"Hello, hello, Boss Lin. I’m Niu Ming. I look forward to working with you in the future," Niu Ming said quickly after hearing Chen Yang’s introduction, stepping forward to greet Lin Hui.

However, when Lin Hui heard that Yang Ruoxi wasn’t present, his face showed slight displeasure. Even so, he nodded faintly, "Hello. Let’s discuss the collaboration matter later. Right now, I’d like to first see the place where you plan to raise the wild cattle."

Lin Hui’s attitude suddenly turned cold, and Chen Yang keenly noticed the shift.

So he didn’t bother with pleasantries. Since Lin Hui wanted to see the place, they might as well go check it out.

"Niu Ming, take Mr. Lin to have a look then," Chen Yang said.

"Hmm, okay!"

Niu Ming nodded heavily and immediately started talking with Lin Hui.

Since Chen Yang had discovered the issue with wild animals in the back mountain last time, Niu Ming had chosen a different area.

He was planning to use a small mountain across from Liuhe Village for grazing wild cattle.

The grass and water resources there were abundant, and the forest was dense enough to meet the standards for raising wild cattle.

Niu Ming explained earnestly while leading Lin Hui and Chen Yang toward the mountain.

After walking for over twenty minutes, the three arrived at the foot of the mountain.

"Boss Lin, this is the mountain," Niu Ming said, pointing toward the dense woods.

Lin Hui nodded indifferently, "This mountain is big enough. I observed the water and grass on the way, and it seems suitable. If you want to raise cattle, go ahead. We’ll talk specifics after you’ve raised them."

Niu Ming was stunned when he heard Lin Hui’s words.

He immediately picked up on the veiled meaning.

"Talk specifics after they’re raised"—did that mean Lin Hui wasn’t committed to buying them later? And judging from his tone earlier, he didn’t even seem willing to offer any guidance or share experience anymore.

This was completely inconsistent with what had been agreed upon earlier.

So Niu Ming froze, glancing at Chen Yang in surprise.

What Niu Ming could hear, Chen Yang could certainly hear as well.

Seeing Niu Ming’s look, Chen Yang couldn’t hold back and asked, "Mr. Lin, didn’t you say on the phone earlier that you’d offer some guidance? Could you please share a few tips with my buddy here, like what to watch out for?"

"My buddy here has some understanding of this project, but, of course, he doesn’t know as much as a professional like you."

Chen Yang had clearly noticed the shift in Lin Hui’s attitude. Normally, Chen Yang wouldn’t even bother with someone like him.

But this time, for the sake of Niu Ming’s entrepreneurial efforts, he held back and tried to remain polite.

To his surprise, Lin Hui became even more insufferable. Hearing Chen Yang’s request, Lin Hui’s face immediately darkened, visibly unhappy.

"Mr. Chen, did I ever say such a thing to you?" Lin Hui snapped.

"Uh... you mentioned it to Ruoxi," Chen Yang hesitated before responding.

"Ha," Lin Hui sneered coldly. "So you know I told Ruoxi, not you."

When Lin Hui said this, Chen Yang was already on the verge of losing his temper. It was obvious Lin Hui’s words were directed at Yang Ruoxi.

But before Chen Yang could explode, Lin Hui turned to Niu Ming and asked, "You want to raise cattle? How much capital do you have?"

Although Niu Ming noticed Lin Hui’s displeasure, he didn’t understand why. He responded in a respectful tone, "Uhh... I have a hundred thousand yuan. I plan to buy a dozen or so calves to start with..."

"Hahaha!" Before Niu Ming could even finish, Lin Hui burst into laughter.

After laughing, he went straight into mocking, "A hundred thousand yuan? You think a hundred thousand yuan justifies asking me for guidance? Do you even realize that’s barely two days’ worth of my income?"

Lin Hui’s mockery was painfully clear, and Niu Ming could no longer ignore its meaning.

As he walked off, he spat one last insult, "What a goddamned waste of my time. Two filthy farmers dreaming of flipping their lives around. Laughable!"

Lin Hui’s words landed like a sharp blade, striking deeply at Niu Ming’s pride. His face changed drastically, and his self-esteem took a heavy blow.

His eyes even glistened with unshed tears, though he held them back with all his might...

Seeing Niu Ming’s reaction tore at Chen Yang’s heart.

As a man himself, how could Chen Yang not understand the torment Niu Ming was feeling inside?

All Niu Ming wanted was to chase his dreams and make something of himself. Was that so wrong?

As the wave of distress surged through him, Chen Yang exploded with fury! He barked a command, stopping Lin Hui in his tracks!

Chen Yang’s roar was deafening, shaking Lin Hui to his core and causing his body to flinch.

When Lin Hui realized it was Chen Yang shouting at him, his temper flared instantly, shooting sky-high.

"What the hell are you screaming for? What, you wanna hit me?" Lin Hui snarled provocatively, turning back to face Chen Yang. "I see—I forgot to insult you too earlier. What, you itching for a beating or something?"

"Let me tell you, calling you Mr. Chen was already more respect than you deserve. You’re nothing but a filthy farmer. Do you really think you’re worthy of my courtesy?"

Lin Hui’s viciousness was on full display as his words grew nastier by the second.

Chen Yang’s face darkened further with each word.

Yet Lin Hui remained oblivious to how grave the situation was becoming, continuing to flap his mouth ceaselessly.

"Last time, when I ran into you at my restaurant, I thought you might be someone impressive. I put effort into looking you up, only to find out you’re just some lousy village doctor! Disgusting! Someone like you thinks you can be with Ruoxi?"

"Let me tell you something—I’ll start pursuing Ruoxi as of today. If you know what’s good for you, back off and stop embarrassing yourself!"

If Lin Hui’s earlier words were merely offensive, then these final remarks were outright suicidal!
