Peach Blossom Divine Medical God -
Chapter 325 - 325 325
325: 325 325: 325 The scenes unfolding before his eyes nearly made Wang Lao Si’s jaw drop.
“Damn, what the hell is this situation?
My business can be this good without my crayfish?”
Wang Lao Si’s face was filled with astonishment as he rubbed his eyes several times, struggling to believe the sight before him.
At that moment, the old man behind him smiled faintly, “Crime does not pay, you relied on the good taste of the crayfish and jacked up the prices, but those days are long gone.”
“Just leave, from now on you’re not welcome here anymore, and forget about Xiao Cui, it’s never going to happen, so better get that out of your head.”
The old man spoke with firm resolution.
Hearing these words, Wang Lao Si was so angry he felt like his lungs were about to burst.
But there was nothing he could do about the old man.
“Fine, consider yourself tough, old man!
But don’t get cocky, these diners just haven’t noticed the taste yet, it won’t be long before your shop closes down for good!”
Wang Lao Si huffed heavily and turned to leave.
He still believed that the old man’s shop was only doing well because of the reputation he had built with the crayfish he used to supply.
And without his crayfish, that reputation couldn’t last much longer.
After leaving angrily, Wang Lao Si drove away in his van without lingering longer.
On the other side, Chen Yang had already driven the van back home by this time.
Delivering the crayfish was quite strenuous.
Driving up and down the mountains.
And most importantly, hauling over two hundred pounds of goods.
It was only possible because of Chen Yang’s strength, otherwise, who could manage a round trip up and down the mountain in one hour?
After Chen Yang got home, he immediately took a comfortable bath and then lay on the bed, calculating the expenses and profits of the past few days.
In the past, without any goals, Chen Yang never bothered to calculate whether he earned more or less.
But now that he had a goal, Chen Yang would tally up the day’s earnings before going to bed every night.
He would also estimate how much money he could make after a month at this rate.
Today, he had delivered one hundred fifty pounds of crayfish to the old man, plus wild mushrooms and wild rabbits, earning over fifty thousand.
That was nearly enough to earn back the cost of the van in a single day.
“This won’t do, earning fifty thousand in a day is too little, it’s just one million in twenty days,”
Chen Yang felt a slight sense of loss as he calculated the result.
Working busily for two or three days without seeing a significant increase in income was a very uncomfortable feeling.
At the same time, Chen Yang was frantically pondering, seeking another way to make money.
“Could it be that I really need to go back to my old trade, practicing medicine?”
Chen Yang lay in bed, silently thinking to himself.
Practicing medicine was not a bad option, after all.
With the assistance of the Medicine King’s Scripture, he could treat all kinds of complicated illnesses.
If he happened to treat a wealthy patient at death’s door, it wasn’t impossible to charge a treatment fee of millions in one go.
Moreover, he didn’t really have much to do on a daily basis now.
With the greenhouse expanded and the crayfish farm set up, there was nothing left to do but catch crayfish at night.
“Anyway, I’ve got nothing better to do, so I might as well take the medicine chest to the county tomorrow, maybe I’ll hit some dumb luck.”
Having made up his mind, Chen Yang decided to try his luck in the county after he was done for the day.
…
The following day.
Chen Yang got up, washed up, had breakfast, and in a hurry slung the medicine chest over his shoulder and headed for the town.
He left almost all of the household affairs to Wu Kexin to manage.
Asking Wu Kexin to help look after the construction team and the wild mushrooms wasn’t a particularly difficult task.
When Wu Kexin learned that Chen Yang was really planning to practice medicine in town, she was almost left speechless.
However, she didn’t discourage Chen Yang; instead, she told him to go ahead without worry and that she would keep an eye on the construction team at home.
So Chen Yang finally went to the county town with peace of mind.
Driving his van, Chen Yang arrived in the county town just after nine in the morning, when the streets were bustling with activity.
Office workers and street vendors were everywhere.
Chen Yang found a crowded place, parked his van, and then slung his medicinal kit over his shoulder to wander around.
With his medicinal kit in tow, Chen Yang really didn’t look the part, appearing more like an itinerant doctor.
But to prove his identity as a doctor, he had no choice.
Otherwise, should he just write the word “doctor” on his clothing?
After getting out of the vehicle, Chen Yang loitered around the vicinity of the county central hospital for a while but failed to spot any potential patients.
This made Chen Yang quite frustrated.
At the same time, he felt that he might have acted rashly.
Making the decision to grab his medicinal kit and go, he hadn’t considered where he would actually find patients.
“Rich folks who fall ill would definitely not just walk in here.
They’d surely call an ambulance.
Me hanging around the entrance of the hospital isn’t doing any good,” he muttered to himself in dissatisfaction, then decisively moved away from the main entrance of the county central hospital.
However, he didn’t head straight home but instead drove the van to the Lintianxia Hotel.
Ever since the incident with Yang Tiancheng, Li Han hadn’t made any contact with him.
He had no idea what she’d been busy with lately.
After parking his vehicle at the Lintianxia Hotel, Chen Yang took out his phone intending to contact Li Han to see if he could visit for a sit-down.
Once the call connected, Li Han said she was in her office and that Chen Yang could come straight up.
“Okay, wait a minute for me.
I’ll come up now,” Chen Yang responded, hung up the call, then parked the car in the underground garage of Lintianxia Hotel.
He then took the elevator straight to the top floor where Li Han’s office was.
Knock, knock.
Chen Yang knocked on the door.
“Come in,” came Li Han’s indifferent voice from inside the office.
Chen Yang pushed the door open and entered.
Li Han looked up, saw that it was Chen Yang, and her face immediately brightened with a smile.
“It’s you, Chen Yang?
That was quick, wasn’t it?” Li Han stood up from her seat.
“Heh, when I called you, I was already downstairs,” Chen Yang answered with a chuckle.
“Oh, that explains it, come, have a seat here,” said Li Han with a smile, then led Chen Yang to the office sofa and poured him a glass of water.
Chen Yang picked up the glass and took a sip.
“Chen Yang, why are you carrying a medicinal kit?
Did you come to the county town to treat people?” Li Han noticed the medicinal kit that Chen Yang was carrying.
Chen Yang looked down at his own kit and explained with a laugh, “I thought I’d go back to my old job for a bit, treat a few patients, earn some money, but I’ve been wandering all morning and haven’t encountered a single patient.”
“Treating patients to earn money?
Are you really short on cash?” Li Han’s brow furrowed deeply after hearing Chen Yang’s explanation.
“Of course I’m short on cash.
We’re talking about ten million here.
It’s quite the challenge for me,” Chen Yang said in an exasperated tone.
Yet Li Han looked utterly astonished and even asked, “What ten million?
You need ten million?”
At this point, Chen Yang realized something was off, as it seemed Li Han was unaware of his agreement with Yang Tiancheng.
“You don’t know?
Last time, Ruoxi’s dad took her home, and he made a deal with me.
If I can have a net worth of ten million within a month, he will allow Ruoxi to interact with me, otherwise, he’ll cut off all contact between us,” Chen Yang briefly explained the situation regarding the ten million.
