Chapter 322: Chapter 325: The Legendary Trained
If someone else had said those words, they would have never believed them and would have taken it as a joke, but coming from Brother Fa’s mouth, he had no need to undermine his own dignity, not to mention that of his loyal followers. The people he was talking about were ones they admired greatly, having followed Brother Fa for a long time and being ancestors of considerable renown.
"Boss... is he... the legendary one who has... trained?"
One of the hoodlums plucked up the courage to ask Brother Fa.
"If he hadn’t trained, do you think he’d be able to kick people around like a soccer ball?"
Brother Fa had a look of ’are you an idiot’ on his face. After sneering at his followers’ expressions, he said, "Now, you don’t think you can knock him out with a single punch anymore, do you?"
His words left everyone with embarrassed expressions.
Brother Fa sneered again, knowing they had taken his words to heart, decided not to say more. If he didn’t see these guys as brothers, and if he wasn’t afraid they’d mess with Xiao Yi again, bringing trouble for both him and Li Dafa, he wouldn’t have wasted so many words on them!

The shop Li Ling had rented was not located in the same spot as her previous street stall, but the general area was the same, overall, it still kind of off the beaten path, yet it was relatively more convenient than before.
At least it was now easier to find a taxi, facing a main road, with no need to meander through the streets and alleys to find the place as before.
Fatty Tang had already given Xiao Yi the exact address beforehand, so it wasn’t too difficult for Xiao Yi to find it. In fact, the shop wasn’t hard to locate, as its signboard was the only one like it in the vicinity, and there weren’t many shops of its kind around.
Standing by the roadside, Xiao Yi assessed the foot traffic and environment, and glanced over at Li Ling’s shopfront across the street. He nodded to himself appreciatively, not knowing who had chosen the site for the store, but he had to acknowledge it was a great pick.
It was indeed a composite of many considerations, not only near a main road which made catching a taxi slightly easier for Fatty Tang, but also because the cost of this place should be more manageable. After all, it was not in the densest pedestrian areas of G City’s city center.
But cleverly, this location was absolutely perfect for the kind of store he was about to open, which particularly drew women and students, the main consumers for such a snack shop. Generally, most grown men wouldn’t bother to stop by a shop like this for small bites or barbecue.
Around the shop, besides a few women’s clothing stores, there were two factories not far away, one electronic and the other garment, which typically employed numerous female workers. Near the factories was an elementary and a middle school.
Whether it was the students or the factory workers, after school or work, they had to pass this street in different directions, though it wasn’t necessary that they pass by the school, as there was another street that could be used.
However, if Li Ling’s cooking was up to par and she attracted those students, clearly, they wouldn’t mind making the detour. Having once personally tried out Li Ling’s barbecue, Xiao Yi was quite confident in her skills.
But soon, Xiao Yi shook his head, eliminating the possibility that it was Fatty Tang’s doing. It wasn’t that he looked down on Fatty Tang. Although Fatty Tang was quite clever, there were some things he couldn’t understand without experience, even after reading many books and hearing numerous tips; it’s different from the real-world experience that often differs from theory.
Li Ling, on the other hand, had already been through a lot, although he presently had no idea why she had entered society so early in her life. Yet she truly had been mingling in society for quite some time and evidently had previously been involved in that line of work for not an insignificant duration.
From his brief interactions with her, he could tell she was pretty smart, able to make such a comprehensive site selection. Although Xiao Yi was somewhat surprised, he found it reasonable.
"Little friend, here’s your hot and sour rice noodles, fresh and ready. Don’t buy too much, children shouldn’t eat too much of this, okay!"
"And here’s your grilled chicken wing, be careful, it’s hot!"
As soon as Xiao Yi neared the shop, he heard Li Ling’s cheerful and gentle voice, saw her carefully handing over the food the two kids had ordered with a smile on her face, and he couldn’t help but once again feel a touch of admiration.
It hadn’t been that long since he and Li Ling last met, but he could feel the immense changes in her. Her aura was completely different from before.
Previously, she was visibly pretty and had a sense of spirit, yet perhaps due to the harshness of life and lack of nourishment from knowledge, she seemed somewhat pitiable and colorless, as though lacking inner strength.
Now, however, her inner self seemed much more filled out, a change that fully demonstrated her potential and silently impressed Xiao Yi. It seemed Fatty Tang’s initial judgement was quite good after all. His liking for this girl had substantial merit.
Nevertheless, Xiao Yi’s keen senses quickly picked up on something amiss in her body language. Though her face was smiling, her brows were slightly furrowed and the corners of her eyes revealed a hint of weariness, clearly indicating she was dealing with some issue.
Observing her demeanor, he almost immediately concluded that Fatty Tang’s guess was probably accurate.
Fatty Tang’s father or mother must have indeed paid her a visit, that’s why she displayed such an expression.
"Eh, Xiao Yi, you’re here!"
While Xiao Yi was quietly speculating, Li Ling had spotted him and, after a moment of surprise, her face lit up with delight as she greeted him, "Come on, Xiao Yi, please come in and have a seat!"
She had been hearing a lot about Xiao Yi from Fatty Tang recently, knowing him to be Fatty Tang’s best classmate, and harking back to the last time he had stepped in to deal with the thugs and helped her recover her losses. She had a very deep impression of Xiao Yi and was very grateful to him.
However, she still couldn’t bring herself to call Xiao Yi ’Boss’ as casually as Fatty Tang did, opting instead to address him by his name.
