Chapter 1055: Chapter 1051: Looking for Books

Seeing that it was almost noon, he left the workshop with Wu Kexin.

"Are we just leaving like this? They don’t have anywhere to eat!" As they reached outside the factory building, Wu Kexin suddenly remembered the issue of lunch.

Chen Yang looked around, seeing no one, then directly wrapped an arm around her waist and said with a smile, "Don’t worry, I’ve already talked to the aunts in the mine’s kitchen. They’ll help with the factory’s meals and deliver them directly here in the future."

Wu Kexin responded with an "Oh" and didn’t say much, simply following Chen Yang back to the clinic.

Back at the clinic, Chen Yang arranged for Wu Kexin to sit in the backyard while he went to the kitchen to make several dishes and medicinal meals.

"Kexin, it’s time to eat."

Once the dishes were served on the table, Chen Yang immediately called Wu Kexin to come and eat.

Upon hearing this, Wu Kexin walked from the backyard into the house.

Seeing the table full of dishes, Wu Kexin was quite surprised: "Why so many dishes? Are others coming to join us?"

Chen Yang smiled, walked up behind her, gently pressed her shoulders, indicating for her to sit down.

Then he said with a smile, "It’s just us two, no one else."

Wu Kexin moved her mouth a little, wanting to say something.

But Chen Yang interrupted her, explaining first: "You’ve worked hard these days, helping me recruit so many people. This meal is to reward your hard work!"

Hearing this, warmth and sweetness immediately enveloped Wu Kexin’s heart!

She truly was tired these days, having to help Chen Yang interview hundreds of people a day, organize and compile them, aside from other things she had to do.

But at this moment, she felt all the fatigue was worth it.

"You guy, I thought you didn’t know how to care for others." Wu Kexin said touched.

Chen Yang promptly sat down beside Wu Kexin and held her hand in his palm!

"How could you say that? Of course, I care about you."

After saying that, Chen Yang picked up chopsticks, took a piece of meat, and fed it to her.

Wu Kexin was very moved, staring at Chen Yang with eyes full of affection, then smiled and opened her mouth to eat it.

"How does it taste? I’m not too bad at cooking, right?" Chen Yang asked with a smile.

Wu Kexin nodded: "Hmm, it’s very delicious, your cooking skills are getting better and better."

"If it’s good, eat more. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a nice meal together." Chen Yang placed the bowls and chopsticks in front of Wu Kexin.

Wu Kexin nodded again, then picked up her bowl and chopsticks, and started eating with Chen Yang.

The meal was very joyful for both of them, filled with love and affection.

Although they had been seeing each other often during this time, there weren’t many tender moments. This meal perfectly elevated their relationship to a new level.

After the meal, Chen Yang initially wanted Wu Kexin to rest for the whole afternoon.

But Wu Kexin refused.

"No need to rest, there are still many things left to do."

"Things can take their time, seeing you worry so much about my matters every day, it really aches my heart." Chen Yang said sincerely.

Wu Kexin’s heart felt warm once again.

"Actually, it’s nothing. It may be a bit troublesome, but it’s not too pressing. Don’t worry, I know how to pace myself." Wu Kexin insisted.

Seeing this, Chen Yang could only nod and agree.

"Alright then, just take care of yourself. It’s okay if my matters take a back seat, don’t tire yourself out."

"Yes, I will take care." Wu Kexin nodded with a smile, then after a few more words with Chen Yang, she left his clinic to get busy at the village office.

Chen Yang watched Wu Kexin’s departing figure with warmth in his heart.

Having such a diligent helper was indeed a great aid.

Chen Yang stood at the doorway, sighed, and then closed the clinic’s door, driving out.

He headed straight to the largest library in town.

He wanted to find a couple of books about ancient Chinese characters for further study, having been thinking about ancient books since yesterday.

He parked his car downstairs and then walked up to the second floor of the library.

It was noon, the time when the library was least crowded.

Apart from a few staff members, there were only a handful of people reading books.

Chen Yang scanned the library hall, then looked up at the book classifications.

This library is the largest in the county.

If you don’t check the classifications, who knows how long it would take to find the books.

Chen Yang glanced around and thought that books on traditional Chinese characters should be under the Humanities section.

So he started looking in the Humanities section.

After searching for over twenty minutes, having checked the entire section twice, he found none on ancient books.

"Such a large library, yet not a single book about traditional characters?"

Chen Yang was quite surprised, feeling it was really unexpected.

Just as he was feeling surprised, a staff member from the library saw him.

Seeing that Chen Yang had spent a long time without picking up a book, she walked over enthusiastically and asked, "Young man, what book are you looking for?"

"Auntie, I’m looking for a couple of books to learn traditional Chinese characters. Do you have any here?"

Chen Yang politely inquired of the lady.

The lady seemed very kind, but upon hearing Chen Yang mention traditional characters, she frowned immediately: "Books on traditional characters? We likely don’t have any, but there’s a book market not far from here, with all kinds of books, you might try there."

Chen Yang’s eyes lit up at her words, even though he hadn’t found anything after a long search, at least it wasn’t in vain.

"Alright, thank you, Auntie."

Chen Yang thanked her and left the library for the nearby book market.

This book market had many shops mostly selling novels, and some classics.

Few sold niche books, and none dealt in traditional character books.

Chen Yang searched from one end of the market to the other without finding a single one.

As Chen Yang was feeling helpless, a man with a mustache, looking a bit shifty, suddenly approached him.

"Brother, looking for a book?" the man smiled and asked.

Chen Yang glanced at him doubtfully, feeling this didn’t seem like a good person.

But still, he nodded and replied, "Yes, I’m looking for books, but haven’t found any along this street."

Hearing Chen Yang’s response, the man’s smile widened.

"Hey, you’ve met the right person then. I have all kinds of books, what are you looking for?" he asked excitedly.

Upon hearing this, Chen Yang couldn’t help but scrutinize him from top to bottom.

Whether it was an inner intuition or just the man’s appearance, Chen Yang felt this guy didn’t seem trustworthy, but since it was only about buying a book, he didn’t overthink it.

"I want books to learn traditional Chinese characters, do you have them?" Chen Yang asked tentatively.

The man, upon hearing about traditional character books, frowned just like the librarian lady earlier.

He seemed to be pondering.

After about ten seconds of silence, just as Chen Yang was about to give up, he suddenly said: "Books for learning traditional characters are almost nonexistent in the market, but I think I have a couple of old ones at home, would you like to go with me to check?"

"Sure, let’s go then."

Chen Yang, hearing there might be books, agreed without much thought and nodded immediately.

"Alright, follow me."

The man smiled slightly, turned, and led Chen Yang into one of the alleys of the book market.
