Chapter 417: Chapter 419: You Can Punish Me_1

It took a while for Nan Feng to regain her composure. She turned to look at Ye Ge and asked, "What happened today? Did you encounter someone or something in the provincial city?"

Ye Ge, who was really tired, regained his calm demeanor upon hearing Nan Feng’s question. He kissed her forehead and caressed her face, "Nothing really, I’m fine now that I see you."

Really?

It didn’t seem that simple, did it?

After saying this, Ye Ge took her hand and kissed it, "Fengfeng, thank you for giving me such a wonderful experience."

Nan Feng’s face turned red, she buried her head in his chest. Not knowing what else to say, she blurted out, "You’re so bad!"

He held her a little tighter, "I missed you a lot these past few days."

"Yeah, me too," Nan Feng responded, moving even closer to him.

...

By dinner time, Ye Ge seemed alright.

He had quite an appetite, but Feng Gu didn’t know he would be there. She only made food for two and, because Nan Feng had done some exercise, she was very hungry. She gave Feng Gu some money to go eat outside because there was no food for her.

Nan Feng, focused on her food under the candlelight, was surprised when Ye Ge put a piece of lotus root in her bowl.

She quickly ate the piece of lotus root, and as Ye Ge added another, she looked up, her face flushing red as she met his intense gaze and thought about what had happened earlier.

"Why aren’t you eating?" Nan Feng asked.

"I’m full," said Ye Ge, placing his chopsticks down, his attention now focused solely on her.

"Can you stop watching me? I can’t eat with you staring like that," Nan Feng said, holding her bowl.

"If you can’t manage, I can feed you," Ye Ge offered, his gaze still locked on her.

"..." Nan Feng dumped the remaining food into her bowl and said while eating, "You’ve changed since you returned from the provincial city. Have you done something guilty?"

Ye Ge simply smiled and remained silent.

Nan Feng joked, "Feeling guilty, aren’t you? Did you get stolen away by some Lady? That’s why you came back acting like you did something wrong."

It was then that Ye Ge spoke, "You’re right, I’ve been stolen away by one of the Ladies out there. In fact, she’s the belle of the bunch. She wanted me to stay in the city and offered to support me. Do you believe what I just said?"

"No," Nan Feng prodded his forehead with her chopsticks, "You don’t have the guts."

"Aren’t you the one who started it?"

"So, because I started it, you have to act on it? You know how to annoy me now," retorted Nan Feng.

"Then punish me!"

"..." On hearing the word "punish", the explicit scenes from the afternoon flashed through Nan Feng’s mind. Her face flushed, "I won’t punish you, I’ll let you off."

"..."

After a while, Ye Ge asked Nan Feng, "So, how did the investigation in County go? Can we open a branch there?"

Nan Feng nodded, "Yes, we’ve already rented the premises. I think the prospect of opening a shop there is pretty good."

Ye Ge couldn’t help but feel a little down, "Then I won’t see you for a long time."

Nan Feng found Ye Ge’s behavior a bit odd. They were both busy and didn’t have much time to see each other, but Ye Ge seemed unusually clingy today.

"That won’t happen," Nan Feng reassured him, holding his hand and speaking as if comforting a child, "I’ll hire people as soon as the shop opens. Once they’re trained, I can come back because, after all, Ping County is my main store."

"Good, that puts my mind at ease!" Ye Ge replied.
