Chapter 662 - 662 660 Fully Prepared
662: Chapter 660: Fully Prepared 662: Chapter 660: Fully Prepared Wang Hong, seeing the situation, also let the bodyguards and Wang Qingyue’s group stop to rest.
As soon as He Rui heard “rest,” he immediately did the same as Chen Yang and found a big tree.
He cleaned up the dirty things at the base of the tree and then called Wang Qingyue over to sit.
“Qingyue, come over here, sit here, I’ve cleaned it all up,” He Rui said, waving excitedly.
Wang Qingyue, however, gave him a lukewarm glance, “Sit by yourself.
I’ll sit with my brother and the rest.”
Having said that, she walked towards the place where Wang Hong and the others were resting.
Upon seeing this, He Rui immediately followed her.
“Heh, then I’ll join you.”
Chen Yang watched this scene unfold, his face expressionless, but inwardly he was laughing uproariously.
This He Rui dressed like a character straight out of a magazine, but how could he be so shameless?
Qingyue clearly didn’t want to deal with him, and yet he still stuck to her?
It really was too much.
He complained inwardly, but he had no other intentions.
What they did was their business; after all, he was here to make money.
Thinking this, Chen Yang closed his eyes and rested for a while, about twenty or so minutes, before he stood up and said it was time to move on.
Wang Hong was very agreeable and kind.
He always spoke to Chen Yang politely and respected Chen Yang’s wishes.
After all, Chen Yang was the guide.
Upon hearing Chen Yang say they should leave, Wang Hong immediately stood up and called everyone to follow him.
The others had no objections and all stood up, ready to set off again.
But He Rui seemed to have objections towards Chen Yang, scrutinizing him from top to bottom with a hostile look, his face showing some disdain.
However, he didn’t make a scene and just gave Chen Yang a few glances.
As they ventured deeper into the mountains, the path became more difficult, and they frequently had to stop and rest, wearing everyone out.
Seeing that it was nearly noon, Wang Hong approached Chen Yang, hoping to find a nearby place with a water source to rest and eat something before continuing.
Chen Yang looked up at the sun, surveyed the surroundings, and nodded, “Okay, follow me.
I remember there’s a water source around here.”
After speaking, Chen Yang continued walking forward, and Wang Hong, along with Wang Qingyue and others, followed.
About twenty minutes later, Chen Yang led the group to a grassy hillside where they had barbecued last time.
The scenery here was pleasant, the surroundings open, and it wasn’t too far from the water source, making it an ideal resting spot.
“Let’s rest here.
For cooking, just dig a pit and gather some firewood; there’s a mountain spring over there,” Chen Yang said as he sat down.
By then, Wang Hong and the others were quite tired and, hearing this, they quickly sat down to rest.
After resting for about ten minutes, Wang Hong stood up, instructed two bodyguards to get busy digging the pit and gathering firewood to prepare for cooking.
“Brother, give me the water jug.
I’ll fetch some water and come back,” Wang Qingyue volunteered as she stood up, wanting to help out.
Wang Hong nodded and handed the water jug to Wang Qingyue.
“I’ll go too.”
Seeing that Wang Qingyue was going to fetch water, He Rui, who was dead tired, suddenly found his energy and stood up to follow her.
Wang Qingyue didn’t say anything and just headed in the direction of the water source that Chen Yang had pointed to.
Before long, the two returned with full water jugs.
“Phew, the water source is really far.
Carrying it all the way back tired me out,” He Rui said as he plopped down on the ground, breathing heavily.
Not far away, Chen Yang saw him struggling just to carry water and couldn’t help shaking his head.
Hia physique was clearly weak, otherwise why would he end up looking like this?
Chen Yang gave him a glance and then paid him no further attention.
But at that moment, the panting He Rui started paying attention to Chen Yang.
“Hey, why aren’t you gathering firewood?
What are you still sitting there for?” He Rui asked, puzzled.
“Are you talking to me?” Chen Yang looked at He Rui.
He Rui was already somewhat displeased with Chen Yang, and upon hearing this, he immediately became angry.
“If I’m not talking to you, then who am I talking to?
Go gather some firewood instead of being lazy,” He Rui said loudly, as if he was scolding a servant.
Chen Yang’s face darkened at once.
“Why should I gather firewood when you guys are eating?”
“Hey, who are you talking to like that?
Are you looking for trouble?” He Rui, seeing Chen Yang talk back, became even more furious and got up, intending to teach Chen Yang a lesson.
Their argument grew loud, and Wang Hong, not far away, immediately scolded them.
“He Rui!
What are you doing?”
He Rui was utterly submissive to Wang Qingyue, and naturally, even more so to Wang Hong.
“Brother Wang, this guy is slacking and talking back to me; I need to teach him a lesson,” He Rui said, rolling up his sleeves.
Wang Hong glanced at Chen Yang and then turned back to He Rui.
“Don’t act all high and mighty here; we’re in the mountains, not the city.
Keep yourself in check.”
Wang Hong’s scolding proved to be quite effective.
Upon hearing this, He Rui instantly cooled down and, after glaring at Chen Yang, sat down.
Chen Yang smiled, said nothing, and continued to lie on the grass and rest.
After a while, the aroma of food drifted over.
Soon footsteps approached.
“Mr.
Chen, the food is ready.
Come join us, and we’ve got some beer too,” Wang Hong walked up to Chen Yang and said.
“Sure.”
Accepting the invitation to join the meal, Chen Yang didn’t hesitate and got up to walk with Wang Hong to the campfire.
As soon as Chen Yang arrived, He Rui glared at him with hostility, but considering Wang Hong’s presence, he said nothing.
Noticing He Rui’s glare, Chen Yang simply smiled and remained silent.
Once everyone sat down, they began to eat.
Wang Hong and his group had come well-prepared for the mountain trek.
This was evident from the food.
Rice with several stir-frys and beverages—it hardly seemed like they were in the mountains.
It was almost no different from being at home.
Chen Yang thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
“Mr.
Chen, how far are we from the deepest part of the mountain?
How much longer will it take to get there?” Wang Hong suddenly asked Chen Yang after they had finished eating.
Chen Yang, having eaten and drunk his fill, wanted to lie down again for a while, but Wang Hong was being so sociable, how could he not respond?
So, he sat up and looked at Wang Hong: “The deepest part?
What do you want to do there?”
Chen Yang had never been to the deepest part of the mountain himself.
Wang Hong’s request to go there sparked Chen Yang’s curiosity.
Wang Hong remained silent, however, and did not answer Chen Yang’s question.
Seeing this, Chen Yang quickly caught on.
He had agreed not to inquire into certain matters.
“I’ve never been to the deepest part either, but I’ve looked at it from a distance.
I estimate it will take at least until tomorrow noon to get there,” Chen Yang curbed his curiosity and responded.
“Okay, thank you,” Wang Hong said, bowing his head in thanks.
Chen Yang waved dismissively and then lay down to rest again.
When it was about time, the group set out once more.
