Chapter 469: Chapter 483: Courting Chong Ming
A nation being a Sect is something Mu Can hadn’t seen or even heard of in the Three Realms.
However, in the Supreme Interface, there really exists such a domain.
In the Canglang Empire, every city is tantamount to a branch of Canglang Sect.
It’s precisely because of this Sects ruling that the strength of Canglang Sect is formidable enough to rank well within the Supreme Interface.
"Big brother Mu Can, how many Task Points have you accumulated?"
Zhang Fatso idly chatted with Mu Can, hoping to play with Mu Can’s black cat today, but had no idea where the cat had gone off to.
"Still about three hundred Task Points. I’ve pretty much taken all the alchemy-related tasks."
Only after arriving at the Supreme Interface did Mu Can realise the importance of Alchemy. He earned a hundred Task Points for each Alchemy task, whereas Zhang Fatso could only earn fifty.
The tasks for Array Masters offer more Task Points than those for Alchemists, but such tasks are rare, typically involving fortifying cities or maintaining Cultivation Rooms.
"I’m so envious of you, the Task Points I get from making these weapons aren’t even half of yours."
Zhang Fatso looked at Mu Can enviously. In Canglang Sect, Task Points represent the speed of cultivation to some extent.
With Task Points, one can exchange for various cultivation resources and even gain access to Cultivation Rooms.
Cultivation in such rooms, which are filled with the most refined Spiritual Power, undoubtedly allows for far greater efficiency.
"You’re not doing badly either. Once you can forge even more powerful Spiritual Weapons, earning Task Points will be much quicker."
Mu Can comforted him. They could only take on rather Basic Level tasks for now, but if his Alchemy Technique improved, he could take on relatively higher-level tasks.
However, Mu Can had decided not to reveal his uniqueness before he obtained the Floating Grass and refined the Heavenly Repairing Pill.
The defect in his body made it evident at a glance that he came from another Plane, which was not a good thing.
The two arrived at the entrance of the Welfare Hall, only to be stopped by someone stretching out an arm.
"Please wait here for a moment, Young Master Chong Ming is inside exchanging for Treasures."
Young Master Chong Ming is the disciple with the highest Cultivation and also the highest-ranked in this city.
Coincidentally, this Young Master Chong Ming was also an Alchemist.
His level was a bit higher than Mu Can’s, so they didn’t compete for the same tasks.
Zhang Fatso tended to be blunt and was about to speak, but Mu Can pulled him aside.
"Don’t cause a conflict, let’s just wait here."
As newcomers to the Supreme Interface, the less trouble, the better. Although he didn’t fear Chong Ming, Mu Can truly had no desire for conflicts at the moment.
"He only joined the Sect before us, and he’s got such a pompous display."
Zhang Fatso grumbled, viewing that everyone was a disciple of Canglang Sect, and didn’t understand why Chong Ming should have special privileges.
"Once you reach his level of Cultivation, you can act the same way." Mu Can was kind of helpless regarding Zhang Fatso.
Basically a simpleton, if Mu Can had not been there just now, the most likely outcome for Zhang Fatso would have been to get hung up and beaten before being thrown out.
The courtesy required between disciples of different levels is quite serious. To lower-level disciples, higher-level ones are considered senior brothers.
Showing respect and proper conduct to a senior brother is one of Canglang Sect’s rules.
Chong Ming has reached the rank of a Dark Level disciple, whereas Mu Can and Zhang Fatso are both the lowest, Yellow Level disciples.
Disciples are divided into four levels: Heavenly, Earth, Dark, and Yellow. The most esteemed Yellow Level disciples have the chance to become direct disciples of the Old Ancestor of Canglang.
The prestige of being a direct disciple of One from the All Things Realm is immense when spread throughout the vast Supreme Interface.
"Hmph, when I reach the Earth Level, I definitely won’t act like him." Zhang Fatso still seemed upset.
"Alright, alright, you’re awesome," Mu Can laughed.
However, he decided that when it was time to leave, he would definitely lend Zhang Fatso a hand.
Such a pure and simple-minded person is rare.
After Chong Ming finished exchanging his rewards, he left with a group.
Just as Mu Can and Zhang Fatso were about to enter, Chong Ming called out to them.
"Is there something you need, senior brother?" Mu Can asked, holding back Zhang Fatso who was about to speak.
"Are you Mu Can? If you have any problems with Alchemy, feel free to ask me."
Chong Ming asked with a smile.
It was already known that a new disciple had taken almost all of the Basic Level Alchemy tasks and completed them all.
Chong Ming, harboring appreciation for talent, knew though rules of Canglang Sect were not rigid, there were many factions within. He began to rally his own supporters early, aiming to take control of a city in the future, only then would he be at the core of Canglang Sect.
"Thank you very much, senior brother." Mu Can replied with a smiling face, but was sneering inside.
If he really went to Chong Ming seeking advice so recklessly, he’d get tagged as being part of Chong Ming’s faction.
Which was not aligned with Mu Can’s current goals at all.
Chong Ming left with his entourage.
"Boss, is it really necessary to woo a newcomer like that?"
One of Chong Ming’s confidants asked as they left.
"This Mu Can is not ordinary. Even I couldn’t have taken on all Basic Level tasks when I first joined. Be careful with this person, and if he can’t be wooed, do not make an enemy of him."
Chong Ming instructed.
An Alchemy fanatic like Mu Can would eventually get the attention of the Sect and might soar to great heights. There are no fools who could cultivate to this level, so Chong Ming didn’t dare to dispose of Mu Can in secret and chose to befriend him instead.
"Big brother Mu Can, why did he tell you to ask him if you didn’t understand anything?" Zhang Fatso asked after entering.
"He’s trying to win me over. Fatso, remember this: If you don’t want to be restrained, don’t join any factions. If you do consider joining one, choose very carefully." Mu Can advised earnestly.
He had a good impression of Zhang Fatso. They joined Canglang Sect together, and Zhang Fatso was always willing to share any good finds with him.
"Big brother Mu Can, I’ll remember that." Although Zhang Fatso didn’t completely understand Mu Can’s meaning, he knew Mu Can would not harm him and quickly took note.
"Sir, I’m here to submit a task." Mu Can walked up to the counter and placed the Elixirs he had refined on the countertop.
"Ah, Mu Can, that’s some good efficiency. In a few days, you should be able to move up a sub-level. Keep it up," the middle-aged man at the counter said smilingly upon seeing Mu Can.
