Chapter 86: Chapter 86 Demon Heart Seal Attack

Long Yunyun walked into the prison that held many women, and many of the women had already started weeping and crying out loud.

Among these women in various colored clothes, Mu Can noticed a black-clad woman who seemed very special; unlike the others who constantly cried out, this woman looked at him with a complex expression after he appeared, neither wailing loudly nor sobbing quietly.

"Could you come out for a moment?" Mu Can called out to the woman in black, softly.

Hearing Mu Can’s call, the woman gently lifted her head to glance at him and slowly walked from beside Long Yunyun to Mu Can’s side.

The black-clad woman appeared to be no more than in her twenties, with jet-black hair like ink spread over her shoulders, her thin lips pursed slightly, standing before him, almost the same height as Mu Can.

"May I know what instructions you have, sir?" the woman asked softly, her voice like an orchid in a secluded valley.

It was simply Mu Can’s intuition that this woman was somewhat different from the others, prompting him to call her out.

"What’s your name?" Mu Can looked at the woman and asked; her beauty ranked only below Qingyi among all the women he had seen, her noble bearing comparable to Long Yunyun’s, and although slightly less heroic than Long Yunyun, she had a touch more charm.

"The honorable sir may call me Lanlan," said the woman with a curtsey, speaking openly.

At this moment, Long Yunyun had already calmed the women in the cage, most of whom were no longer crying loudly, though low sobs could still be heard.

"May I ask, sir, did Old Han and his gang die by your hand?" Lanlan cast a glance at her companions in the cage, whose expressions varied, and asked in a deep voice.

Mu Can nodded, "Old Han and his gang have been put to death, and you are now free."

"Free?" Lanlan repeated the word softly, then gave Mu Can a complicated look.

"We have long since lost our freedom; during our time here, we couldn’t even control our own lives. Where can we go? Return home? We would rather our families not know we are still alive." Tears streamed slowly down Lanlan’s cheeks.

Hearing Lanlan’s words, Mu Can felt a pang in his heart; he had only thought about rescuing these people but never considered the hellish pain and torment they had endured here, nor the tremendous emotional trauma it had caused them.

"You are free now." Long Yunyun led all the women out of the cell, and Mu Can led Lanlan out onto the open ground.

The women followed Long Yunyun out, walking like zombies, shielding their eyes from the glaring sunlight.

"Where are your families? If you want to return home, you can come to me later for some Spirit Stones," Mu Can said, looking at the group of unfortunate women with a complex expression.

"Home, where do I have a home? Old Han killed my husband and brought me here," one woman wailed loudly at the mention of home.

During the days captured in the village, even the thought of death was a luxury, confined either in a cell or to the beds of those bandits.

If given a choice, the woman would have preferred to die long ago.

Thinking of death, the woman who just spoke seemed to ignite a fire in her eyes, ran toward the cliff beside the village, and leaped off.

Long Yunyun leaped after her, but grasped at air, standing stupefied as the woman plunged into the bottomless cliff.

Seeing the relief on the woman’s face as she fell, Long Yunyun clenched her fists tightly.

"Sir, thank you for saving us and allowing us to find release," seeing the resolute woman leap to her death, the remaining women seemed infected with the same sentiment and began to thank Mu Can.

Mu Can could feel that a large part of these people had already nurtured the intent to die.

"Isn’t it good to just live well?" Mu Can muttered, looking down.

"Purple Cloud, is there any way to help them?" Mu Can asked in the direction of the Reincarnation Pearl, where Purple Cloud resided.

Purple Cloud thought for a moment, "Perhaps giving them a goal might work. I have a Cultivation Technique here, specifically for women. It might be able to help you."

Mu Can’s eyes lit up and then she abruptly lifted her head and said to Lanlan and the others, "Maybe I can help you."

"Hmm?" Seeing the spark in Mu Can’s eyes, which reminded her of fireflies in the deep night, Lanlan also fixed her gaze on Mu Can’s eyes and asked.

"I can make you Cultivators, and you can help many more victims like yourselves. But, are you willing?" Mu Can looked at Lanlan with a hopeful expression.

She could see that Lanlan held some status among these people, and her choice would influence the majority of them.

Mu Can did not know that her actions today would leave behind a power that would make all faithless men in the world tremble with fear in the future.

And Lanlan’s group would later be known as the Black Widows of the Mortal World.

"Help more people in need." Lanlan muttered to herself, pondering if she had the power of a Cultivator, whether she would have had the chance to resist when faced with Boss Han and his gang, and not end up in her current plight.

"I am willing." Lanlan seemed to see hope, her eyes slowly lighting up.

"Sisters, we were hurt but we met someone who saved us; what about the many others who have been hurt like us? Who will save them?" Lanlan suddenly turned to face the contemplative women and spoke.

Hearing Lanlan speak, Mu Can finally felt slightly relieved. If all the people she had saved today chose to end their own lives, then what was the point of her visit?

Remembering the expression on the face of the woman who jumped off the cliff to her death, Mu Can felt a surge of anger rise from her heart, like a towering tornado, swirling upwards.

"The Demon Heart Seal is acting up, kid, you better leave here, find a quieter place," Purple Cloud felt that something was off with Mu Can and advised urgently.

"Long Yunyun, you go with Lanlan and arrange things for these people. Give those who want to go home some money for the journey, and for those who wish to stay, wait until I return to discuss," Mu Can struggled to maintain clarity and instructed Long Yunyun and Lanlan.

Then she turned around and hurriedly left the village, sprinting towards the peak of Yunlong Mountain.

"What’s wrong with you, are you okay?" Seeing the pallor on Mu Can’s face, Long Yunyun asked with concern.

Unfortunately, Mu Can ran off without turning back.

The Demon Heart Seal was acting up; it was the first time it had done so in Mu Can.

The black Ghost Face slowly emerged at the back of her neck, revealing a sinister smile.

"He’ll be okay, right?" Lanlan also looked with concern in the direction where Mu Can had departed.

She didn’t want anything bad to happen to the benefactor who had saved so many of them.

"He should be fine; he’s quite mysterious, you know. Let’s take care of what he’s arranged for us first," Long Yunyun tried to suppress her nervousness and spoke softly to Lanlan.

"Stay calm, Bao Yuan Shou Yi." Having sprinted to the top of the mountain and sitting atop a huge rock, Mu Can began to fight against the Demon Heart Seal with all her might.
