Yet, the Second-in-command posed a question: "I heard as you were expelled from the village after sexually harassing a woman, is that true?"

The mountain bandits upon hearing Wang Dachuan’s provocative words, all hollered in excitement, "Punish" "Punish!"

The bandits were fired up, whipping their horses, and charged towards the village.

In the darkness of the night, arrows shot from an unknown direction and struck towards the bandits.

A total of eight arrows were showered and six managed to pierce through bodies while the remaining hit the horse’s leg. For a moment, the cries of bandits and the neigh of horses echoed in the night sky.

"Be careful, it’s an ambush!" cried Wang Dachuan.

The mountain bandits, now showing signs of fear, did not dare to advance recklessly.

The darkness ahead was still thick, with houses and trees faintly discernible like specters.

The Second-in-command also took an arrow to the chest; he was spitting blood and shuddering. Wang Dachuan quickly rushed to press on his wound end.

"What should we do? Should we continue the charge?" a voice tremblingly asked from behind.

Before Wang Dachuan could respond, more arrows shot from the darkness. Several more bandits were either killed or injured, which made the atmosphere even more terrifying. Of the original twenty or so men, only a few could now flee.

With the Second-in-command wounded, only Wang Dachuan had any clout now, so he immediately ordered the bandits to retreat.

Soon, the bandits fled like stray dogs.
