Nan Feng primarily missed Ye Ge. However, when she went to Yamen to find him, she was told that he had gone to investigate a case with Prefect Song.

It was a pity she couldn’t see him.

The less she saw him, the more she missed him.

She decided to head back to Spikenard Square.

During her absence, everything at Spikenard Square was functioning normally, under the watchful eyes of Feng Gu and Li Moxiu, avoiding any chaos.

She selected a diligent and smart worker from the newly hired ones to take over the procurement work previously done by Li Moxiu. This allowed Li Moxiu to focus on bookkeeping and managing the whole headquarters - effectively a promotion for him as he took over some of her previous work.

Swiftly thereafter, Nan Feng processed the powder ground by the workers, concocted a few large vats of facial cleanser, and then had the workers box and crate them. She planned to have Li Moxiu deliver batches of products to the branches periodically.

After sorting out the business at the headquarters, she visited the previously acquired rouge shop to review the bills and assess the business performance during that period.

After these efforts, she finally returned to the mansion for some rest.

However, in the middle of the night, she felt the other side of the bed sink in and quickly opened her eyes.

In the dim light, a large figure was sitting beside her bed.

She wasn’t sure how long he had been there, but Nan Feng didn’t care. She had missed him so much and was engulfed with longing, so she instantly got up and threw herself into his arms. "Tell me, am I dreaming?" she asked.

Ye Ge didn’t reply, he first held her then gently pushed her down. His voice was a rustling whisper in her ear: "What about now? Is it more real?"

His warm breath brushed her ear and his robust and heavy body had her gasping for breath.

What could be more realistic than this?

She clasped him round the neck and laughed, "Now it’s really real, very real indeed. When did you get back? I didn’t see you when I looked for you this afternoon."

"Just got back. I heard from Wu Yang that you came, so I came as soon as my shift ended," Ye Ge said, carefully lying down beside her, careful not to put too much weight on her.

Nan Feng turned and embraced his waist, "Where have you been all this while? What have you been doing?"

"There was an important case in Lishui Town where Lord Song had sent me to investigate," Ye Ge replied while playing with her hair.

"And how’s the situation now?"

"The suspect escaped two days ago. Yamen is currently casting out the net to catch him, we definitely will," Ye Ge’s voice was gentle.

The light in the room was dim and Nan Feng couldn’t see Ye Ge’s face clearly. However, she felt his clothes and it seemed like his Yamen uniform. Hence, she suggested, "Why don’t you take off your clothes and sleep?"

She heard Ye Ge quickly get up and in no time, he was lying down again. When she reached out, she found him bare-chested.

"Aren’t you cold after undressing so much?" Her voice was low and coy.

However, Ye Ge quickly slid under the covers. His body was warm, always warm even in winter. He held her close, "I’m not cold, are you?"

Nan Feng often had cold feet in winter, sometimes her hands and feet would get icy. This was something Ye Ge had discovered the last time they slept together.

He placed her feet on his thigh to warm them - even though her feet had already warmed up after half the night, she still found this extremely comforting.

She moved closer to him, wrapping her arms around his bare torso, "I heard that very few men are willing to warm their wives’ feet. Why are you so good to me?"
