Chapter 643: 600 Wedding 3 (2 more updates)

The oath-taking ceremony was brief, and today was an excellent day for a wedding. Even the head of the church had taken great pains to free up this hour for Lu Han and Tang Su, so there was no time to waste.

Once at the church, it was time for the oath.

After the oath was done, they immediately got into the car and began circling around Beijing, stopping midway to take pictures, and arrived at the hotel by eleven.

The couple stood at the hotel entrance to greet their guests, handing out wedding candies and cigarettes.

A very standard ceremony.

Professor Ming came with his friends, overlapping with other guests, so after signing in, he only had time to nod at Tang Su.

When their eyes met, Professor Ming saw a complex flash in Tang Su’s eyes for a second, and Tang Su was surprised by Professor Ming’s youthful appearance.

People over sixty are considered elderly, yet there’s a difference between a sixty-year-old and those in their seventies, eighties, or nineties.

Tang Su had never imagined that a man over two hundred years old would look barely older than someone who had just reached their sixties or seventies.

In that case, he looked very young, which was greatly at odds with his actual age.

Of course, Tang Su didn’t know many centenarians; she had only seen many of them on TV news, working in the fields, enjoying their meals, which had already amazed her.

Professor Ming was even more impressive.

Had he consumed some kind of elixir for eternal youth?

"Staring in awe?" Lu Han whispered into Tang Su’s ear.

"Yes, he looks so young," Tang Su nodded.

"During dinner, let him talk to you about it."

"Okay."

Guests gradually arrived; Wu Jie and Old Master Wu came at half-past eleven, with Jian Jie in a dress by Wu Jie’s side, and Old Master Wu, cheerful and overjoyed.

His grandson was finally willing to date, which naturally made him as a grandfather happy.

Jian Jie was also beaming, arm in arm with Wu Jie, looking blissfully happy.

"Mr. Lu, Mrs. Lu, happy wedding," Jian Jie said as she accepted the wedding cigarettes and sweets from them, sincerely offering her blessings.

"Thank you," Tang Su and Lu Han replied in unison.

Tang Su glanced at Wu Jie, who blushed slightly, "It’s not nepotism, you know. When I met her and hired her as our store’s designer, I had really just met her."

"Sure, I didn’t say anything, did I? Right, Jian Jie?" Tang Su said to Jian Jie.

"Yes, he’s just being redundant," Jian Jie said with a light laugh looking at Tang Su.

That’s how relationships are between people; at the start, there are genuinely no thoughts, but suddenly, there are, inexplicably. That’s just the way of feelings.

She had had a previous boyfriend, and Wu Jie had harbored feelings for his crush. Everyone is mature, not young boys and girls experiencing emotions for the first time; naturally, there’s no need for their partner to be a first of anything.

Besides, Tang Su was Wu Jie’s crush, and he had good taste.

"You go ahead, we’re going inside," Wu Jie said, then flanked Old Master Wu on either side with Jian Jie.

"Jian Jie with Wu Jie, a well-matched union," Lu Han said to Tang Su, meaning that she, who was once Wu Jie’s boss, could now be reassured.

"Yes, a truly distinguished couple," Tang Su sincerely felt happy for Wu Jie.

Those who came today were prominent figures from Beijing, many of whom Tang Su did not know. Admittedly, Lu Han didn’t know many either, but as visitors to their wedding, they were naturally treated with warm hospitality.

Sun Qing’s family, because they were taking care of Elder Master Sun, arrived late, at twelve.

"Sorry, we are late," Sun Zhengliang apologized with his daughter.

"It’s alright, uncle," replied Bai Dingxian on behalf of Sun Qing.

"Come on in, the ceremony is about to start," Sun Qing didn’t mind, as it was because of their presence that she was able to come over early in the morning to get her bridesmaid makeup done.

"Okay."

After saving seats for Sun Zhengliang and the others and getting them seated, Sun Qing and Bai Dingxian finally returned to the table for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Once they had sat down, the pre-wedding tea ceremony for both sets of parents took place, followed by the bride and groom starting to pour champagne into the tower.

The swearing-in ceremony was held in the church, so it was omitted here, leaving some of the more relaxed parts.

Tang Su had already received quite a few red envelopes earlier, and now the renaming ceremony red envelopes were especially generous, each one almost bursting at the seams, eliciting exclamations from the guest seats.

For today, Tang Shengyi had even asked the leader of a stock group for two highly profitable stocks, otherwise they really couldn’t have afforded such substantial red envelope money.

He did this not to compete with the Lu couple, but to give his daughter a sense of security, letting her know that no matter what the future held, her parents were always her strong support and reliance.

Once the champagne tower was finished, the waiters at each table poured champagne, like that on the stage, or the red wine or drinks requested by the guests, into guests’ glasses.

The whole venue toasting, Lu Han and Tang Su bowed and thanked each guest who took the time to attend their wedding.

Then, the wedding banquet officially began.

Tang Su and Lu Han went down to change into their toasting outfits, Lu Han into another set of black suits and Tang Su into a red cheongsam with a red bridal flower on her head.

Before going to toast, the makeup artist touched up her makeup.

Under Lu Han’s request, today’s guests were significantly reduced, but still, after a round of toasts, Tang Su’s legs felt weak.

Finally, they settled down at the main table where Professor Ming was.

At another main table were Lu Maoyan and Bai Wei, with Tang Shengyi and Su Ruoan hosting, where both families’ closest relatives were present, and here were the bridesmaids and groomsmen, along with a group led by Professor Ming.

Lu Han had two seats saved at this table.

"Have some soup first, it’s cooled down," Sun Qing said compassionately to Tang Su, already having scooped a bowl for her, complete with a black chicken leg.

"Thank you," Tang Su smiled.

Professor Ming sat on the other side of Lu Han, with only Lu Han between him and Tang Su.

Professor Ming also served a bowl of soup for Lu Han, though it contained only a bony chicken head, not a leg.

Lu Han: "..."

Lu Han quietly picked up his soup to drink.

"Tang Su, may I call you by your name?" Professor Ming scooped a spoonful of crystal shrimp into her bowl.

"Um, yes, Professor Ming," Tang Su finally decided to address him the same as Lu Han.

"Good, I have a personal question I’d like to ask you, may I?"

"Yes, you may, but before that, may I ask you a question?" Tang Su was not overly intimidated by him, despite his legendary longevity.

"Sure, ask," Professor Ming laughed heartily.

"Are you really over two hundred years old?" Tang Su asked in a very soft voice.

"Yes, your husband isn’t lying," Professor Ming admitted.

"Thank you, now it’s your turn," Tang Su kept her promise, having asked her question, it was now Professor Ming’s turn.

"Hmm, is your grandfather named Su Zeyang?"

"..."
