Chapter 87 - 87 87 The Piglet

87: Chapter 87: The Piglet 87: Chapter 87: The Piglet Day Two.

Nizi still came over early in the morning.

After asking if Nizi had eaten breakfast, Chen Yang dove into the kitchen to start the busy morning routine.

He prepared two breakfasts, and after they ate together, Nizi looked up at Chen Yang and asked, “Brother Chen Yang, is there anything we need to do today?

I don’t want to just stay in the clinic all day reading books!”

“You girl, you’re here as an intern!

If you don’t read books and learn knowledge, what are you thinking about working all day for?” Chen Yang said with a laugh, as he playfully tapped Nizi’s nose.

Having her nose tapped by Chen Yang, Nizi’s mouth immediately turned into an unhappy pout.

“But reading books is really boring, I just want to go around the farm with Brother Chen Yang, and also go up the mountain to gather some herbs and such!”

As she spoke, Nizi looked at Chen Yang with a pleading face, “Brother Chen Yang, please, take me with you for whatever it is you’re doing, okay?”

Seeing Nizi’s adorable expression, how could Chen Yang’s heart resist?

“Alright, fine!

Today I planned to go pick some grass for the rabbits, then head up the mountain to catch some more rabbits.

Do you want to come along?” Chen Yang said.

“Yes!”

Nizi agreed almost without thinking, her face full of excitement.

“Then it’s settled.

Let’s head out now while it’s still early.”

“Okay.”

Nizi set off with Chen Yang.

Carrying their baskets, they first went to the hills near Weed Slope to gather some grass and, incidentally, to check on how the wild chickens of Weed Slope were doing.

Walking in the fields not far from Weed Slope, Chen Yang and Nizi saw the figure of Brother Eagle.

Brother Eagle was pacing back and forth on top of the farm’s metal cages, looking very much like a guard patrolling the breeding grounds.

“Brother Eagle!” Chen Yang shouted from the fields.

Brother Eagle turned his head upon hearing the shout and upon seeing it was Chen Yang, he flapped his wings and flew over.

Seeing Brother Eagle charging towards them from afar, Nizi was so scared that she kept retreating.

The golden eagle’s diving speed was very fast, and it looked very intimidating!

Back when Chen Yang was not yet familiar with Brother Eagle, even he had been startled, let alone a girl like Nizi.

Brother Eagle screeched as he swooped to Chen Yang’s side and landed at his feet.

Looking at Brother Eagle, now standing erect up to his waist, Chen Yang stroked him a couple of times, “You’re quite obedient!

There’s plenty of wild boar offal at home!

Today, it’s all yours!”

Chirp chirp.

Upon hearing the praise, Brother Eagle cried out excitedly twice.

“Brother Chen Yang…

can you let Brother Eagle go first?

I’m a little scared with it here,” Nizi’s fearful voice came from behind.

Chen Yang turned around upon hearing this.

“Nizi, Brother Eagle is very well-behaved, he won’t attack you!

Don’t believe me?

Come over and see!” Chen Yang waved his hand, gesturing for Nizi to come closer.

Although nervous, Nizi deeply trusted what Chen Yang said.

With fists clenched tight, she slowly approached.

As she got close, Chen Yang quickly grabbed her hand and gently stroked Brother Eagle’s feathers.

Nizi’s face was covered with blushes… her mind on Chen Yang’s and her own hands.

“See, Brother Eagle is very gentle and won’t attack people,” Chen Yang said with a smile, seemingly unaware that he was holding Nizi’s hand.

“Mhm…

Mhm-hm!”

Nizi nodded, her face still red.

After Nizi overcame her fear of Brother Eagle, Chen Yang released her hand.

“Go on!

Keep an eye on Weed Slope for me, and from now on, I’ll give you offal to eat every day!” He patted Brother Eagle’s back, and Brother Eagle flew away.

Having sent Brother Eagle off, the two entered the hollow.

After collecting a lot of tendongrass, Chen Yang took Nizi back to feed the wild rabbits.

In the wild chicken breeding ground, there were plenty of insects for the wild chickens to be self-sufficient.

But the wild rabbit breeding ground was not where the rabbits originally lived.

Chen Yang worried they might not have enough food, which was why he behaved this way,

Moreover, many of the rabbits were pregnant.

They needed lots and lots of food to safely give birth.

After laying out the food, Chen Yang, carrying the basket, took Nizi up the mountain.

Returning to where they caught wild rabbits yesterday, Nizi still felt a bit scared.

Because yesterday, it was near here that they encountered the wild boar.

“Don’t be afraid, Nizi.

Didn’t we deal with that huge wild boar yesterday?” Chen Yang noticed what was on her mind and spoke up to comfort her.

Nizi smiled and nodded, following closely behind Chen Yang.

When they first arrived here, Nizi didn’t leave Chen Yang’s side and caught rabbits with him.

But as time passed, she became less afraid.

And following right behind Chen Yang, watching him catch rabbits, was somewhat boring, so she suggested, “Brother Chen Yang, how about I go nearby and help you gather some herbs?”

“Hmm…

Sure!

Just be careful on your own, and remember to call me if there’s anything!” Chen Yang replied with a smile and a nod.

Nizi following him was indeed affecting his performance.

After agreeing, Nizi left the area and went not far off to gather herbs.

Meanwhile, Chen Yang continued to catch rabbits.

After hunting around for a while, the basket was almost full.

“Looks like there aren’t many wild rabbits left around here!

Before, two or three would get caught every ten minutes, but now, even one in ten minutes is a blessing.” Chen Yang felt alarmed by the rapid decline in the number of local wild rabbits.

He was not like Heipi and the others.

Only thinking about immediate benefits.

To ensure a continuous supply of rabbits, they absolutely must not destroy the ecological environment of this area.

If too many rabbits were caught, it would be very hard for the population to grow.

“That should be enough!

Anyway, having over a hundred at home is plenty.” Chen Yang looked at the nearly full basket and didn’t feel like continuing.

If they really needed more rabbits at home, they could buy some piglets from the market and raise them in the farm.

With this thought in mind, Chen Yang picked up the basket, ready to find Nizi and head back.

However, as he approached the area where Nizi had the wild boar encounter yesterday, he saw Nizi squatting on the ground, amusing herself with three little wild piglets.

She even fed them some herbs she was holding.

Chen Yang walked over: “What’s…

what’s going on here?”

Hearing his voice, Nizi turned her head, her face innocently smiling as she said, “Brother Chen Yang!

I just ran into these!

They seemed really hungry, so I gave them some herbs to eat!”

“Do you know what these are?”

Chen Yang asked in astonishment.

“Aren’t they just two little pigs?” Nizi replied nonchalantly.

Chen Yang slapped his forehead, saying, “These are wild boar piglets!

It’s very likely that they’re the offspring of the wild boar from yesterday!”

“Ah!”

Upon hearing they were wild boars, Nizi suddenly screamed and then turned and flung herself into Chen Yang’s embrace.

Having been frightened by the wild boar yesterday, it was quite normal for her to react this way to the mention of one.

But Chen Yang holding Nizi in his arms was a bit taken aback.

However, his expression soon turned to a mischievous grin.

“Don’t be scared, they’re just boar piglets, nothing dangerous about them.” Chen Yang lightly patted Nizi’s back, comforting her.

As his arm patted her back, through the T-shirt, Chen Yang even felt the edge and contour of her bra.

Whew.

Comforted by Chen Yang, Nizi felt a bit better.

Slowly she withdrew from his embrace, her face flushed with blush.

She had hugged Chen Yang in a moment of panic, and now recalling it, she naturally felt a bit shy.

“Brother Chen Yang, what do we do with these piglets?” Nizi asked, her face red as she pointed to the three piglets nibbling on herbs not far away.

Chen Yang, with a somewhat reluctant and lingering taste, smacked his lips and then said, “Let’s take them home and raise them.

These small piglets will have a hard time surviving in the wild anyway!”

“We even have an empty pigsty at home, which is very convenient!”

While speaking, Chen Yang went over and loaded all the piglets that were busily munching on the herbs into his basket.

“Okay.”

Nizi nodded and then followed Chen Yang as they started to descend the mountain.
