Chapter 168: Chapter 92: Your Title!_3
Li Guanyi said, "Remembered."
The elder nodded, flicked his wrist, and closed the scroll, just as the candle was about to burn out. The old man smiled and said, "Then, come again tomorrow, and I will teach you the first variation."
"This Formation Map should be delivered by Guan Yi to the Vermilion Bird Gate of the Imperial Palace."
Li Guanyi’s eyes received the scroll.
"Yes."
Perhaps he could, get closer to the Qilin.
A monk had already breached the doorway. Li Guanyi stood up and in the instant the other party opened the door, he lifted his right foot and kicked straight into the chest, releasing all the pent-up frustration of staring at math problems for ten hours with exhilarating abandon.
Outside stood a monk as tall as nine feet, with a waist as wide as a water barrel, who was kicked three feet into the air by the young man and tumbled away in a cacophony of groans. Li Guanyi drew back his leg, exhaled deeply, folded the scroll, slung it behind his back, and the commotion outside commenced.
Looking out from the room, a bunch of large and fat monks were rushing forward within the Taoist temple. The Taoists were lean, not martial practitioners, no match for them—even the Pharmacists who made medicine for the common folk were toppled, the furnaces fell to the ground, and the scent of the herbs was thick in the air.
A monk shouted, "Another little Taoist!"
"Knock him down!"
Li Guanyi exhaled, grasped the bamboo used for drying clothes beside him, and with a flick of the wrist, shot the bamboo forth like a spear. With a flick of his wrist, the bamboo vibrated, and several monks were sent flying.
The monks began to make a ruckus and charged at Li Guanyi. The other devotees, due to the court’s regulations, could not intervene. Li Zhaowen wanted to leave, but seeing Li Guanyi emerge, grabbed her staff and moved forward with a slight frown. She feared that one youth against dozens of hefty monks would lead to a disadvantage without resorting to lethal force.
She restrained her weapon, but then she was astonished.
The young man boldly stepped forth, wielding his bamboo staff. Sweeping and stabbing, he bested dozens of monks. Ten or so of them charged and clung to his bamboo staff. Li Zhaowen had already stepped forward to help, but the youth suddenly let out a fierce shout.
On one side, a handsome 14-year-old youth, on the other, several big-eared, round-headed monks chosen for their size—a stark contrast. Yet, incredibly, the youth lifted the whole group of monks with just the bamboo!
Changsun Wu Gou was stunned.
What a physique!
What strength, and seeing this scene, the second young lady...
She turned around and indeed saw the young girl with her hand on her sword, her eyes bright with excitement as she watched the scene unfold. Changsun Wu Gou sighed, resigned.
Indeed.
After Li Guanyi lifted the group of monks, he suddenly let out a roar, gripping the bamboo with both hands, like a Fierce General shaking a twelve-foot spear. With a single shake and twist, the force spread, and the monks were all shaken off, unable to hold on to the bamboo.
They fell to the ground, groaning incessantly.
And Li Guanyi, after just a few breaths, his muscles quickly recovered from their peak exertion.
The physique of Dragon Veins and Tiger Marrow!
Li Guanyi flung the remaining monks to the ground with his bamboo, and with swollen face and nose, one of them shouted like a ruffian, "We’ve met our match today, hey, you Taoist, dare you leave your name behind?!"
Li Guanyi was heading to the Vermilion Bird Gate and couldn’t be bothered to respond.
Leaving a name isn’t the way of the ranger.
He simply raised the bamboo in his hand towards that monk, turning the latter’s complexion to pale with fright, then with a twist of his wrist, the bamboo spun like a dragon, he pointed towards the Taoist Temple behind him before retracting his weapon and stepping out with long strides. The monks, puzzled, could only say, "Taoist Temple, you’re not called Taoist Temple are you?!"
"No, brother, could it be that he’s telling us to ask a Taoist priest?"
"Could it be some Taoist?"
Changsun Wu Gou blinked, her voice gentle, "Taoist Temple, is it called Li Dao?"
"Or is it Li Guan?"
Her gentle heart murmured to herself, a Taoist Temple.
Li.
Li Yiguan, or perhaps...
Li Guanyi?
Changsun Wu Gou seemed to understand, while Li Zhaowen, holding her sword, laughed, "Li Guan, Li Dao?"
"What kind of name is that?"
She thought for a moment, and with a smile said, "Perhaps it’s just so?"
Watching the young man ahead, clad in brocade and holding a bamboo, moving with confident, unhurried steps—although just a youth, in brocade, with bamboo, surrounded by the fallen, he seemed in the haze to stride armored with a lance, his aura imposing.
Li Zhaowen said, "Inside is a Pharmacist, so his name is—"
The Dragon and Phoenix adorned young lady, watching the youth clasping the bamboo like a lance, stepping and walking slowly, said:
"Named Pharmacist Li."
