"Is the path ahead blocked?" Nan Feng asked. To construct an Imperial Palace was a significant undertaking, which naturally had to be done discreetly to avoid discovery.

"That’s right, Xingshan Village in Xingshan Town suffered a plague three years ago which wiped out the whole village. Since then, the village has been sealed off, and outsiders are forbidden to enter," Ye Ge revealed, his gaze turning colder.

"So, the plague was man-made, not natural?" Nan Feng asked seriously.

"Exactly, they wanted this village alone."

"That’s too cruel," Nan Feng said, imagining the gruesome death of the entire village, shivering involuntarily.

Ye Ge knew all this beforehand and remained calm, "So, Fengfeng, imagine what Dajin would become if a man like Qin Kun, who stops at nothing, becomes the Emperor?"

As they conversed, they had reached the foot of the mountain and started climbing up a small path.
