Chapter 471: Chapter 485: The Calabash Brothers Save Grandpa

Since he knew something about the habits of the Tianze ants, things became much easier.

Before setting out, Mu Can had exchanged for some materials in the Welfare Hall and refined some elixirs to conceal his own scent.

In addition, he prepared some array materials for Wang Cai. As long as he could find the nest of the Tianze ants,

he could turn these Tianze ants into a situation of "Calabash Brothers to the rescue", capturing them one by one.

However, the key problem now lies in finding the nest of Tianze ants.

The entire Great Tianze has an extremely vast area, even larger than the territory of an empire within the Three Realms.

This indirectly increased the difficulty for Mu Can, coupled with the emergence of various high-level fierce beasts within Great Tianze.

Exploration was fraught with difficulties.

Mu Can swallowed a Breath Concealing Pill, which could erase the scent on his body, making it impossible for those fierce beasts that track prey by scent to find him.

Wang Cai, however, didn’t need it, as being an Artifact Spirit, he naturally has no scent of his own.

Wang Cai did not forget to set up a small Array Plate for Mu Can. This portable Array Plate is a miniature version of an array, but the materials required were only collected after arriving at the Supreme Interface.

Mu Can cautiously explored inside the Great Tianze, trying his best to avoid the whereabouts of fierce beasts. With his current cultivation, even if he encountered the lowest level fierce beasts, it would be a fierce battle.

He might even need to rely on the power of the Reincarnation Pearl to defeat the opponent, which would be a loss for Mu Can.

Persistent effort yields success, Mu Can finally discovered the first Tianze ant nest within Great Tianze.

The nest of Tianze ants is particularly easy to recognize. In a place without water, a platform-like structure with large and small holes on top to allow Tianze ants to go in and out.

The size of the nest also reflected the size of the Tianze ant colony from the side.

Someone had once opened a Tianze ant nest, and inside it was as convoluted and winding as a maze.

The nest Mu Can found was only the size of a room, and according to this situation, there would be at most no more than one hundred Tianze ants inside.

For Mu Can, this was just perfect for a trial.

Wang Cai and Mu Can got to work together. The two set up a huge Confusion Array around the Tianze ant nest. Although this array was simple, it had a magical effect on low-level fierce beasts like Tianze ants which totally acted without thought.

After the Confusion Array was set up, this Tianze ant nest became a cage that allowed entry but no exit.

All the Tianze ants could only find the way back to their home from outside but were absolutely unable to come out from the inside.

Mu Can and Wang Cai waited patiently for a day, until all the Tianze ants that had gone out foraging had probably returned to the nest.

Only then did they decide to act.

Wang Cai controlled the Big Formation, opening a small gap at the entrance of the nest. Meanwhile, Mu Can was ready with traps, and even threw a dead Mang ox into the trap, which is a common livestock in the Supreme Interface and one of the preferred foods of Tianze ants.

After the gap was opened, a sturdy black ant the size of Mu Can’s arm nervously poked its head out and walked out.

The two antenna-like appendages on its head were just like two antennas, and its whole body was wrapped in a black carapace, as if it had donned a suit of armor.

Upon seeing a Great Tianze Ant emerge, Wang Cai immediately altered the Big Formation, sealing the entire formation, turning it into a true cage that allowed neither entry nor exit.

After coming out, the Great Tianze Ant looked around strangely, suddenly realizing it couldn’t find its nest anymore.

But having been hungry for a day, the instinct to feed spurred it on, and after sensing the sweet scent of food, it swiftly crawled toward Mu Can’s trap.

Mu Can’s consumed Breath Concealing Pills and the Array Plate provided by Wang Cai both played their part; the Great Tianze Ant did not detect anything amiss at all.

It fell headfirst into the trap.

"Success." Mu Can felt a surge of joy in his heart; he hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly.

Such Great Tianze Ants, as long as there were more than ten, would exceed Mu Can’s current limit to handle, but now there was only one.

He effortlessly dealt with the Great Tianze Ant.

Holding the Crystal in his hand and examining it, it was just a tiny thing, yet it possessed such high value.

Mu Can and Wang Cai replicated the method, directly wiping out this Great Tianze Ant nest entirely.

They harvested more than ninety beautiful Crystals, equivalent to over one hundred and eighty Task Points.

The bodies of the Great Tianze Ants were not wasted either; all were collected into the New World within the Reincarnation Pearl Fourth Layer, where these ant corpses would revert back to the most primal Spiritual Power, nurturing Mu Can’s own small world.

"Let’s keep it up." Mu Can instantly gained confidence, seeing at this rate, accumulating enough Task Points would just be a matter of time.

However, their luck seemed to have run out as they circled Great Tianze for an entire afternoon without finding a second Great Tianze Ant nest.

Instead, they attracted a Fierce Beast and, chased by it for half an hour, they finally managed a narrow escape.

It was a giant snake thick enough to require three people to encircle it, its strength far exceeding the Void Level by several folds. What puzzled Mu Can was that although the Fierce Beasts in Great Tianze were very powerful, they lacked their own Spiritual Wisdom.

Wang Cai also did not know the exact reason, it seemed like in many places of the Supreme Interface, Fierce Beasts were powerful, but they only had animal instincts and no Spiritual Wisdom of their own.

This meant that essential communication was impossible; Fierce Beasts without their own Spiritual Wisdom were, at most, no different from wild animals.

If they were in the Three Realms, a Demon Beast with Martial Arts Sect Cultivation would possess the ability to Transform and have its own Spiritual Wisdom.

As night fell, the two still hadn’t found a new Great Tianze Ant nest, but they did come across a Spirit Fruit. Wang Cai stealthily snuck in, stole the Spirit Fruit, and fled before the Fierce Beast guarding the Spirit Fruit even noticed.

"This Spirit Fruit should exchange for thirty Task Points." Mu Can recognized the type of Spirit Fruit; it happened to be that the Canglang Sect had a task for collecting Spirit Fruits.

Although Great Tianze was filled with various dangers, it also brimmed with all kinds of opportunities.

"I feel like the two of us searching like this is too inefficient." Wang Cai contemplated; searching for ant nests in such a vast territory was not an easy task.

"Should I create some Spiritual Power Avatars?" Mu Can pondered; he indeed had a good solution.

However, due to the suppression issue in the Supreme Interface, the control range of the Spiritual Power Avatars was also very limited, but it would significantly speed up their search.

The two set up a temporary camp in Great Tianze, with an Array established around the perimeter for protection, deciding to spend the night there.
