Chapter 151: Chapter 154: When Did You Guys Start Hooking Up?
"I don’t like it."
Zhao Yuhua stared coldly at Wang Qiang, uttering the words as concisely as she usually did, her tone as cool as ever. But each word she spoke resonated with such force. "I don’t like it"—could there be a more direct, clearer, or more powerful reason?
Wang Qiang and Zhao Yuhua’s gazes met only briefly before he lowered his head, unable to hold her stare. He couldn’t help stepping aside to clear a path for her as he saw Zhao Yuhua approaching.
"I never asked him to do anything for me."
After taking a few steps, Zhao Yuhua paused once again to leave those words behind before continuing on her way.
She left behind Wang Qiang, who was bowing his head low, his expression indiscernible, and the crowd around them that started murmuring in disapproval.
"I won’t give up!"
Just then, Gao Junjie, who had been kneeling on the ground, rigidly holding the fresh flowers, and unable to muster a smile on his ashen face, suddenly stood up and shouted at Zhao Yuhua’s receding figure.
Zhao Yuhua’s strides faltered slightly, and her brows furrowed briefly, but ultimately she said nothing and continued walking toward her seat.
"So lame, this idiot. Back and forth with just the same line,"
Zeng Xiaoxiao watched Gao Junjie, who was red in the face and tightly watching Zhao Yuhua’s departing back. She scoffed disdainfully, stretching lazily, "If he had the guts, he’d just go up and take Zhao the Witch down."
Like Zeng Xiaoxiao, there were many in the crowd who felt the same way. Most of them knew that Gao Junjie had more than once courageously uttered that line, but no one dared to speak their mind as directly as she did.
Zhao the Witch, taken down!
Hearing the shocking words that came out of Zeng Xiaoxiao’s mouth, Xiao Yi suddenly felt his head overfill with black lines.
However, upon reflection, the nickname "Zhao the Witch" did seem quite fitting for Zhao Yuhua. Of course, his concept of "witch" was not the ordinary one; Zhao Yuhua’s icy goddess aura, which was far from the traditional voluptuous witch, gave him the impression of a smart borderline witch.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Zeng Xiaoxiao screamed in surprise, poking Xiao Yi’s arm vigorously.
"What’s wrong?"
Xiao Yi had just opened a book, ready to skim through the content for the upcoming class when Zeng Xiaoxiao poked him, prompting him to ask involuntarily.
"Look."
Zeng Xiaoxiao pointed to the side.
"This..."
Following the direction of Zeng Xiaoxiao’s finger, Xiao Yi turned to look and was immediately startled, seeing the icy goddess Zhao Yuhua, who he had just mentally criticized as a witch, walking toward their direction.
"What is she doing coming over here?"
Xiao Yi couldn’t help but ask.
"How would I know? I wanted to ask you the same thing. It looked like she was here for you. Her gaze seemed to be fixed on you the whole time. Hey, don’t tell me you’ve gone and flirted with her?"
Zeng Xiaoxiao pursed her lips as she spoke, feeling increasingly that something was amiss. It really seemed as if Zhao Yuhua had come specifically for Xiao Yi. Unable to help herself, she turned her head and stared at Xiao Yi as she asked.
"What nonsense are you talking about!"
In the midst of speaking, Zhao Yuhua had already approached. Xiao Yi, fearing that Zhao Yuhua had overheard Zeng Xiaoxiao’s remarks and that it would lead to unnecessary trouble, quickly gave her a fierce glare. Then he lifted his head, a slight smile on his face, and said to Zhao Yuhua who had come close, "Classmate Zhao, is there something you need?"
"I want to switch seats with you, okay?"
But Zhao Yuhua didn’t pay any attention to what he’d said and instead glanced in his direction before turning to the boy sitting next to him and speaking. Although she framed her statement as a question, the tone of her voice left no room for the boy to refuse.
However, that boy didn’t seem to dare to say no. Seeing Zhao Yuhua’s gaze turn toward him, his face had already turned red. Upon hearing her speak, he seemed unsure if he actually understood her words. He only knew that she wanted to sit there and quickly blurted out an "Ah," in a panic, hastily adding, "Okay, okay!"
With that, he stood up and gave up his seat.
"Thank you."
Watching the boy, his face nearly as red as the roots of his ears, awkwardly gathering his belongings to stand up, Zhao Yuhua’s ordinarily icy demeanor showed a slight thaw as her lips moved stiffly to utter a muted "Thank you."
Then she pulled out a pristine white tissue and started to meticulously wipe down the desk.
Xiao Yi had offered a friendly greeting in vain and couldn’t help feeling a bit awkward as he touched his nose. At the same time, he looked at Zhao Yuhua, who was absorbed in cleaning her desk and chair, with a touch of surprise. He didn’t understand why Zhao Yuhua would suddenly decide to sit next to him. But then, he remembered the scene on his first day of school and pieced it together with what had just transpired, vaguely grasping what Zhao Yuhua might be intending—she no longer wanted to interact with Gao Junjie. Yet, within such a large classroom and with so many seats available, as the recent incident showed, no one would dare refuse to switch seats with her. So why, of all places, did she choose the seat next to his?
"What’s there to be so arrogant about, seriously."
Zeng Xiaoxiao watched Zhao Yuhua wipe down her desk with a cold expression and couldn’t help puckering her lips and humming in disapproval.
The sound of Zeng Xiaoxiao’s voice snapped Xiao Yi out of his thoughts. He shook his head, looked at Zeng Xiaoxiao’s indignantly puffed-up face, and chuckled, "Class is about to start, let’s focus on the lesson, alright? Why bother with what others are doing?"
"It’d be fine if she was just being conceited on her own, it had nothing to do with me. But why did she have to come to my turf, completely uninvited? This is too much."
Zeng Xiaoxiao still sounded huffy.
"What a load of nonsense you’re spouting. Your turf, her turf—the bell’s rung for class, just pay attention to the lecture already."
Xiao Yi was somewhat exasperated, truly clueless as to what on earth was going through Zeng Xiaoxiao’s head. She sounded like she was talking about gang territories.
"Hey, you’re always taking her side. Did you two really start something?"
As the bell for class rang, Zeng Xiaoxiao took out her textbooks—which she considered utterly useless—and with wide, wary eyes, she leaned toward Xiao Yi and whispered her question.
"Please, use your brain, would you? Didn’t you see that just now when I greeted her, she completely ignored me? Besides, just look at me. Do I seem like someone who would... who would know her?"
Xiao Yi, resigned, put down his textbook, turned his head, and gave Zeng Xiaoxiao a roll of his eyes. He gently poked her forehead with his finger and chided softly, "What silly things are you conjuring up in your head?"

(I’ve lost track of which update this is by now, but that’s all for the moment. These past few days have truly been exhausting, with hosting friends and such, leaving me completely drained.
