“What did Gao Ya call you for?” Li Han asked Chen Yang right after he had ended the call.

“She said she wants to go to the village tomorrow to inspect the building construction, so she asked us to go together,” Chen Yang replied.

“I see.” Li Han nodded slightly, then asked what time to go tomorrow.

“Nine in the morning.”

Li Han nodded at this and didn’t say much after.

Chen Yang stayed in her office until after four in the afternoon before leaving and returning to Liuhe Village.

Li Han had intended to go with Chen Yang, to avoid rushing the next morning, but considering she wasn’t feeling well, she decided not to go back with him.

Chen Yang arrived back in the village alone and was planning to go to the village office to inform Wu Kexin of Gao Ya’s visit tomorrow.

But just as he hopped out of his car, he saw Wu Kexin walking from the village office towards his house.

Chen Yang thought to himself what a coincidence, and walked up to her.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, they started discussing the important matter at hand.

“Chen Yang, do you know about Gao Ya’s inspection of the building construction tomorrow?” Wu Kexin asked.

“Yeah, I know.

She just called me,” Chen Yang nodded, a bit bewildered, thinking it couldn’t be such a coincidence that she came over just to remind him.

And as it turned out, it was just such a coincidence.

After confirming Chen Yang already knew, Wu Kexin just nodded and gave him a couple of reminders.

She suggested taking advantage of the lingering daylight to check the construction site and then left.

Watching Wu Kexin walk away, Chen Yang marveled for a moment at the improbability of it all before remembering Wu Kexin’s reminder.

“Indeed, I should go over and have a look, to make sure everything is perfect,” Chen Yang said to himself.

Without even entering his house, he turned around and went straight to the construction site of the building.

The day before yesterday, he had already visited the site, and in theory, there shouldn’t be any issues with the quality.

Nevertheless, to make it look as good as possible, Chen Yang still needed to get the site ready.

The workers’ attire, the orderliness of the job site, the construction debris – it all had to be dealt with.

He was getting ready to welcome “the leadership” for their inspection!

Chen Yang got home after five o’clock, and by the time he directed the workers to tidy up the site, it was already around six or seven.

He hurried back home, cooked himself a dinner, and after eating, with nothing else to do, he went to lie down in the backyard for a while.

Looking at the stars sprinkled across the sky, listening to the rustling sound the wind made as it blew through the trees behind the courtyard, Chen Yang felt incredibly content.

Lying there, he drifted off to sleep before he knew it, and by the time he woke up the next day, it was already broad daylight.

The first thing he did after getting up was to check his phone.

Seeing that it was only seven o’clock, he breathed a sigh of relief, “I’ll get ready; Gao Ya and Li Han should be arriving soon.”

With that, he went straight into the inner room, found a set of fairly clean clothes, and took a good shower in the bathroom.

After the shower came breakfast, and then a tidy-up of the house.

Wu Kexin uttered an “Oh” and did not continue the conversation, standing quietly with Chen Yang at the door waiting.

After another two or three minutes, Li Han arrived in his car.

Seeing the luxury car parked in front of her, a smile instantly spread across Wu Kexin’s face.

“You’re a bit slow, aren’t you?

Weren’t you supposed to be here already?

You made me wait for a bit,” Wu Kexin said with a laugh as she walked up to him.

Li Han got out of the car.

“Haha, I miscalculated the time, I thought it would take you a few minutes to get here.” He laughed in response to Wu Kexin’s comment and then turned to Chen Yang, “Has Gao Ya not arrived yet?”

“Not yet, but she’s usually quite punctual, probably going to be here at nine on the dot,” Chen Yang said.

Hearing this, Li Han looked at his watch, “Then we have just over ten minutes to go, why don’t we take a round at the site first, look around and wait at the same time?”

“Sure, let’s go.”

Chen Yang nodded directly, Wu Kexin also gave an “Mhm,” and then the three of them went straight to the construction site together.

Entering the construction site, the workers were gathering, getting ready to start their day.

The site’s manager, Manager Huang, had no idea that there were going to be inspections that day.

Manager Huang paused for a moment upon hearing this, then as if something dawned on him, he quickly smiled and said, “I see, well, President Li, you can rest assured, our project is perfect, there will be no shame on our company!”

Hearing this, Li Han didn’t respond, just nodded faintly.

The quality of the work needed to be seen, not just heard about.

Li Han didn’t answer Manager Huang, but just kept walking further in.

Manager Huang wasn’t awkward; knowing that Li Han didn’t like to exchange pleasantries, he didn’t continue with the small talk and instead started to address the quality issues that concerned Li Han.

Everywhere Li Han went, he wanted to personally test the quality of the construction with the relevant tools.

When coming to areas where workers were still at work, he would explain their work process specifications and highlight some of the areas they had done particularly well.

All in all, Li Han was very satisfied with the project.
