Chen Yang heard this and didn’t think much of it, because until this morning, Wangcai still belonged to the Gu Family.

The Gu Family and the Wang Family had lots of ties in the provincial capital, so if Wang Hong and Wang Qingyue had met before, it wouldn’t be unusual.

"Haha, aren’t all wolf dogs like that? No distinguishing features, just a temper a bit odd, otherwise not much else." Chen Yang pretended not to know where Wangcai came from.

Because he didn’t want to mention that he’d had a conflict with the Gu Family members earlier this morning.

"Alright, maybe I was overthinking it." Wang Hong, hearing Chen Yang’s response, didn’t press the topic further. After resting for a bit, he immediately called over the bodyguards and started preparing for dinner.

Seeing this, Chen Yang, just as he had done yesterday, offered to help fetch water.

"Alright, sorry to trouble you, Brother Chen Yang." Wang Hong didn’t stand on ceremony and directly handed over his water jug to Chen Yang.

The others did the same.

After accepting the jugs one by one, Chen Yang prepared to take Wangcai along to fetch water.

Just then, Wang Hong turned toward Wang Qingyue, smiling as he said, "Qingyue, aren’t you going with Brother Chen Yang to fetch water today?"

Chen Yang heard this and paused for a moment, wanting to see if Wang Qingyue’s anger from yesterday had faded.

Wang Qingyue, hearing Wang Hong’s words, hesitated briefly before turning her head with a trace of annoyance, glaring at Chen Yang with a couple of sharp looks. Finally, she stood up and went along with Chen Yang to fetch water.

"Give me two water jugs."

Wang Qingyue walked up to Chen Yang, stretched out her hand, and said.

Seeing her still somewhat irritated demeanor, Chen Yang found himself both amused and helpless. But with Wang Hong present, he didn’t say much and simply handed over half of the jugs to her.

Then, the two walked upstream along the water.

After they had put a bit of distance between themselves and the others, Chen Yang spoke up again to explain and apologize.

"Qingyue, no matter how you look at it, yesterday’s incident was my fault. I sincerely apologize to you." Chen Yang said earnestly.

Walking ahead, Wang Qingyue paused for a moment upon hearing Chen Yang’s words.

Catching up, Chen Yang noticed her face was slightly flushed.

Even thinking about what happened yesterday made her feel embarrassed—but that was to be expected after all...

"What happened yesterday! Don’t bring it up again in the future!" Wang Qingyue stood still, her face turning red for a while before clenching her teeth and saying this. Then, she walked ahead on her own again.

Chen Yang had no choice but to let it go. He shook his head and continued following her.

When they reached the pool, they filled all the water jugs, and then the two of them returned silently to the cabin without talking the entire way.

Chen Yang handed the water over to Wang Hong and didn’t concern himself with the cooking.

Instead, he took the medicinal herbs he had gathered earlier in the afternoon, went to the stream, and washed them thoroughly. By the time he finished washing, Wang Hong had almost completed cooking the meal.

So, Chen Yang joined them by the fire and started eating.

While eating, Wang Hong, Wang Qingyue, and the bodyguards began planning for the next day.

They discussed where they should search for the treasure ginseng tomorrow.

Though they didn’t mention the treasure ginseng explicitly during their conversation, Chen Yang knew in his heart that it was indeed what they were searching for.

And the treasure ginseng they referred to happened to be the Mountain Ginseng King that Chen Yang had caught last night; they just called it by a different name.

Listening to Wang Hong and Wang Qingyue talk about resuming the search tomorrow, Chen Yang began to feel a twinge of guilt.

After all, they were friends—if he knew the thing they were looking for was in his possession yet stood by watching Wang Hong and Wang Qingyue search fruitlessly, it would feel too dishonest, wouldn’t it?

After some mental back-and-forth, Chen Yang interjected, "I think, you’ve been looking for so many days without any leads; most likely it’s either been taken by someone else or it doesn’t exist at all. So I think you should stop wasting your time and just head back early."

Chen Yang’s sudden comment interrupted Wang Hong’s speech.

But Wang Hong wasn’t upset; instead, he smiled and replied, "Brother Chen Yang, this thing is very important to us, so we can’t easily give up."

"Really? Just how important is it? Tell me, I’m curious."

Chen Yang casually asked back.

"Hmm..."

Faced with this question, Wang Hong wasn’t originally going to answer, but considering their relationship, he hesitated for a moment before explaining, "Brother Chen Yang, to be honest, the thing we’re looking for has to do with my grandfather’s health."

"You saw his condition last time—even though you healed his dark energy, his body still needs that particular thing to fully recover, so we can’t give up easily."

Wang Hong said with a smile.

"I see."

Chen Yang, knowing the Old Master’s condition all too well, didn’t say any more to try and convince them.

Wang Hong smiled and nodded, then turned back to continue discussing with Wang Qingyue and the bodyguards about where to search the next day.

After the group talked it through, they prepared to return to the cabin to sleep.

Seeing them head inside, Chen Yang stood up as well, intending to go in and rest.

But just as he reached the door, he was stopped by Wang Qingyue, who tugged on his shoulder.

Chen Yang turned back to face her.

Wang Qingyue’s face was slightly red as she said, "You... you’re not going out tonight, right?"

Hearing this, Chen Yang smiled and replied, "Not going out tonight. If you need a spot, just take your pick."

Wang Qingyue’s blush lessened considerably upon hearing this. She gave Chen Yang a sidelong glance before walking past him into the cabin ahead of him.
