’s territory!"
The men behind finally realized that the person in front wasn’t some ignorant pretty boy but a hard character who’d come prepared to stir up trouble. Seeing their companion writhing on the ground, they didn’t act like the typical thugs, anxiously asking what was wrong; instead, they opted to confront Xiao Yi first.
Leading the way, Brother Three stared coldly at Xiao Yi and barked harshly.
"I know, I’ve said it before, I’m here to find him. Are you all idiots? Save the chatter. If you don’t want to end up like your buddy here, you’d better hurry up and get that Sun Hao over here."
Xiao Yi replied indifferently.
"Friend, so it seems you knew this is Brother Hao’s territory and still decided to smash up the place?"
Brother Three’s face changed upon hearing Xiao Yi’s words, staring at him coldly.
"I have no interest in smashing his place up; I just want him to show up faster. I’ll count to three. If you don’t go call that guy named Sun, I won’t hold back. 1..."
Xiao Yi began to count, already growing impatient.
"Take down this brat for me!"
Brother Three was close to exploding with rage. Ever since he’d been with Sun Hao, he’d never met anyone as arrogant as this man. In the whole of G City, who didn’t treat Brother Hao with the utmost respect? As for the so-called brothers of the gang, they all called out ’Brother Hao’ with reverence, treating those around Sun Hao with great respect. Who did this kid think he was, daring to threaten him? And counting one, two, three? He had originally wanted to probe further in a civil manner, but now he let that go, waving his hand and directing the men behind him to charge forward.
Without the need for Brother Three’s command, the several men following him, also fuming, had prepared their weapons. At Brother Three’s word, they immediately pulled out the weapons they’d hidden on themselves and ferociously swung them at Xiao Yi.
Although they felt like a pretty boy such as Xiao Yi could easily be handled with their bare fists, they still acknowledged that punching could hurt, and the force behind their fists was limited—not to mention, much less than that of the short sticks they carried for self-defense. So, they chose to draw those instead.
"Ignorant fools!"
Xiao Yi snorted coldly, and his figure moved in an instant, performing an unbelievable spin on the spot, his toes kicking out three times in succession.
The ones who rushed to hit him were exactly three men!
