Chapter 919: Chapter 915: Breach of Contract
One group consisted of worried-looking renovation workers, and the other was a bunch of casually dressed young men.
They all appeared to be about twenty-five or six years old, around the same age as Chen Yang.
Leading them was a young man wearing a gold necklace, slightly overweight and not particularly handsome.
Chen Yang entered and glanced at both groups before walking up to the renovation workers: "Boss, what’s going on here?"
His entrance was very quiet, so no one noticed when he came in.
Once he spoke, everyone’s eyes immediately turned towards him.
The renovation workers looked as if they’d found a savior, their faces suddenly relaxed.
"Oh, Chen Boss, you’re finally here,"
One of the workers sighed in relief, then immediately pointed at the young men, saying, "These people claim this house is theirs, and they won’t let us renovate it. They want us to tear down the renovations, and even compensate for their losses!"
The renovation worker was full of worry, they were just laborers and never intended to get involved in something like this.
After hearing this, Chen Yang understood what was going on.
"Boss, don’t worry, continue to work with your team. If they tear it down, you won’t be held responsible, don’t worry."
His words immediately reassured the renovation workers.
"Alright, alright, then Chen Boss, we’ll continue our work."
The worker nodded repeatedly and led the others back to continue their work.
Just as the workers left, one of the young men in a white T-shirt came over aggressively with a few others.
"So, it’s you, the guy who rented this place, right?" the young man stepped forward and asked Chen Yang with a somewhat arrogant expression.
Chen Yang felt no anger, thinking that for these few people, he had no reason to be upset.
"Yeah, I rented this house. What’s the matter, is there a problem?" Chen Yang responded calmly.
The young man seemed disdainful upon hearing this and smirked.
"Since you rented it, it’s settled."
The young man sneered and said, "I’ll give you two days to move all your stuff and renovations out, otherwise don’t blame me for being unmerciful and throwing all your belongings out."
The young man’s tone was unfriendly and his words domineering.
One might be frightened by this under normal circumstances.
But Chen Yang just wanted to laugh.
"You say move and I have to move, why is that? I rented this place, so to a certain extent, it belongs to me until the lease expires." Chen Yang’s tone wasn’t loud, but it was very firm.
"Exactly, how can you justify this? Just because you have more people, you can bully others?" Annie chimed in.
Her tone wasn’t pleasant, she couldn’t stand the attitude of the young men.
Annie’s statement immediately drew the young man’s attention.
Looking at Annie’s stunning face, a hint of unusual emotion flashed in his eyes, but it disappeared quickly without any corresponding actions.
"Heh, didn’t expect you to be lucky with women, scoring such a pretty girl." The young man chuckled, teasing Chen Yang.
Chen Yang frowned upon hearing this.
Annie blushed immediately.
"What nonsense are you talking about? We’re discussing the house, why bring this up?" Annie rebuked sharply, blushing with anger.
The young man glanced at Annie, his expression turning mocking again.
"Alright, let’s talk about the house." The young man opened his bag, rummaged for a while, then pulled out two stacks of red bills and handed them to Chen Yang.
Chen Yang looked at the money in front of him, somewhat puzzled.
"What do you mean by this?" Chen Yang asked in confusion.
"Heh, of course, it’s the rent for this house. I don’t want to rent it to you anymore, so I’m returning it." The young man sneered.
Chen Yang initially thought these young men were just here to cause trouble.
But now it seemed this young man was indeed somewhat related to the house’s owner, the lady he dealt with last time.
"The lady who rented me the house last time, what is she to you?" Chen Yang squinted his eyes and asked.
The young man’s expression unchanged: "She’s my mom."
"Well then, since she’s your mom, you should know she signed a contract with me, right?" Chen Yang pursued.
The mention of the contract made the young man look even more disdainful: "Yeah, I know about the contract, but so what? I’m returning the rent, isn’t that enough? Why bring up so much?"
"Right, we just don’t want to rent it to you anymore, take the money and get lost, before things get worse!"
"If you know what’s good for you, leave now—this is our property, making a fuss won’t benefit you at all."
The young man urged Chen Yang to take the money and leave, his companions impatiently urging him as well.
They all looked like they were about to lose their tempers if Chen Yang delayed any longer.
"Hehe, since you admitted there’s a contract, then there’s no more to say. I’m not taking this money, and I won’t terminate the contract!" Chen Yang sneered and rejected bluntly.
The young man’s anger flared immediately upon Chen Yang’s refusal.
"Not terminating? So you mean you’re squatting in my place?" The young man raised his voice.
Chen Yang replied calmly, "Get this straight, I rented it, the usage rights are mine. The one squatting here seems to be you, doesn’t it?"
"Hey, damn it, you think my house is yours? You’re dreaming!"
The young man was furious, believing he had every right.
However, anyone with a bit of common sense knows.
Renting something gives the usage rights to the renter.
Before the lease expires, to take it back means paying a penalty, not simply returning the rent.
"If you want to make a fuss, I’ll call the police. If not, leave and stop delaying renovations in my shop, understand?" Chen Yang had no intention of arguing further, offering only two choices.
Either he leaves now, or they discuss it at the station.
The young man was already irate. Seeing Chen Yang so resolute, not giving any room for negotiation, he felt humiliated.
So he stopped talking and suddenly acted out!
"Damn it! You dare act arrogant in my house? You haven’t learned your lesson!" the young man roared, grabbing a wooden bench beside him and swung it at Chen Yang.
The sudden move startled Annie.
Chen Yang was equally surprised; he hadn’t expected the young man to resort to violence.
But his reflexes were fast.
Seeing the bench coming his way, he swiftly reacted, lifting his leg and kicking the bench.
With a thud, the bench shattered, the part meeting Chen Yang’s leg even splintered into wood chips!
Staring at the broken bench, the young man was dumbfounded.
The others around were equally stunned; none of them expected this outcome!
