Chapter 87: 074 Lu Han: Not yet, but it’s only a matter of time (2 updates)_1

Regarding Lu Han’s reaction upon seeing her, Tang Su had imagined many possibilities but the one thing she hadn’t anticipated was that Lu Han’s gaze lingered on her for just a second before moving on.

It was as if he didn’t recognize her at all, as if the previous night when she had stayed over at his house didn’t exist. Even putting aside last night, they were at least friends who had interacted, right?

They had shared several meals, and he had even visited her home and met her parents.

So, why was his gaze so indifferent when he saw her?

As if they were complete strangers?

Could it be—

Could it really be that last night’s incident was so unexpected for Lu Han?

So he wanted to completely distance himself from her?

Suddenly, Tang Su felt a deep sense of sorrow. Even if Lu Han’s reaction wasn’t one of immediate joy upon seeing her, it shouldn’t have been so cold and distant, should it?

When Lu Han took Wu Donglin to the examination room next to the hearing test room, he spoke first, "The examination room needs to be quiet; everyone, please wait outside."

Wu Jie, who had just begun to step forward, withdrew his foot.

Wu Donglin, on the other hand, was quite cooperative with Lu Han. When Lu Han said he should enter alone, Wu Donglin concurred, "I can go in by myself; the rest of you stay outside."

On the other side, Tang Su was completely out of sync with everyone else.

She even thought Lu Han might dislike her, and once a person starts to entertain pessimistic thoughts, all the subsequent ideas tend to be negative.

The more she thought about it, the worse Tang Su felt, and involuntarily, the corners of her eyes reddened.

She wanted to cry, but she couldn’t do it here.

"Wu Jie, I’m going to the restroom. When Grandpa comes out, you guys go ahead with the examination; I’ll call you in a bit," Tang Su said, her voice strained as she turned and ran towards the restroom.

Wu Jie was extremely sensitive to all of Tang Su’s reactions. Hearing that her voice was off, he took a few long strides and caught up with her, "What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy to see Lu Han?"

Aside from the overreaction to Tang Su, Wu Jie didn’t pick up on others’ responses so keenly.

Therefore, he didn’t sense anything amiss in Lu Han’s behavior towards Tang Su earlier.

But what he thought was no big deal was a huge problem for Tang Su.

"It’s not that... it’s just... nature’s calling, don’t block my way," Tang Su said, worried that if Wu Jie continued to obstruct her, her emotions might collapse, and it would be difficult to explain then.

Wu Jie: "..."

In the examination room, Lu Han began with a preliminary check-up before taking out his tool kit to conduct a more detailed examination.

Meanwhile, Wu Donglin was trying to cozy up to Lu Han, "Lu Han, I’m old comrades with your grandfather, you should call me Grandpa Wu."

"I’ll just call you Elder Wu. That won’t interfere with my work, as for Grandpa Wu, I’ll call you that when I visit the Wu Family with my grandfather," Lu Han responded.

"You really do have quite the personality, much like my little grandson in some aspects," Wu Donglin said, not minding at all.

"Wu Jie... he’s your grandson?" Lu Han asked quietly.

"Yes, you know him? Oh, you’re both in Hua City, have you been to that coffee shop where he works?" Wu Donglin was quick to infer. Young people, after all, like that dark, bitter coffee.

Coffee is nothing special; tea is better.

"Mmm," Lu Han nodded.

He didn’t say more. That Wu Jie liked Tang Su made them rivals in a sense.

However, he hadn’t expected that, after giving Tang Su some time to buffer, she would be in such good spirits and even accompany Wu Jie and his grandfather to the hospital.

"The girl who was just with me, did you see her? My Xiaojie likes her," Wu Donglin, quite the chatterbox, saw Lu Han as his own grandson since he had such a close relationship with White-haired Old Man, Lu Han’s grandfather.

Lu Han didn’t make a sound. He thought, he probably knew earlier than Wu Donglin that Wu Jie liked Tang Su.

Wu Donglin understood that Lu Han was not much for words, so he didn’t mind Lu Han’s silence, behaving like a mute gourd; all he needed was someone to listen to him talk.

Whether or not Lu Han responded didn’t matter.

"Don’t you young people nowadays like to make uncooked rice into cooked rice? Last night, I created such a good opportunity for my grandson, but he didn’t treasure it. He let a great chance slip by, saying he wanted Tang Su’s willing consent," Wu Donglin mused.

"By the way, Tang Su is that girl’s name."

Lu Han’s eyes suddenly darkened, but Wu Donglin hadn’t noticed and continued to excitedly tell Lu Han things that would upset him.
