She stopped there, but a voice from behind her continued, "Or else, how is he to carry on without you?"

Lu Jianxi suddenly turned around and saw it was Long Tian. She couldn’t help but ask, "How come you’re out here too? And why don’t you make a sound when you walk?"

Lu Jianxi chuckled before looking back at Long Tian, "You still haven’t answered me, why did you come out?"

"Why did Lady Lu come out?" Long Tian replied with a faint smile.

"Young Master Long, it seems I was the one who asked you first," Lu Jianxi said with a commanding air.

"Oh, so it’s about who asks first, is it? My answer is the same as yours," replied Long Tian, who seemed to have a natural way of deflecting Lu Jianxi’s assertive manner.

"How do you know what I’m thinking?" Lu Jianxi asked, though in her gaze towards Long Tian, there were hints of self-consciousness.

Long Tian chuckled, "Isn’t Lady Lu worried about the person inside?"

"Correct, Young Master Long, are you too? Are you more concerned about Lady Nan Feng, or are you more concerned about him?"

"Naturally, I am more concerned about Nan Feng," Long Tian said, and seeing the surprise on Lu Jianxi’s face, he added, "He is my good friend and brother; it’s only right for me to worry about him, but Lady Nan Feng and I have a relationship akin to both sibling and friend. She is the one who is seriously injured now, so naturally, I am more worried about her. What about you, Lady Lu? Who concerns you more, Nan Feng or him?"

Lu Jianxi’s eyes were cool, "That’s none of your concern."

"You said you and he along with Lady Nan Feng are good friends. Have you known each other for a long time?" Lu Jianxi deflected the conversation.

"We knew each other before he became so handsome," Long Tian said nonchalantly, "Back then he stirred trouble in my Dragon Tiger Gang."

"The Dragon Tiger Gang? The famous gang from the Jiangnan area?" Lu Jianxi sized up Long Tian again, "I heard the imperial doctor call you the gang leader. Could it be that you are also the head of the Dragon Tiger Gang?"
