Chapter 214: Chapter 213 Hard to Adapt
"Do you have a problem with your ears? Get out of here now! Quick, don’t disrupt my class."
The teacher, seeing Gao Junjie and the other three standing there at their seats like statues, unmoving and wooden, grew impatient.
At the teacher’s words, Gao Junjie and the others finally snapped out of it and went pale as they walked toward the classroom door. As they left, they glared bitterly at the teacher, clearly holding a grudge. However, the teacher seemed utterly oblivious to their resentful stares and completely ignored them.
At the door, the school leaders arrived with a menacing presence, clearly in a rush and furious. Yet, upon reaching the classroom door and realizing who was teaching, they instantly moderated their demeanor. Not daring to speak loudly, they respectfully halted, knocked on the door, and spoke politely to him about the situation before he called out for the students. What did this tell you?
He had already received their background information and knew of their status, but still dared to address them with such discourtesy. Did he look like someone who would care about the grudges of a few green kids?
Watching Gao Junjie and his group leave the classroom, the teacher wasted no time and promptly resumed his lecture. While speaking, he cast a meaningful glance at Xiao Yi, who sat at a corner of the classroom, his expression unfazed by the events unfolding around him.
As the teacher began his lecture, the students turned their attention back to the podium. Yet, it was clear their focus hadn’t fully returned, as their occasional sidelong glances outside plainly showed.
Zhao Yuhua watched the Four Young Evil Masters head for the classroom door and withdrew her gaze. As her eyes moved away, they paused briefly on Xiao Yi, who looked calm as if the current moment was completely expected.
"Teachers, about this..."
Approaching the entrance, Gao Junjie, faced with the overtly displeased expressions of several school leaders, had an ominous premonition. Although he lost the arrogance typically worn on his face, he was not an ordinary student to be intimidated into trembling at the sight of school authorities. He mustered a forced but warm smile for the teachers.
He intended to ask if there was some misunderstanding, but before he could finish, a bespectacled teacher leading the group waved a hand to cut him off. The teacher’s gaze swept over them coldly as he said indifferently, "You are Gao Junjie, Wang Qiang, Li Han, and Zhao Hu, correct?"
"Yes... teacher..."
Gao Junjie’s response was cut short, and his expression turned rigid for a moment, unpleasant feelings stirring within. Nevertheless, he forced a smile and said.
"That’s enough. I am here to inform you that the School of Science has decided to dismiss you. In other words, starting today, you are no longer students of the School of Mathematics. Your actions will have nothing to do with the School of Mathematics. I do not wish to see you in any of the School of Mathematics’ classes, nor do I want you to express any opinions related to the School of Science in any form. If you do, we will pursue legal responsibility. Additionally, regarding your prior actions, Z University will retain the right to seek legal recourse. Furthermore, we are only here to notify you. If you have any objections to our decision, you may appeal directly to other school leaders."
Upon confirming their identities, the bespectacled teacher’s eyes showed a hint of revulsion, and he interrupted Gao Junjie once more, speaking in a very unwelcoming tone. Without waiting for a reaction, he turned and left.
The other teachers and school leaders following him also gave the students one last look of disdain before quickly exiting.
"Gao... Junjie... that person just now... seemed to be... a leader of our academy."
Watching the man with thick glasses, who gave off an intense scholarly aura, walking away with a group of men, all four of them turned pale and began to tremble as they stood there. Each one of them felt as if they had swallowed a bitter herb, weighed down with bitterness and heaviness. Each was filled with an immense sense of cluelessness and fear; none of them had expected things to turn out this way.
After a while, it was Wang Qiang who first broke the silence, but even his voice was laden with a heavy tremble.
No one responded to his words.
Everybody knew that the man with the glasses was the foremost figure in the academy.
At their first glance, they hadn’t recognized him, but by the time they had left the classroom, they knew who he was. Although they’d heard that he was deeply devoted to his academic pursuits and kept a low profile, seldom appearing within the school or in the sight of students, he was still the main authority figure in the academy, as well as a renowned national scientist and member of the Academy of Sciences. On their first day, their homeroom teacher had solemnly introduced him to them. His large portrait hung in the most prominent position on the first floor of the academy building and even on the school’s entrance celebrity board.
Ever since their enrollment, as students of this academy, although they had never been good students and hadn’t shown much interest in studies, they had been somewhat curious about this well-known academician, hoping to see him one day. However, they hadn’t expected to meet him like this, and for him to take the initiative to meet them—but for what purpose...
And it was precisely because the person who had spoken to them was him that the bitterness in their hearts intensified.
This indicated one thing: they were going to be expelled, and this was definitely no joke, and might not be reversible!
But... what... was happening?
How had this low-profile academician suddenly sought them out? Why was he suddenly insisting on expelling them?
Moreover, they didn’t even know this person, so why was his gaze toward them so hostile?
Gao Junjie’s mind was filled with confusion.
Just yesterday, they had reveled in the thrilling sensation of having the power to expel others, and they had even just celebrated their victory. Yet, they couldn’t have imagined that in the blink of an eye, the same thing would happen to them!
This left them feeling completely out of their element, unable to adapt to their sudden reversal of fortunes.
