Chapter 313: Chapter 316: Is She Sneaking Glances at Him?

"Hmph, if you’re late or don’t show up, I’ll never bother with you again."

Zeng Xiaoxiao glared at him and cast a warning look.

Seeing Zeng Xiaoxiao’s expression return to what it was before, Xiao Yi knew the little girl’s anger had finally dissipated. He breathed a sigh of relief, smiled wryly, and without saying anything, turned his head to look at the lectern, ready to continue listening to the class—or rather, to pretend to be listening.

But as soon as he turned his head, his gaze met Zhao Yuhua’s directly. Zhao Yuhua’s gaze, which was surprisingly directed at him, abruptly shifted to the lectern in front of her as soon as she felt his eyes on her. Her expression was as calm as a mirror, as if she had been seriously watching the lectern and listening to the teacher all along.

Xiao Yi turned his head back and stole a glance at the composed Zhao Yuhua, his face slightly startled. He certainly didn’t think he had just experienced an illusion. At his level, barring some special circumstances, hallucinations were not an easy thing to come by.

Why would Zhao Yuhua secretly be watching him?

Turning his gaze back to the lectern, Xiao Yi couldn’t help but ponder with profound confusion in his heart.

He certainly wouldn’t narcissistically believe that Zhao Yuhua, this cold and beautiful flower, had taken a liking to him and was secretly in love with him, which is why she was sneaking glances at him.

After all, he knew himself best. Although he was exceedingly proud in his heart and utterly confident that he had plenty to be proud of, he still didn’t think that his current appearance had anything worthy of her attention.

He was not particularly handsome; to be fair, from certain angles, he might not even compare to pretty boys like Li Ziming and Gao Junjie, those born with a silver spoon in their mouth. His attire was also ordinary, and his conduct at school wasn’t even worth mentioning; it was so unremarkable that calling it atrocious wouldn’t be an overstatement.

If there was one thing about him that stood out, it was probably fighting. Since coming to school, he had indeed gotten into a few fights, but he didn’t think that this would catch her interest.

He had previously sensed that she had cultivated some kind of cold Kung Fu. Now that his power had greatly increased and he had entered the Initial Tier of the Condensation period, he was even more certain that she, like him, was a fellow practitioner on the martial path, and what she practiced was indeed a special type of icy Kung Fu. Moreover, her strength was already quite formidable.

While she was no match for him, her strength was leagues beyond what he showed in the fights at school.

The most important clue...

...was her expression just then. Even he, a rookie with hardly any experience in romance, could tell that just wasn’t the way a girl looks when she’s got a crush on a boy!

But after thinking it through, he still couldn’t figure out what her gaze meant. Xiao Yi could only shake his head and cast the problem out of his mind. If he couldn’t figure something out, he simply wouldn’t think about it—that had always been Xiao Yi’s style.

After all, Xiao Yi always believed that everything would eventually become clear, like sediment settling after a river subsides. For instance, he didn’t now know Zhao Yuhua’s intentions, but he was sure that whatever her reasons were, she would eventually come to him, and then everything would be clear.

Sitting up straight, he closed his eyes slightly, and Xiao Yi began to practice the Divine Sense nurturing Kung Fu that the old man had taught him, just like always.

......

G City International Airport.

"Elder Liu, please follow me this way!"

Inside the airport’s VIP passage, a representative of the Liu Family in G City, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, was respectfully leading the way through the corridor with a bent waist.

With thinning, grizzled hair and a face creased with wrinkles, Old Master Liu had a stern expression as he walked, head bowed. Yet his footsteps were nothing like what his age suggested; each step was firm and brisk. Behind him followed another elderly man similarly wrinkled and with sparse hair, his figure seemingly hunched, but his steps were as vigorous as Old Master Liu’s.

On his back, he carried an ancient Xuanwu Country medicinal box that one would rarely see in modern times. Its exterior, patched and disjointed, was exceptionally eye-catching.

Surrounding the two elders, about a dozen men in black suits with meticulous hairstyles and uniform steps had almost no expression on their faces. Stationed at various positions around the two old men, they followed closely, their piercing gazes frequently sweeping the area, cold and intimidating like predators in a forest, ready to pounce on their prey at any moment. This made some of the passengers and airport staff nearby feel terrified.

"This way, Elder Liu!"

Sensing Elder Liu’s silence, the leader of their group began to sweat nervously from his forehead, feeling increasingly anxious. Especially when he noticed that Elder Liu and the unknown elderly man were almost right on his heels, he felt an immense pressure, which made his voice gradually grow tense.

The group moved swiftly like the wind through the VIP passage, soon entering a long exit corridor of the airport.

The airport staff hadn’t arranged any special reception; there was no clearance or strict control within the hallway. Yet, as this assembly of people emerged, those passing by inside the corridor almost hesitated not at all to quickly and spontaneously clear the central walkway, moving far aside, watching cautiously and daring not to even breathe too heavily as the procession of about a dozen people whizzed by.

"We’re going to see Dongjun!"

In the moment they stepped out of the corridor, Old Master Liu, who had kept a grim face without uttering a single word, finally spoke. His voice rang with undeniable determination, sounding nothing like that of an elderly man.

After he spoke those four words, his figure immediately slipped into a black Mercedes whose door had already been opened by someone in advance.

"Yes, yes!"

Following Old Master Liu’s command, the person in charge hurriedly responded twice with respect, then personally closed the car door after watching the two elders get inside.

Soon, five different models of Mercedes Benz formed a well-ordered convoy, speeding toward the exit up front.

As the five Mercedes just departed from the airport, an emaciated old man, who looked as though he had just recovered from a serious illness, slowly emerged from a corner nearby, his gaze pensive as he watched the fading convoy that had just left.
