Chapter 552: Chapter 550: Are You Healed?

(Today, I received four votes, and they are mostly from old friends. I have 25 monthly tickets now, and although this number might be embarrassingly small in the eyes of many—let alone famous authors, even ordinary ones—I, the Evil Young Master, am very content. I thank all the old friends for their support and encouragement. Thank you, everyone, and if possible, please continue to support me with a few more votes to see if we can break through to 30 by the end of the month^^!)

Cultivation Power fully restored and even slightly refined!

After sensing the condition within his body, Xiao Yi showed a faint smile on his face and slowly got out of bed. The moment his feet touched the ground, the sharp glint in Xiao Yi’s eyes instantly vanished. His gaze returned to its usual calm and profound depth, his figure to its thin and ordinary appearance. Only those who were particularly close to him, who knew him well, and who paid careful attention, could sense something unusual about him, detecting an ethereal and elegant aura.

Stepping out of the hotel and onto the streets of M City, physically nearing the city, feeling the not-so-tight streams of people, Xiao Yi silently observed, listened, and felt. He pushed his Spiritual Sense to its limits.

The pedestrians on the road were all discussing their own matters—the annoying incidents at work, the beautiful women and handsome men they just saw, last night’s quarrels they heard from the neighbor’s house... Nobody paid any attention to the handsome, slender young man amongst them, silently absorbing all the information.

Even those who passed by Xiao Yi did not spare him a glance.

Xiao Yi looked extremely ordinary, just like any passerby—dressed in nondescript street-stall clothes, with a common face and body, nothing particularly remarkable about him.

But logically, even the most ordinary person walking on the street should attract some attention. There would usually be a few observant gazes...

Yet Xiao Yi didn’t. From the moment he left the hotel to his time on the street, not a single person looked at him. It was as if everyone’s eyes were blind, unable to see him. A young man over 1.7 meters tall seemed to have blended into the air, becoming one with it.

Xiao Yi seemed completely unaware of these anomalies, or perhaps, his expression remained unchanged. It seemed as if all of this was expected, as he casually strolled at a relaxed pace through the bustling streets.

This was a trait he discovered early on when he entered the Condensation period—that as his realm improved, his temperament and the natural world seemed to become more harmonious.

This was a very marginal benefit. For many masters in the Condensation period, they’d rather have everyone know their status, and usually, there was no need to hide one’s presence. So, although some sensed this benefit, few would deliberately study it.

However, the moment Xiao Yi discovered this advantage, he took a significant interest in it. Previously, despite his research, he’d made no progress until Beichen Feng had given him a set of secret techniques. Inspired by some of its unique principles, he made a breakthrough in concealing his presence after days of studying it.

This was the first time Xiao Yi had deployed it after his breakthrough.

"Did you hear? This morning, three kids went missing from Tongxin Kindergarten!"

"I heard. It happened at noon, several teachers were watching, and just like that, they went missing. Don’t you think this feels sinister...?"

"........."

Suddenly, a snippet of hushed, heated discussion reached his ears from the roadside.

Hearing the exchange, Xiao Yi’s mind jolted, his expression instantly changed, and he clenched his fists tightly.

The moment he heard the conversation, he immediately concluded that it must be the work of those bastards!

Those damn bastards!

A flash of anger appeared in Xiao Yi’s eyes.

As Situ had guessed, it seemed they were indeed frantically ’busy at work’!

After doing his homework, he knew that Tongxin Kindergarten was located in the city area and was quite a reputable institution. Such a place wouldn’t normally be a target for them, as their usual operation locations were scattered in parks or neighborhood entrances, mostly targeting children of comparatively careless parents.

But now, they had extended their reach to these kindergartens, which indicated their desperation!

They must have assumed that by injuring and driving away Situ Qingfeng, they could act more boldly and swiftly!

Soon, Xiao Yi’s mind cooled down, and he began to analyze the situation.

Unfortunately for them, if they thought that driving Situ Qingfeng away allowed them to act without restraint, their calculations were gravely mistaken!

A cold smile appeared on Xiao Yi’s lips as he moved his feet, guided by the map in his mind, towards Tongxin Kindergarten.

And here was Tongxin Kindergarten!

Ten minutes later, Xiao Yi’s figure appeared at the entrance of Tongxin Kindergarten.

This kindergarten, which should have been of considerable size, had an atmosphere marked by gloom and despair. The place was eerily empty, and it was unclear whether it was because school was out or due to the incident that morning.

The entrance to the kindergarten was in total disarray, the gate was even deformed, and a group of angry people stood at the entrance.

Among them, several had sorrowful expressions and bloodshot eyes. One look was enough to tell that these were the relatives of the missing children, struck deep in their Heart Sutras.

After briefly observing the scene at the entrance, Xiao Yi hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided not to approach and ask anything. Instead, he continued his stride towards the back door of the kindergarten and began to follow along the surrounding wall.

"Eh?"

Suddenly, Xiao Yi’s steps came to a halt as his gaze intently focused on a corner ahead.

This unremarkable spot, from a geographical standpoint, was a blind spot of the kindergarten. It had abundant greenery, and not far from there was a playground for children.

What was key, however, was its proximity to the kindergarten’s iron fence, and its location at a secluded alley with very sparse foot traffic.

Staring at that corner for about ten minutes, a hint of a cold smile appeared at the corner of Xiao Yi’s eyes. His hand reached out gingerly, touching the segment of the iron fence before he turned his head and took in the surroundings carefully. His steps then rapidly changed direction as he quickly walked towards an alley ahead.

He was almost completely certain that the three children were taken from this spot, and furthermore, the person who took action was not alone. There were at least two people involved, one of whom must have been trained, because he noticed a slight bend in the fence that would have gone unnoticed without a careful observation.

Combining what Situ Qingfeng had told him earlier with what he personally experienced in G City before, he could almost reconstruct the crime scene in his mind. These bastards were really brazen and daring!

A smirk lingered in Xiao Yi’s heart as he quickened his pace.

............

"Senior brother?"

"Captain Situ?"

"..."

In G City, within a meeting room temporarily designated for a task force focused on a child trafficking gang, the crowd that was engrossed in a discussion looked up in unison toward the entrance as Situ Qingfeng walked in. When they recognized it was Situ Qingfeng, expressions of surprise froze on their faces.

After a bit of time, everyone regained their composure, their faces wearing a look of disbelief as they exclaimed in surprise.

In less than a day of not seeing him, Situ Qingfeng’s face seemed extremely vibrant, not at all like someone who had been injured!

How could this be?

Surprise and disbelief echoed within everyone’s hearts, especially Zeng Xiaomei, who had a profound understanding of internal injuries and had a vague sense of the severity of Situ Qingfeng’s injuries before.

She couldn’t believe her eyes.

Situ Qingfeng, seeing the shock on everyone’s faces, understood what amazed them. A sliver of pride and smugness crept into his eyes. Such was the medical skill of Xiao Yi, his boss’s expertise. In the world, only his boss, Xiao Yi’s medical skill, could be so miraculous, so extraordinary!

But on his lips, he said nothing, let alone boast about Xiao Yi’s medical prowess. He knew Xiao Yi’s identity was to be kept secret, for if it were to be leaked, it would be no joking matter!

All he did was smile and ask, "Why, is it not alright for me to come in?"

"That... of course not," everyone replied.

Though they had grown to feel more familiar with Captain Situ after the recent incident and no longer found him as cold and aloof as before, the fear they felt towards him was still very present. Hearing his words, they all hastened to shake their heads in agreement.

"Senior brother, are your injuries healed?"

Zeng Xiaomei, who was most familiar with Situ Qingfeng and less intimidated by him compared to the others, looked at him in amazement. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to vote and support on Qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
