Chapter 429: 396 Tang Su: Lu Han, can you tell fortunes?
After leaving Sun Qing’s house, Tang Su went to pick up Lu Han from the hospital.
"Is she okay now?" Lu Han asked as he got into the car.
"Yeah, I wanted to stay with her longer, but she wouldn’t let me."
"It’s fine, since she was allowed to be discharged, there shouldn’t be too much to worry about." Lu Han knew she was concerned about Sun Qing.
"Yeah, I’m not worried."
Thinking about the afternoon, when she was at home, fiercely scolding Lei Wei, she knew that Sun Qing was alright.
"What do you feel like eating tonight?" Tang Su asked. By the time she left Sun Qing’s house, it was nearly time for Lu Han to get off work. If they went to the supermarket now to buy groceries, it would be too late by the time they got home and finished cooking dinner.
"Big brother is treating, so let’s go directly to Yuwei Hotpot."
"...Oh."
On the surface, Tang Su remained calm, but inside she was delighted. Today at noon, when Sun Qing suggested having hotpot, it had sparked her craving for it.
As a result, Sun Qing was so timid in front of Bai Dingxian that when he told her not to eat, she really didn’t eat.
Which was really surprising to her.
However, thinking that there was someone who could discipline her, and that she was willing to accept such restrictions, Tang Su felt happy for Sun Qing.
When they arrived at Yuwei Hotpot, Tang Feng had already reached the private room ahead of them.
Tang Feng was very happy. He had not expected his house purchase that day to go so smoothly—it was essentially a steal. The asking price itself was enticing to him.
Before he set off, he had even asked their father, Tang Shengyi, who told him that the full price of the house for Tang Su was about 1.6 million.
Now, for less than 1.2 million, that definitely meant a profit.
Tang Feng didn’t have that much money, but Tang Shengyi did. Tang Shengyi also told Tang Feng about the card Su Yangming gave to their family.
Whether he wanted to buy a house or a car, his family wasn’t short on funds.
So, when the other party said 1.16 million, Tang Feng did not negotiate the price down at all.
After Tang Feng learned why his little uncle gave them this card, he let Tang Shengyi transfer almost 400,000, and then they paid the full amount to the other party.
Afterward, all the paperwork went smoothly. All that was left was to wait for the real estate registration center to send him the property deed with the updated name.
He was now part of the home-owning class too.
And, his house was right below Tang Su’s—what a fantastic situation.
Although he knew that Lu Han would definitely not bully his sister, with him around, Tang Su would feel more confident, which naturally was better.
Tang Feng also visited the house, and the landlord had put in a lot of effort: a finely decorated interior and all the household appliances, which were high-end, were included.
He wasn’t planning to move in right away, so he didn’t need to decorate and could just move in with his bags.
What Tang Feng was most satisfied with was the location beneath Tang Su’s apartment. Even if Tang Su moved to Beijing with Lu Han in the future, they could have their parents retire and not have to squeeze into the dormitory provided by the hospital.
They could come live with them.
"Why did it take so long? Was there traffic on the road?"
Tang Feng had them sit down. At this moment, it was the restaurant’s peak dining period, and Tang Feng had been waiting alone for almost half an hour.
He didn’t mind waiting for a long time by himself, but the issue was that the waiters were dissatisfied with him taking up a four-person table alone.
They dared not express their anger, but they kept staring at him, silently reproaching him with their gazes.
Luckily, he had thick skin.
After all, it’s first come, first served.
"Yeah, a bit. Also, since Lu Han was riding in my car, I drove slower," Tang Su said.
"Huh—"
To actually say it like that, that was really too much.
"Did you finish all the paperwork for the house?" Lu Han asked, taking the opportunity to change Tang Feng’s mood.
"Yeah, it’s all done. Didn’t you have time to check the message I sent?"
"No time," Lu Han apologized.
"You’re also busy," Tang Feng understood.
"It got sorted out in just one day? Big brother, did you strike it rich?" Tang Su was very curious.
She knew that her older brother received a high subsidy from the military every month and since he was provided with food and accommodation, he had no opportunity to spend money; hence, his savings would naturally accumulate.
But when her brother first joined, the subsidy was minimal, not that high. Yet, he had outright bought a house worth over a million?
Was he really that good at saving?
Or was he running a side business or something that made money?
And he didn’t even ask to borrow from her?
"Yes, it’s all taken care of. I can even move in today if I want to, surprising, right?" Tang Feng teased on purpose.
He had it all planned out. After buying it, he would let a real estate agent rent it out and he would collect a few years of rent first.
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Lu Han was drinking tea and started choking when he heard what Tang Feng said.
Tang Feng smirked. "Is there a need to be that excited? I was just mentioning it. I’m planning to list with an agent. Dad gave me a bit of a sponsorship, and besides, the price was very attractive."
He would have been willing to pay even if the landlord asked for an extra hundred thousand.
Tang Su let out a sigh of relief, "So when you come back, you’re planning on a complete renovation, right? I’ll cover the cost of the renovation."
"Alright, then I thank you in advance." Tang Feng picked out the cuts of meat that Tang Su liked for her.
After satisfying her craving for hotpot, an hour had passed.
She was stuffed and knew Sun Qing wanted to eat but couldn’t, so Tang Su didn’t post on her social media to make her envious.
The three of them didn’t drink as they had driven here in two cars, and in the end, Tang Su was the one who paid the bill.
Tang Feng had just bought a property worth millions, and Tang Su, being the good sister she was, felt sorry for Tang Feng whose wallet had been emptied by the house purchase, and so she didn’t want him to foot the bill again.
Tang Su insisted, as recently she had been very happy collecting money. Actually, if she only collected money without spending it, the joy of collecting it would be considerably less.
Tang Su believed in the principle that one needs to know how to spend money to earn it.
Tang Feng didn’t argue with her, and since Lu Han saw that she was happy to pay the bill and it made his wife happy, he was even less likely to stop her.
After leaving the Yuwei Hotpot restaurant, the trio went their separate ways.
As a result of overeating, Tang Su’s stomach felt uncomfortable and was slightly in pain, not feeling well at all.
Seeing her clutching her stomach, Lu Han pulled the car over to the side of the road, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
"It seems like my stomach, but also not quite." Tang Su touched her belly. Eating too much made it hard for her to distinguish whether it was her stomach that was uncomfortable or something else.
"Could it be that ’your friend’ is about to visit?" Lu Han’s eyes were profound, a hint of regret flashed across his face.
Trying not to let Tang Su notice, he slightly turned his head away.
After adjusting his emotions, he faced Tang Su again.
If it really was that time, there was nothing he could do—let nature take its course.
It wasn’t a big deal to postpone the wedding night.
"Hm?" Tang Su’s period wasn’t very regular or timely, but was it really coming now?
Tang Su closed her eyes and mentally calculated the days. Because her period was often irregular, she could only remember a rough estimate:
It could be at the start, end, or middle of the month—anything was possible.
"Do we have what you need at home, or should we go buy some?" Lu Han asked as he watched her dazed state, somewhat helplessly.
The spot she had been pressing on definitely wasn’t her stomach.
The only thing he was thankful for was that Tang Su’s period hadn’t arrived when he was ’primed to shoot but unable to fire.’
If it had to happen, now was an acceptable time.
"We have some at home, let’s just go back," said Tang Su, still not entirely convinced it was that.
Her periods might be irregular but they rarely hurt, and when they did, it was extremely rare.
By the time Lu Han had parked the car at their residential complex, Tang Su got out and a sudden wave of familiarity hit her—a feeling she recognized all too well.
Instinctively crossing her legs, she asked in a wry amusement, "Lu Han, are you a fortune-teller or something?"
Lu Han: ???
