Chapter 584: Chapter 586 Investigation_1
"That comes from poor blood flow in your body. There’re certain movements that could help," Nan Feng said, sounding like a professional beautician.
"Oh? What kind of movements?"
"They’re a bit complicated to teach here, you’ll need to change clothes and perform them in a ventilated room," Nan Feng laughed, "but I learned these movements from a book. They’re really great for improving circulation. I have a cousin in my village who had spots on her face. After practicing these movements daily, the spots vanished."
"Wow, they’re that effective?" Lady Huang had always been troubled by a small yellow spot by her eye corner. Various Chinese Medicines hadn’t worked, so she suggested to Nan Feng, "I’d like to visit you some day to learn about them. When are you free?"
"Well, I have some work to do in the next two days, so I’m not sure when I’ll have time. Are you home these days? If you are, and I’m available, I can come to teach you. They’re just simple movements after all."
"Oh, that would be wonderful," Lady Huang said gratefully, "I’m usually at home. My husband wouldn’t let me out tonight, otherwise I wouldn’t go anywhere."
...
The next afternoon.
Nan Feng visited Lady Huang’s house using the address she provided. He happened to be free and Lady Huang was very pleased. She quickly welcomed him in.
Lady Huang’s family ran a woodcarving business. Upon entering, Nan Feng saw many workers busying themselves in the yard, all carving ordinary wood.
"Lady Huang, I hear your business is doing quite well. Why are these the only workers?" Nan Feng asked as they walked.
"Oh, there are more in the backyard, a whole row of them."
"No wonder!" said Nan Feng.
They continued the conversation as they reached Lady Huang’s room. Noticing that the windows were tightly shut, Nan Feng asked, "Lady Huang, do you usually keep your windows closed?"
"Yes, the backyard is always bustling, and the wood dust flies around. It’s suffocating if we open the windows!"
"Oh, that’s not good. You’re already suffering from poor blood flow. Lack of ventilation can worsen your spirits. Let’s open it for a while," Nan Feng then pretended to cough, "The scent of the sandalwood you burnt last night is still here. It needs to air out."
As soon as he finished speaking, he went over and opened the window. Lady Huang didn’t stop him.
"Hm, Lady Huang," Nan Feng looked at the row of carvings outside the window, "Are these finished? Why are they put aside after only half is carved?"
Lady Huang glanced over, "Oh, these. I’m not sure. The customer ordered them as semi-finished products. They didn’t want the finished ones. Maybe they’ll finish the work themselves."
Nan Feng asked further, "These woods look top-notch. They must be expensive, aren’t they?"
"These are all top-quality yellow pear wood," Lady Huang laughed, "My spouse recently received a big order from a wealthy city dweller. But as a woman, I don’t bother much about it. Speaking of which, let’s start practicing those movements now, shall we?"
Lady Huang seemed quite eager.
"Sure," Nan Feng closed the window, "The wood dust outside is pretty bad. Lady Huang, why don’t you ventilate your room at night instead, and we can save the movements for bedtime."
