"Okay, since I’ve found you, I will stay in an inn and wait for you. Then we can go back together. Does that sound good to you?" replied the man.

Xue Ling seemed stunned for a moment, but quickly replied, "I don’t think that’s necessary. While I say it might take a couple of days, it might be two or three, I’m not sure yet. Why don’t you head back first and I will look for you once I return. How does that sound?"

Her last line obviously parodied the way the man had spoken.

The man appeared to respect Xue Ling a lot, as he quickly agreed, "All right. If that’s the case, I will not wait for you. It’s about dinnertime, so I could invite you out for a meal. Would that be okay with you?"

Xue Ling thought for a moment and agreed, "Sure, would you mind if I invite some of my sisters?"

The man seemed delighted and eagerly agreed, "Of course not, by all means, invite them."

Immediately after saying that, Xue Ling called out to the back of the counter, "Stop hiding! Come out for dinner."

Nan Feng emerged last. When she popped out, she stood graciously as though the person that was hiding and eavesdropping behind the counter wasn’t her. She giggled and asked, "Xue Ling, who is this? Can you introduce him?"

"His name is Yu Peng. You’ve met him once before, remember?"

"Oh, no wonder he looked familiar," Nan Feng laughed, conveniently glossing over the previous meeting.
