Chapter 145: Chapter 148
Accompanying Fatty Tang’s flurry of beatings, a chorus of wails erupted from the crowd, along with the clattering of sticks and the thud of machetes hitting the ground.
In the blink of an eye, more than ten thugs, including the gang leader, were all lying on the ground, some clutching their arms, others their heads, and still others their chests, wailing miserably on the pavement.
As he observed the thugs lying around, looking at him with eyes filled with sheer terror, Fatty Tang himself couldn’t help but be completely stunned. Although he had great confidence in Xiao Yi and knew that with Xiao Yi’s help there would certainly be no problems, he still hadn’t expected it would be so easy to completely handle these people.
It seemed like he had charged into the crowd as if into a land with no one around, those thugs just suddenly seemed to lose their strength; even though their machetes were very close, they just couldn’t bring them down, letting him mercilessly whip them.
He knew it must have been Xiao Yi secretly lending a hand, but he hadn’t seen Xiao Yi make a move at all, he seemed to have been standing aside watching the whole time?
What was going on?
Puzzled, Fatty Tang looked at Xiao Yi, but Xiao Yi simply looked calm, a slight smile on his face, as if all that was happening had nothing to do with him at all.
Li Ling, hearing the wailing of the thugs, finally opened her eyes. When she saw the thugs writhing on the ground and Fatty Tang standing there unharmed, steel rebar in hand, her face became completely shrouded in disbelief.
Could this Classmate Tang be so formidable?
Were all these thugs really taken down by this chubby Classmate Tang?
It was just too incredible, right?
After a while, the thug leader finally snapped out of his pain and saw that Fatty Tang seemed distracted and wasn’t paying attention to him. Trying to sneak away, he barely made a move when Xiao Yi, with a hint of a cold smile on his lips, stood up and rushed over, grabbing him and dragging him back in front of Fatty Tang as he sneered, "Thinking of running? Not so easy!"
"You son of a bitch, calling so many people to chop me, thinking you can just run away? No way in hell!"
Fatty Tang also snapped back to reality, and looking at the gang leader in front of him, he remembered how he had brought so many people to besiege him, and how ferociously they had attacked. If it weren’t for Xiao Yi today, he would certainly have been done for. His heart hardened, he grabbed the gang leader and delivered two loud slaps to Brother Shui’s face.
"Kid, you... don’t mess around!"
Brother Shui’s eyes saw stars from the two heavy slaps from Fatty Tang. It took a while for his vision to clear and as he looked at the fierce expression in Fatty Tang’s small eyes on his chubby face, he couldn’t help but tremble with fear.
"You bastard, I’ll teach you to torment girls under the light of day!"
Fatty Tang ignored Brother Shui’s words and delivered two consecutive punches straight to his chest.
Although Fatty Tang had never trained, his body size and his fists, so big and strong, infused with rage, were certainly too much for the average person to take. Two punches landed, and Brother Shui immediately spat out a mouthful of sour liquid, feeling as if his stomach was churning.
"Kid... Leave some leeway for the future, so you can meet again without hard feelings. Don’t go too far!"
After delivering a couple of vicious punches and continuously yanking on someone earlier, Fatty Tang also felt a bit winded. He took a break, allowing Brother Shui to slowly catch his breath, wipe the sour liquid at the corner of his mouth, and look at Fatty Tang with a hint of fear in his eyes.
Having already vented some of his anger with those two punches, Fatty Tang’s rage reignited upon hearing Brother Shui’s words.
"Ah!"
This punch was incomparable to the previous ones. Brother Shui immediately felt as if his shoulder bone had been shattered and let out a piercing scream, covering his shoulder and rolling on the ground in agony.
"You bastard, go to hell!"
Fatty Tang delivered another blow, smashing it viciously onto his other shoulder.
Brother Shui screamed in agony once more, rolling to the other side. All the hooligans were intimidated by Fatty Tang’s ferocity, their eyes filled with fear as they looked at him. They finally realized this fatty wasn’t a pushover; his attacks were just as ruthless as any of the gangsters’, if not more so. They didn’t even dare let out cries of pain anymore, afraid that any sound of their suffering would attract the fatty’s wrath upon them as well.
Fortunately, after beating Brother Shui with two sticks, Fatty Tang seemed to have cooled off and showed no intention of hitting them anymore. Instead, he turned his head and, with a look that included Zheng Xun, turned towards Xiao Yi, "Boss, how should we deal with these thugs?"
Hearing Fatty Tang calling Xiao Yi boss, everyone was stunned, finally taking notice of this quiet and skinny young man. They all wore incredulous expressions, as they had initially thought the man before them was Fatty Tang’s underling and had looked down on him, especially the gangsters. During the fight, they hadn’t seen him, but when their boss tried to run away, it was him who first sharply emerged. They loathed this sort of sneaky bastard the most.
But now, hearing Fatty Tang, who was apparently seeking his advice on how to proceed, everyone tensed up instantly, forgetting their previous thoughts. They looked at Xiao Yi nervously, like prisoners awaiting judgment.
"How many times have you eaten here in total?"
Xiao Yi didn’t respond to Fatty Tang’s question but instead casually grabbed another gangster who was with Brother Shui from the start and glared at him with an icy stare.
"Th... th... three times!"
The gangster, questioned by Xiao Yi and faced with his icy demeanor, felt a chill in his heart and even his speech began to tremble.
"Classmate Li, is what he said true? Did they really dine and dash here only three times?"
Xiao Yi turned his gaze towards Li Ling, who stood there dumbfounded, and smiled as he asked.
"Yes, because I also just moved to this area not long ago."
Although Li Ling didn’t know what this guy called boss by Fatty Tang was planning to do, she still hurriedly answered his question.(To be continued.
