Chapter 39: Chapter 39 Don’t rush, take your time

At night, in an alley not far from the Yang family residence.

Lin Fan, having just parked the car, watched with amusement as Yang Linglong on the passenger seat was taking a call.

"The repair shop owner just said the car’s damage was quite serious, and it’ll take at least five days to fix. After it’s repaired, we can go out and have fun,"

Yang Linglong, who had hung up the phone, still had cheeks that were tender and pink.

After the day’s events, the relationship between the two had undergone a significant change.

"Actually, you don’t need to go out to have fun."

Lin Fan said with a smile as he pulled Yang Linglong’s small hand to his lips.

The passionate kiss in the mountains was still echoing in his mind.

"Stop it, you big pervert, I’m not playing with you anymore,"

Yang Linglong, blushing like peach blossoms, withdrew her arm.

But she didn’t get out of the car.

"A man who lusts is a true hero, right? So, do you like it or not?"

Lin Fan certainly understood such a hint.

After undoing his seat belt, he pulled Yang Linglong into his embrace.

"I don’t like it at all... stop touching me..."

Yang Linglong bit her lower lip, putting up a symbolic struggle.

But she soon melted into Lin Fan’s palm.

"I remember when I ran away, I seemed to hear someone shouting loudly at me, saying as long as I returned, I could do whatever I wanted, right?"

Lin Fan puckered his lips, smiling at the peachy-faced Yang Linglong.

Such a delicate flower, he really wanted to pluck.

"You must have heard wrong... anyway, I’m not wrong... go find whoever you heard it from!"

Yang Linglong, her heartbeat racing, no longer dared to look into Lin Fan’s eyes.

If her body had not been in discomfort, she really did not know if she would have agreed.

She struggled with all her remaining rationality to break free from Lin Fan’s embrace.

Pushing open the car door and stepping out, she took a deep breath.

Only then did she turn around, her eyes full of tender affection as she looked at Lin Fan.

"I will remember today for the rest of my life, my great hero. Just give me a little more time..."

Before Lin Fan could respond, Yang Linglong had already run off like a gust of wind.

Watching her fiery silhouette, Lin Fan couldn’t help but reveal a slight smile.

Unlucky in marriage, fortunate in love.

This, too, could be considered a blessing in disguise.

But for now, he still had to take care of some minor troubles for his nominal wife.

So he drove to the entrance of a club in the city.

Luo Shaoyong was already waiting there.

"Mr. Lin, they’re here."

Luo Shaoyong led Lin Fan to a corner inside the hall.

Following the direction of Luo Shaoyong’s finger.

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, one could clearly see a black sedan entering the parking lot.

As the car door opened, a man in his thirties got out.

With a cold exterior, he lowered his head and walked into the coffee shop.

"Mr. Ning, you’re back!"

The few people waiting there early were all executives of Ning Group.

Seeing him enter, they hurriedly got up.

They respectfully addressed him.

He was the once heir to Ning Group.

Also, Ning Mengyao’s cousin, Ning Changfeng.

"Haven’t seen you for a few years, you all seem pretty good," Ning Changfeng said in a raffish tone, not bothering with pleasantries as he sat down on a chair.

It was only after he had taken his seat that the others dared to sit.

"Thanks to Mr. Ning, we’re doing quite well," they said.

"After several years, Mr. Ning is still as dynamic as ever," the people hurriedly complimented.

Their cramped actions made it clear they weren’t exactly willing participants.

"Enough with the brown-nosing, cut it out," Luo Shaoyong said. "The reason I called you here today is because I want a show of hands."

As he took a cigarette out of the pack and put it in his mouth, Ning Changfeng produced a lighter and spoke.

"Starting tomorrow, I will return to the Ning Group. Are you going to support me or not?"

This blunt demand caught the executives off guard.

Having worked with him for several years, they were well aware of his ruthlessness.

Therefore, nobody dared to speak up easily.

They could only glance at one another.

In their minds, they were wondering why he had suddenly returned.

"Your silence is a refusal to cooperate with me, huh? It looks like my sister treated you pretty well these past few years, feeding you until you’ve forgotten that you were once Laozi’s dogs."

Taking a deep drag on his cigarette, Ning Changfeng blew smoke directly at them.

His arrogant demeanor showed he didn’t consider them human at all.

"Mr. Ning, when the old chairman was in charge, he said that you had nothing to do with the company anymore."

One of them had no choice but to speak up, trying to hide his frustration.

"That was between my grandfather and me," Ning Changfeng retorted. "It’s none of your business as mere employees. What you need to understand is this: whatever you are today, the Ning Family gave it to you. No matter how big the misunderstanding between my grandfather and me, we can’t cut off our blood ties."

Ning Changfeng sneered, "I am the eldest grandson and therefore the rightful first in line to inherit the Ning Group. My return this time is to take back everything I’ve lost. So tonight, I want an attitude from you. Don’t rush to answer; let me show you something nice first!"

While speaking, Ning Changfeng pulled several photographs from his pocket.

He tossed them onto the table.

Seeing their own wives and children in the pictures made their faces turn pale.

"Mr. Ning, what do you mean by this?"

The deputy, who had just spoken, instinctively grabbed the photo of his daughter and asked. The angle clearly indicated the photos had been taken covertly.

It also proved that their personal details were thoroughly known to the other party.

"No special meaning," Ning Changfeng said coolly. "I haven’t been in Jiangning these years, but it doesn’t mean I don’t have brothers. I’ll say it again: if I have meat to eat, you’ll have soup to drink. But if anyone dares to smash my pot, then we’ll all go hungry together."

Crossing his legs arrogantly, Ning Changfeng’s contemptuous gaze swept over everyone present.

This was a threat.

A blatant threat.

"Mr. Ning, just tell us how to cooperate," said several people as they wiped the cold sweat from their foreheads.

This was indeed in keeping with Ning Changfeng’s way of doing things.

After all these years, he had not changed.

He was still as cruel and heartless as ever.

"My requirements are simple. I take back what’s mine, and you keep your mouths shut and stay in your seats. If anyone makes trouble, don’t blame me for not recognizing them afterward."

Ning Changfeng stubbed out his cigarette sharply.

He stood up and walked outside.

The executives were left sitting there in fear, trembling.

Watching his receding figure, they silently cursed him.

But no one dared to voice it aloud.

"Lin, this guy hasn’t done too badly for himself in Lin City these past few years, setting up a security company in name, with fifty or sixty men under him. I’m afraid he’s not come back with good intentions. Should I take care of him first?" Luo Shaoyong asked in a low voice.

They were, of course, accustomed to handling unsavory tasks.

"Don’t rush it, take it slow. Sun Ba’s already folded, and as for this kid, if he’s not as tough as me, I’d like to see how much longer he can jump around. I’ve got a feeling his return is not that simple. When you have time, help me look into his network in Lin City, see if there’s anyone noteworthy."

Even if Lin Fan did not know whether Sun Ba’s sudden proposal to marry Ning Mengyao had anything to do with him,

the unexpected reversal of his choices made Lin Fan feel that the matter was not so simple.

"No problem, I’ll dig up his roots as soon as possible. If there’s any issue, I’ll call you immediately."

Ever since witnessing Lin Fan burst out of his clothes, Luo Shaoyong was exceedingly polite to him.

Such a powerful figure was not to be taken lightly.

"Alright, then I’ll leave it to you. I want to see what he’s got up his sleeve to just say he’s coming back and then do it!"

Lin Fan stood up, looking out of the floor-to-ceiling window at the black sedan slowly driving away.

Ning Changfeng’s return would probably catch Ning Mengyao off guard.

This time, she was in big trouble.
