Chapter 199: Chapter 201: Finished Eliminating _1

Yege chuckled, "First, during the period when the mountain bandits arrived, I quietly observed your actions. You’re intelligent, agile and exceptionally calm in an emergency, which gives you great potential to become a heroine."

"Are you going to say ’but’ next?" Nan Feng playfully asked.

"But you lack lightheartedness. You can manage to take on ten people at once, but twenty would be an issue. I can’t let you take on that risk."

Nan Feng pouted to express her dissatisfaction, "Then I won’t cause any more trouble. However, when you come back, you need to teach me how to be light-hearted so that I don’t always need a rope to climb over walls."

"No problem," Yege gently kissed Nan Feng’s forehead again.

"Then..." Nan Feng glanced at the sky, "It’s getting late, I should go home."

"Alright, once I’ve finished what I’m currently doing, I’ll come back to find you," Yege gave her another kiss.

"Mm!"

Nan Feng was reluctant to leave the mountain.

After reaching the foot of the mountain, she turned back and saw Yege still standing by the reservoir, watching her.

She waved at him, and he waved back. Then Nan Feng kept looking back every few steps she took.

It wasn’t until she arrived home that Nan Feng suddenly remembered that Yege had promised to share his past with her, but he had only told her his name and age.

Never mind, if he didn’t want to talk about it, she wouldn’t push it.

What was past was past, all she cared for was his present.

Nan Quanyou was peeling garlic by the kitchen door, watching Nan Feng outside as he did so.

He was sure he was not mistaken; Nan Feng was actually doing embroidery.

She embroidered for a while, then she stopped to smile and started again, only to stop to laugh a while later.

Ever since Yege came back, her smile had also returned.

Sometimes she was laughing for no reason at all.

Nan Quanyou shook his head, remembering the time when he first fell in love and would casually sit alone and giggle.

Nan Feng was embroidering a sachet. After a while, unsatisfied with her work, she undid it and then dashed out the door.

Over at Aunt Lan’s house.

"Aqiu, Aqiu, are you home?" Nan Feng yelled through the courtyard gate.

The door to their hall was open, and from inside came the noise of loud conversation, they seemed to have guests.

After a while, Aqiu’s head popped out, "Oh, it’s Miss Feng? Come on in quickly."

So, Nan Feng entered.

"Aqiu, do you have guests at your house?" Nan Feng asked.

"Yes, my aunt and uncle from Daji Village came over now that the busy farming season is over," she answered.

"Do you have some free time then? I want you to teach me how to embroider a sachet. It’s too intricate for me," asked Nan Feng.

"Sure, but come and sit for a while first. My aunt brought some roasted pastries. You should taste some too."

The roasted pastry was a local delicacy that was usually enjoyed during the New Year, so naturally, Nan Feng was eager to try it.

Aqiu brought over a stool from inside for Nan Feng to sit on. Aqiu’s aunt and uncle were quite welcoming too, urging Nan Feng to eat more pastries.

Nan Feng was not one to refuse. She picked one up and started eating.

Aqiu’s uncle and Aunt Lan continued their conversation.

Aqiu’s uncle said, "Thanks to the efforts of the county government, we heard that most of the mountain bandits in Heping County have been eradicated. Otherwise, we would be too afraid to even go out. It’s so nice that we can move around freely again."

The moment Nan Feng heard this, she immediately stopped eating her pastry and asked, "Most of them have been eradicated? Who did you hear that from?"
