290: Chapter 290: Want to Do Everything 290: Chapter 290: Want to Do Everything The farmer’s market was bustling with activity in the morning.

The coming and going of the crowd made it incredibly congested.

Chen Yang didn’t want to waste time, so he squeezed in to take a look.

But after circling the entire farmer’s seafood market, he hadn’t seen any small lobsters.

The ones available were large enough to be eaten directly.

“Boss, do you have those lobster fry for sale?”

Chen Yang couldn’t help but ask at a stall.

The stall owner was busy working.

Upon hearing this, he turned his head in confusion.

“Lobster fry, what do you want those for?”

The owner asked, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, perplexed.

Chen Yang chuckled, “Nothing much, just thinking about putting some in my own field.”

Chen Yang made up a casual excuse.

In the countryside, many people put lobsters in their own paddy fields, so upon hearing Chen Yang’s reason, the stall owner’s puzzled expression faded.

“I see,”

the owner nodded as if suddenly understanding, and then waved his hand, “I don’t have those, I only sell fully-grown lobsters.

If you want to stock your field, my large lobsters might be better, they’re stronger at adapting to the environment.”

As the owner declared he didn’t have them, he took the opportunity to promote his own lobsters.

However, Chen Yang had no interest whatsoever in these lobsters,

which had already grown and developed firm flesh, leading to them being less effective if put into the cave.

If he was to raise them, they definitely had to be lobster fry.

“If you don’t have any, never mind then, boss.”

Chen Yang stood up, declined the owner’s offer, and walked away to ask at other stalls that sold lobsters.

But there were no lobster fry for sale at the other stalls either.

After making two big rounds around the farmer’s market, it was nearing noon.

Just as Chen Yang was thinking about checking other places, Yang Ruoxi called to ask if he was coming back for lunch.

Looking at the empty truck bed, he said he wouldn’t be returning for the meal.

“Alright, then come back early,”

Yang Ruoxi said before hanging up the phone.

After the call ended, Chen Yang, feeling frustrated at the large market’s absence of lobster fry, patted his flat stomach.

“Better find somewhere to eat first, then after lunch, I’ll look elsewhere.”

Having made up his mind, Chen Yang rode off from the farmer’s market on his tricycle.

He drove straight towards Yang Caiyun’s riverside fish restaurant.

Alone in the county at midday, Chen Yang wasn’t sure where else to dine, so he decided to go to Yang Caiyun’s restaurant,

and to see Yang Caiyun while he was at it.

With that thought in mind, Chen Yang rode his electric tricycle and soon arrived at the entrance of the fish restaurant.

Noon was when restaurants were at their busiest.

Yang Caiyun’s fish restaurant was already doing well, and at midday, it was even busier with a constant flow of people.

Seeing the parking lot filled with cars, Chen Yang could imagine the bustling scene inside the restaurant.

“Didn’t expect the business to get even better after some time away,”

Chen Yang murmured with a light smile and found a spot on the roadside to park his tricycle.

After parking, he made his way into the fish restaurant.

The scene inside was just as Chen Yang had imagined: extremely lively.

The entire restaurant was crowded with people; there were even many who couldn’t find a seat waiting outside.

“This business…

it’s insanely good.”

Seeing the scene before him, Chen Yang clicked his tongue in amazement.

After scanning the surroundings a few times and noticing that all the waiters were too busy to be approached, Chen Yang didn’t try to stop one to ask for Yang Caiyun’s whereabouts.

Instead, he went on his own to search for her in the back courtyard of the restaurant.

At the busiest of times, it was only natural that Yang Caiyun, the restaurant owner, might be swamped with work.

He was either settling accounts at the front desk or hurrying dishes in the kitchen.

Chen Yang passed by the front desk when he entered and didn’t see Yang Caiyun, so he went directly to the kitchen.

As expected.

Upon reaching the kitchen, Chen Yang saw from a distance Yang Caiyun in the kitchen, urging the chef to cook faster, occasionally lending a hand.

“Sis.”

Chen Yang called out.

Yang Caiyun, hearing the voice, immediately turned around.

When she saw Chen Yang, her face lit up with surprised joy.

“Chen Yang!

How come you’re here.”

Yang Caiyun walked up to Chen Yang with a smile and asked.

Chen Yang smiled, “I was in town for some errands, didn’t go back at noon, so I thought I’d come here for a meal.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Caiyun quickly pulled Chen Yang out of the kitchen with a laugh.

“What do you mean ‘scrounging a meal’?

I’m inviting you to eat!”

Exiting the kitchen, Yang Caiyun pulled Chen Yang straight into a small room in the backyard.

Then she immediately summoned a server.

“Go to the kitchen and tell them to add two more hearty dishes and bring them to my room, I’m entertaining a guest.”

The server glanced at Chen Yang by Yang Caiyun’s side and then nodded, “Okay.”

After the server left, Yang Caiyun pulled Chen Yang to sit by the table in the small room.

“I thought you had come especially to see me, but it turns out you were just in town for errands and dropped by to check on me.”

Yang Caiyun picked up the teapot from the table and poured water for Chen Yang while sounding somewhat dissatisfied and plaintive.

Chen Yang looked at her and couldn’t help laughing, “It’s been busy at home recently, the heavy rain a while ago caused a disaster in the village, and there’s been no time for outings.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Caiyun’s expression became serious.

“The village suffered a disaster?

How bad is it?

Did anything at your place get damaged?

Are the farm and the greenhouses all right?”

Yang Caiyun asked with concern.

Chen Yang waved his hand with a smile, “My place didn’t suffer any damage, it’s just some losses in the village, these days we’ve all been busy helping out.”

“Oh, that’s good then.”

Yang Caiyun poured Chen Yang a cup of tea and then sat down beside him.

While Chen Yang was drinking water from his teacup, Yang Caiyun curiously asked, “So what brought you to town today?

What are you doing in town?”

Chen Yang put down his teacup.

“I came to town to buy some shrimp fries, but after searching the whole agricultural market, I couldn’t find any for sale.

Seeing it was too late to go back and cook lunch, I just headed over here.”

Chen Yang explained truthfully.

“Shrimp fries?”

Yang Caiyun looked puzzled, “What do you need shrimp fries for?

Don’t tell me you’re thinking of starting a crayfish farm?”

Chen Yang nodded naturally, “Recently, I’ve been entertaining that idea, thinking of trying out crayfish farming.”

Seeing Chen Yang nod, Yang Caiyun’s face showed utter astonishment; she hadn’t expected Chen Yang to actually mean it.

“Chen Yang, are you a doctor or a professional breeder?

How come you want to dabble in everything?”

Yang Caiyun’s face showed disbelief, finding Chen Yang truly strange.

Not only did his family have a clinic and greenhouses but also a farm.

And now he was thinking of starting a crayfish farm.

How much energy did he have to be considering so many different ventures?

Chen Yang was already used to such expressions from Yang Caiyun, so he replied naturally.

“I am a doctor, and I am a professional breeder too!

To earn money, of course, I have to get involved in a bit of everything!

Plus, it’s peak season for crayfish right now; there’s definitely potential.”

Chen Yang said with confidence.

Yang Caiyun was slightly shocked by Chen Yang’s confidence.

At the same time, she also felt highly confident in Chen Yang.

This seemed to be an innate skill of Chen Yang’s, whenever he showed determination, it always made those around him believe.

“Mmhmm!

The peak season for crayfish is indeed coming, but isn’t it a bit late to start now?

You know crayfish need a lot of time to grow, and you definitely won’t make it for this year’s peak season.”

Yang Caiyun analyzed calmly.
