Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Divine Doctor Xiao

"Xiao Yi, it’s really you."

The girl had just seen Xiao Yi’s back and found it familiar but wasn’t entirely sure until he turned his head. When she saw his face, she rushed over to him with a face full of surprise.

"It’s me, haha."

Xiao Yi smiled briefly. He had a good impression of this girl, who, despite great pressure that day, had agreed to let him treat her grandfather. Although he was absolutely confident in his medical skills, and indeed, she had made an absolutely wise choice, from the girl’s perspective, it was not an easy decision—a young man who looked barely over twenty and without a medical license.

"I’m so glad to have run into you, I thought I might never see you again."

The girl excitedly grabbed Xiao Yi’s hand, speaking somewhat awkwardly.

Having spoken, she suddenly realized the ambiguity in her words, and the fact that she was excitedly holding someone’s hand made her quickly release his hand, her face turning red as she stammered, "Xiao Yi, I didn’t mean that, what I meant was that you left in such a rush that day. My grandfather has been looking for you these past few days, wanting to thank you, the Divine Doctor."

"I know, but really, it was nothing. The old man is doing well now, right?"

Xiao Yi watched the girl’s flustered expression and smiled understandingly. He certainly wouldn’t naïvely think that the girl had fallen in love with him at first sight just because they met once and he had treated her grandfather. He was that excited.

He was very aware that he wasn’t the kind of guy who made people fall in love at first sight. His looks could best be described as delicate, pleasant to look at, but certainly not arresting enough to be accused of disrupting public appearance.

"He’s doing very well. After taking the medicine you prescribed, his blood pressure has stabilized, and he feels much better than before. In fact, these last few days he has been insisting that we must find you to express our thanks."

Hearing Xiao Yi’s words, the girl spoke excitedly. After finishing, her eyes filled with gratitude and admiration as she looked at Xiao Yi, "Xiao Yi, I can’t believe how young you are, yet your medical skills are so advanced, even more impressive than our professors. They’ve been treating my grandfather for so long without any progress!"

Thinking of her grandfather’s recent health and monitoring his blood pressure, she felt even more fortunate that she made such an utterly correct decision that day. Otherwise, they might have missed out on meeting such a divine doctor, and like he had said that day, her grandfather could have ended up as a stroke victim confined to a bed.

"It’s nothing, really, just a small effort. Don’t worry about thanks; I’ll visit your grandfather personally when I have time. By the way, at his age, he definitely needs to watch his diet, try not to eat too many high-fat, high-sugar foods, and avoid too much salt as well."

Seeing the sincere gratitude in the girl’s eyes, Xiao Yi felt a bit abashed. Initially, he hadn’t wanted to get involved that day, and in the end, he had intervened merely out of a moment’s compassion. After going back, he had felt a bit regretful, but he had not expected it to earn such sincere gratitude from her.

"Lulu, who is this?"

The girl was about to say something when a gentle voice interrupted her.

"Ah, Big Brother Qian, have you parked the car? Come, let me introduce you. This is Divine Doctor Xiao, Big Brother Xiao Yi who saved my grandfather a few days ago."

Upon hearing the gentle voice, the girl turned happily, pulled over a cultured and elegant man who had just arrived from the parking lot nearby, and introduced Xiao Yi. After finishing, she pointed to the cultured man and said, "Big Brother Xiao, this is Qian Xiaofeng, Big Brother Qian. Oh, and you might not know my name yet, I’m Han Lu, but you can just call me Lulu."

"Hello, my name is Qian Xiaofeng, and I’m a good friend of Lulu. It’s a pleasure to meet you, and I really appreciate what you did for Grandpa Han that day."

The cultured and elegant man, noticing the enthusiasm on the girl’s face, felt a hint of jealousy behind his glasses, but he still extended his hand towards Xiao Yi with a warm smile.

"Hello."

Xiao Yi didn’t have a great impression of the man. Although his smile seemed radiant, Xiao Yi felt there was something subtly effeminate about him. However, for Han Lu’s sake, he simply greeted him casually and shook his hand. Since he had only just met Han Lu, there wasn’t much to say about his background. He simply said, "Hello."

"Hehe, I’m really happy today to have met Big Brother Xiao. Oh, right, Big Brother Xiao, I saw you coming out of the store just now. What were you planning to buy? Did you find it?"

After Xiao Yi and Qian Xiaofeng had shaken hands, Han Lu said cheerfully, halfway through her question, she suddenly remembered something and asked with concern.

"Yes, I didn’t buy anything. I just came to look around."

Xiao Yi smiled briefly.

"Oh, Big Brother Xiao, if you see anything you like, just let me know. My fourth uncle’s shop is the largest and most reputable antique shop in the city. Don’t be fooled by the small size of this store; it’s the smallest branch store of my second uncle’s."

Upon hearing that Xiao Yi was just browsing, a hint of disappointment flashed across Han Lu’s face, but she quickly became excited again and continued to introduce the shop to him.

As soon as she finished speaking, the middle-aged man who had just served Xiao Yi came out and smiled at Han Lu, "Lu Girl, you’re here? Why are you standing outside? Is Xiaofeng here too? Come on in and have a seat."

"Fourth Uncle Han, it’s good to see you. I just ran into Lulu at Book City. She mentioned she was coming to see you, so I boldly decided to come along. Hope I’m not bothering you."

Seeing the middle-aged man, Qian Xiaofeng immediately displayed a radiant smile.

"Haha, of course not, it’s an honor for you to come. How could it be a bother? Business isn’t great today anyway, and I’m quite free. It’s great that you guys came to keep me company. Haha... Oh, let’s not just stand here. Come in for some tea. You’re in luck today – I just brewed some fine Longjing tea."

The middle-aged man seemed very familiar with Qian Xiaofeng and took his words lightly, laughing heartily.

After speaking, he suddenly noticed Xiao Yi was also standing there, and with slight surprise, he said to him, "Hey, young man, you haven’t left yet? Waiting for someone? If you don’t mind, come in for a cup of tea as well, hehe."

"Fourth uncle, he is the Xiao Yi who saved Grandpa that day!"

Han Lu, seeing Fourth Uncle Han apparently not recognizing Xiao Yi and seemingly suggesting Xiao Yi leave, couldn’t help but interject anxiously.

"What?"

The middle-aged man was stunned for a moment, looking at Xiao Yi incredulously, "Are you the Divine Doctor Xiao?"

"Divine doctor is too grand; I only have a little knowledge."

Xiao Yi, being called a divine doctor, displayed an uncomfortable look on his face.

"Ah, so you are Divine Doctor Xiao! No wonder, no wonder, no wonder you were looking for medical ancient texts!"

The middle-aged man suddenly slapped his forehead, realizing with an enlightened expression, "I’m really sorry, having a life-saver right in front of me and not recognizing him. Hello, Divine Doctor Xiao, my name is Han Cheng. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
