Chapter 1027: Chapter 1023 Capital Fund
Once they arrived at the medical clinic, Chen Yang immediately fetched the medication, disinfectants, and gauze from home.
This type of wound isn’t hard to treat, the difficult part is the disinfecting.
Not to mention Wang Hu was hit by an ore.
The things inside the mine are unsanitary, failing to properly treat it can lead to major issues.
Chen Yang patiently treated Wang Hu’s wound, then bandaged it, and gave him a few pills to aid recovery.
"Alright, that’s done. He should wake up by tonight, but won’t be able to work for a while. You guys help take him back." After finishing, Chen Yang spoke to the men who’d come along.
Most of the men were from the same village as Wang Hu, so they stepped up without hesitation.
"Alright, thank you Yang Zi, how much do the treatment costs? I can pay for him first." One of them, brawny, pulled out his wallet to pay on behalf of Wang Hu.
Such money Chen Yang naturally wouldn’t accept.
"Don’t worry about it, it’s hard enough for everyone to earn some money, no need for payment, as long as he’s alright." Chen Yang said with a smile, waving his hand.
The man saw Chen Yang wouldn’t take the money and didn’t insist.
For he knew Chen Yang didn’t lack money and truly didn’t want it.
"Alright then, I thank you again on behalf of Wang Hu, Yang Zi!" The man thanked him again.
Chen Yang waved his hand with a smile, without speaking.
Soon, several men were prepared to carry Wang Hu back from Chen Yang’s clinic.
But they hadn’t set off yet when the person in charge from the Gu Family mine suddenly arrived.
Seeing the person in charge arrived, everyone including Chen Yang thought he was there to check on Lin Hu’s injury.
No matter the reason, Lin Hu had the accident at the mine, the mine needed to take some responsibility.
But unexpectedly, the person’s face turned sour and he began to blame everyone.
"You folks, skipping work already? Does the mine pay you daily to slack off?" The middle-aged person shouted loudly, standing outside.
Though angered, nobody refuted as he was still a leader.
The man who tried paying for Lin Hu stepped forward to explain: "Manager Liu, we’re not slacking, Lin Hu got hurt, and we’re here to bring him for a check-up."
The explanation didn’t soften Manager Liu’s attitude at all!
"Slacking is slacking, what excuses do you have? Do you need so many to carry one person? Couldn’t you just grab a cart and wheel him here?"
"You truly have a poor man’s fate! Our Gu Family offers you such job opportunities, yet you don’t cherish them! Get back to work or your wages will be deducted!"
The middle-aged man showed no empathy, instead insulting everyone present.
And it didn’t end there, after scolding the crowd, he slowly entered the clinic, looked at Lin Hu who was still unconscious.
Seeing his wound treated and breathing evenly, he remarked: "Lin Hu’s injury isn’t serious, how come you villagers can’t handle a little wound? What’s the fuss?"
"When this Lin Hu wakes up, inform him he needn’t come to work anymore, our mine doesn’t need someone like him!"
Manager Liu’s scathing words ignited the anger of the gathered men.
Lin Hu was hurt at work, yet instead of comfort and compensation, he faced dismissal! How could this not anger people?
"Liu bighead, are your words human? They’re only fit for beasts!" One man roared in fury!
"Exactly, is this how a person talks? Is this how one behaves?"
"It’s completely outrageous, how about being human, Lin Hu didn’t do it intentionally."
...
The group of men were furious, and pounced on Manager Liu with angered accusations.
But Manager Liu remained unfazed, sneering coldly: "I’m not speaking human words? I’m stating facts! Does the mine run without capital? Can this sickly Lin Hu work?"
"I’m done talking, back to the mine in five minutes, or you all face dismissal!"
Manager Liu looked smug and indifferent.
Capital’s face was revolting to the extreme.
"Liu bighead, damn it..."
A group of men couldn’t stand it, ready to explode on the spot.
But then, Chen Yang stepped in, stopping them from acting on impulse.
"Your Gu Family really plays the capital game well, firing people at a whim, with full authority!" Chen Yang said sarcastically after blocking the crowd.
Manager Liu shot Chen Yang a glance, still smug.
"Haha, indeed, without authority how can you manage these hillbillies? Anyway, our mine’s benefits, where can’t we hire people? If they don’t want to work, let them go! Back to farming!" Manager Liu taunted coldly.
As if sure everyone wanted a job and wouldn’t dare leave.
"Fine, if you say so, don’t regret it later." Chen Yang sneered.
Upon hearing that, Manager Liu’s face began showing some change.
"Hm? What’s that supposed to mean? Are you implying you’ll lead them to quit?" Manager Liu squinted at Chen Yang.
"That’s pretty much it."
Chen Yang retorted with a cold smile, turning to the indignant men by his side: "Please go to the mine and tell everyone the situation here, and suggest they all resign from the mine."
"In a few days I’ll arrange new jobs for everyone."
The men were angry and didn’t want to work, but were reluctant to give up the job.
After all, finding work nearby with a monthly salary of six to seven thousand was rare.
But Chen Yang’s latter words instantly eased their burden.
"Alright, let’s go, are we going to let this outsider bully us?"
Four or five stout men shouted in unison and stormed off.
Seeing this, Manager Liu was briefly stunned, he intended to show power but didn’t expect they’d really quit.
"Hmph, let those brutes go, the mine’s hundreds don’t need these few, I refuse to believe they can sway everyone with their words." Manager Liu thought, regaining his smugness.
As a manager, losing a few isn’t a big deal.
This time, Chen Yang didn’t respond, instead he looked at him like a fool without further attention.
He would soon experience what cohesion truly meant.
Chen Yang ignored him, while he lingered, arrogantly standing at Chen Yang’s door.
"I want to see how many fools those brutes can convince to join them, just right, the mine needs fresh blood, more leaving would be good." Manager Liu continued to taunt from the door.
Chen Yang, as usual, said nothing and smiled.
After about ten minutes, a loud noise erupted from the direction of the backmine.
The sound resembled the usual noises heard when people get off work.
