Chapter 824: Chapter 820: Encountering the Fierce Tiger Again
After dealing with these two fellows, Chen Yang turned around and walked to the edge of the herbal field to inspect its condition.
As he approached, Chen Yang was genuinely surprised to find that the herbs in the field appeared to be growing in a rather miraculous way.
Logically speaking, herbs transplanted from the mountains to the home garden should go through a period of wilting and struggle—surviving alone would be a blessing from the gods.
But these herbs hadn’t shown any signs of wilting. They were thriving, lush and verdant, even healthier than those that grew naturally in the mountains.
"How odd... How could this happen? Could it be because of the magical ginseng?"
Chen Yang couldn’t make sense of it, so he could only attribute it to the magical ginseng.
Otherwise, based on normal plant growth patterns, these herbs absolutely shouldn’t be growing this well.
Although Chen Yang felt this way, he wasn’t entirely certain.
To figure out if the magical ginseng was indeed the reason, he decided to prepare another herbal field for comparison.
Once the thought crossed his mind, Chen Yang immediately acted, grabbing some tools from the storage room.
He spent the entire morning tilling another herbal field in the backyard.
To differentiate between the two fields, Chen Yang deliberately left some distance between them.
"In the afternoon, while training Brother Eagle, I’ll have Lucky find some more herbs to bring back."
After finishing the herbal field, Chen Yang clapped his hands and wrapped up the work.
By then, it was already late in the day, the sun hanging high overhead. He went to the kitchen to make a meal and after eating lunch, he rested until two in the afternoon.
Once the sun was less intense, he took Brother Eagle and Lucky and headed out.
A wolfdog padded at his heels, while a golden eagle flew overhead.
Chen Yang looked fiercer than even the seasoned hunters.
He led the two creatures to the usual training spot, a cleared area at the edge of the mountain—a great training location with hills, grasslands, and nearby forests.
"Brother Eagle, go!"
Upon arrival, Chen Yang signaled Brother Eagle to attack.
Having trained with Chen Yang several times, Brother Eagle’s reaction speed and execution ability were top-notch.
The moment Chen Yang spoke, the eagle moved like an unsheathed sword, flashing suddenly into a blur of shadow as it darted forward.
In comparison, Lucky came across as a complete doofus.
Lucky just bobbed its head, barked clumsily, and accomplished absolutely nothing else.
Chen Yang thought about training Lucky as well while he had the opportunity.
But seeing its clueless demeanor, Chen Yang decided to wait—let it watch Brother Eagle’s training for a few sessions first before teaching it.
Anyway, personality isn’t something you can change in a day or two.
"Lucky, pay attention! Learn from your Brother Eagle. You’re a wolfdog, you can’t afford to be worse than Brother Eagle, understand?"
Chen Yang looked down at Lucky, patiently advising him.
Woof woof!
Lucky barked vigorously in return, as if agreeing with Chen Yang.
Chen Yang smiled faintly and didn’t bother with him further, focusing instead on training Brother Eagle.
Brother Eagle had consumed plenty of body-enhancing Elixirs recently, and now its speed, strength, and piercing gaze had improved to an almost frightening degree.
If ordinary villagers were to see Brother Eagle in action during Chen Yang’s training, they would certainly be scared out of their wits.
Brother Eagle had become insanely strong, especially with its aerial attack capability—most people wouldn’t even have a chance to fight back.
Chen Yang trained Brother Eagle for over an hour, stopping around three o’clock. He then decided to venture into the mountains to gather some herbs, taking Lucky along.
Brother Eagle continued circling in the air, following Chen Yang closely.
It looked just like a drone, keeping an aerial lookout over the surroundings.
"Lucky, you saw Brother Eagle’s performance—it’s your turn to shine now. Don’t embarrass yourself, or Brother Eagle might look down on you even more." Chen Yang patted Lucky’s head as he spoke.
Lucky seemed to take the words to heart.
It began growling menacingly, as though preparing to unleash something fierce.
Chen Yang couldn’t help but chuckle and left it alone.
Once they reached a certain spot, Lucky took the initiative to help Chen Yang search for herbs.
Lucky’s nose was truly exceptional—having it assist in herb hunting was more than just a help; it made the process effortless.
Simply following Lucky’s lead would guarantee finding a high-quality herb within ten minutes.
After about an hour of gathering herbs in the mountain, Chen Yang’s basket was nearly full. He planned to have Brother Eagle catch some wild game before heading back.
However, unexpectedly, as they were walking, Lucky suddenly froze in place, standing motionless for several seconds.
Right as Chen Yang was about to ask what was wrong, Lucky began barking furiously toward the left side, as though it had detected something extremely dangerous.
Chen Yang knew Lucky well—it might be goofy at times, but it was far from stupid.
If it acted this way, there had to be something lurking ahead!
"What’s over there? What did you see?" Chen Yang shouted as he looked in the direction Lucky was barking, questioning the wolfdog.
Woof woof woof woof...
Lucky, of course, couldn’t answer with words, only barking relentlessly toward the forest.
Meanwhile, Brother Eagle overhead began letting out sharp cries.
Its emotions clearly mirrored Lucky’s excitement, as though it had also spotted something unusual.
"What could it be?"
Seeing both Lucky and Brother Eagle so agitated, Chen Yang didn’t dare let his guard down—he immediately clenched his fists, ready for action.
About a minute later, Chen Yang heard rustling noises coming from the direction Lucky was barking.
This made Lucky bark even louder, its focus locked on the source of the sound.
Chen Yang picked up a nearby rock and lobbed it into the forest where the noise was coming from.
It was a casual throw, but unexpectedly, it actually struck something.
Roar~
The moment the rock made contact, a cry of pain echoed from the forest.
Upon hearing the sound, Chen Yang’s heart skipped a beat!
"A tiger!"
That was a tiger’s roar. Having heard it several times before, Chen Yang instantly identified it.
Knowing it was a tiger, Chen Yang felt a little more at ease.
He was confident in dealing with tigers, especially with Brother Eagle around—he had nothing to worry about.
"Is it the same one from last time? Why has it come to this edge area again?"
Chen Yang was puzzled. From where he stood, he couldn’t get a clear view of the tiger, so he maneuvered with Lucky to find a better vantage point.
Soon, he spotted a tiger crouched in the bushes.
Its eyes locked onto Chen Yang as his eyes locked onto it—a human and a tiger silently observing each other in the wilderness.
After a few moments of mutual gaze, Chen Yang recognized the tiger’s markings. It was indeed the same one that had descended the mountain previously.
"Lucky, stop barking."
Upon confirming the tiger, Chen Yang immediately told Lucky to stop barking—it was getting too noisy.
Lucky obeyed instantly but kept its fierce expression, teeth bared and ready to lunge at the tiger.
From Lucky’s tense posture, it looked as though it truly intended to charge at the tiger.
Chen Yang knew this mutt was just bluffing. If it actually had to make a move, it’d likely be scared witless. Consequently, he ignored Lucky entirely, keeping his full attention on the tiger instead.
