Chapter 812: Seeking Dragon Three
Chapter 812: Chapter 812: Seeking Dragon Three
"Your Majesty, Nan Feng must leave, and she promises she will return."
Perhaps because he saw the determination in Nan Feng’s eyes, the Emperor hesitated, but finally granted permission, yet as per the old rules, four guards followed her.
Nan Feng didn’t mind, and taking Xiaoqing with her, she left.
She was too familiar with Fuzhou, and it didn’t take long before they arrived at the mansion of Long San in the Provincial City. The mansion was the same as before, with no changes whatsoever; it seemed that someone came to clean it every day, so Nan Feng knocked on the door.
But after knocking for quite a while, an old servant came out. The servant didn’t recognize Nan Feng and thus asked, "May I ask who you are looking for?"
"I’m looking for Lord Long San, the gang leader," Nan Feng said.
"Oh, the gang leader? He hasn’t lived here for a long time; he’s been staying in Heping County."
"Staying in Heping County?"
"Yes, Lady, if you’re looking for him, I’m afraid you’ll have to go to the county to find him."
Nan Feng was immediately disappointed.
Xiaoqing comforted Nan Feng, "Sister Nan Feng, don’t worry. There will always be an opportunity to see him again. We’ll ask His Majesty for permission to let us visit Heping County."
Nan Feng chuckled bitterly, "Forget it, it would take a whole day’s travel, and with several guards following me, Long San would worry. Let’s wait until I regain my freedom before I go looking for him."
Upon leaving the mansion of Long San, Nan Feng made her way to Spikenard Square, which was now managed by Long San’s people. The shopkeeper there was the flirty one Xiaoqing spoke of.
The shopkeeper recognized Xiaoqing, and seeing Xiaoqing bring someone back, she knew it was Nan Feng.
The shopkeeper scrutinized Nan Feng from head to toe, "So, the woman who haunts Long San’s dreams is this Lady?"
Nan Feng, looking at the shopkeeper, said, "Don’t talk nonsense; Lord Long San’s beloved is not me."
Long San liked men, which Ye Ge had personally told her.
"Do you really believe that?" scoffed the shopkeeper, and then she invited Nan Feng inside the shop, "This shop is yours. Long San has instructed that if you ever return, I should step aside. Or if you come back to get silver notes or any items, that’s fine too."
"I’m just back for a quick visit. However, I do need some silver," Nan Feng said and then skillfully opened the drawer where money was kept and took out a few silver notes, "This much will suffice for me."
"Not a problem. If Long San comes to balance the books at the end of the month, I’ll tell him you’ve been here," the shopkeeper said.
"That would be perfect. Also, do tell him that I’ll find a chance to visit Heping County and see him next time," Nan Feng replied.
"Certainly," the shopkeeper said, watching from the counter as Nan Feng’s figure receded into the distance.
So young, with a slender waist and a small chest, what exactly did Long San see in her?
And that temper of hers, she must be difficult to get along with, right?
...
At that time, Long San wasn’t in Heping County; he was sitting on a boat heading from Quan County back to Fuzhou.
He had traveled overland to Quan County and now he was returning by waterway, hence the boat was not his own but one that required a ticket to board.
Butler Yan had gone to great lengths to secure a spacious spot for Long San to avoid feeling cramped.
In fact, Long San’s health had improved a lot. The imperial doctor dispatched by the Palace had been regulating his health, and he had been getting better day by day.
Perhaps after a little more time for adjustment, he would be like a normal person, and then... getting married? Having children?
It would all be possible, wouldn’t it?
After sitting for a while, Long San asked Butler Yan to get some hot water from the boatman. He no longer felt so cold, but the wind on the boat made his fingers a bit icy; the imperial doctor had instructed that he must not catch a cold.
But when Butler Yan came back with the kettle, his expression was very tense, "Gang leader, there are two people ahead, and they have a portrait of Lady Nan Feng in their hands."
