"Yeah, people outside talk like that. They’re not like you; living together for so long and still sleeping separately. But your business is none of my concern, take your time with it. Uh... I’m full, I’m going to head back now. I still have clothes to wash at home!" Xia Dabao said as she put down her bowl.

"Hey, you..." Axiang wanted to persuade her to have another bowl of rice, but Xia Dabao had already disappeared in a flash.

Xia Dabao had been with the Dragon Tooth Gang for so long, she had learned quite a bit of Martial Arts, and with how perilous Jianghu was, she practiced her skills almost every night. While she was washing, a Carrier Pigeon flew in from afar and landed in Xia Dabao’s courtyard.

Seeing the pigeon, Little Grass wanted to pounce on it. Startled, the pigeon immediately flew up to the rooftop.

Xia Dabao gave Little Grass a kick, "Nosy dog!"

She suddenly remembered that day at the dock, Xiao’ai had mentioned she had something to say which would be inside a letter. The letter must have been written by Xiao’ai.

"Hey, you pigeon, are you that timid? Scared off by a dog like that? Come down quickly, don’t delay me reading the letter," Xia Dabao called out to the pigeon in the yard, gesturing with her hand for it to come down.

It took a while before the Carrier Pigeon flew down and perched on Xia Dabao’s arm.

She unraveled the paper from the pigeon’s leg and sat back down on a small stool before unfolding the letter. But Little Grass, for some reason, suddenly leaped into the washbasin in front of her, splashing the water mixed with soapberries into Xia Dabao’s eyes. Xia Dabao cursed the stupid dog again and now had to wipe her eyes and rinse them with clean water.

She casually placed the letter next to Axian, asking her to watch it while she went into the room to grab a dry cloth to wipe her eyes. Her sight finally clear, she went to fetch some clean water from the well to rinse her eyes.

After she had done all this, she could see clearly again.

Her heart set on Xiao’ai’s letter, she turned back to take a look, only to find that Axian had already run back into the house, and Little Grass was tearing something apart—the letter was nowhere to be seen.

Xia Dabao panicked inside—could it be...

She hurried over to Little Grass in just a few strides and kicked it away. When she saw the torn scraps of paper on the ground, she suddenly wanted to chop up Little Grass and have it for dog stew—

The letter had been shredded to bits; not a single word on it could be made out anymore!

"Stupid dog, I’ll kill you!" Xia Dabao threatened fiercely, and Little Grass realized it was in big trouble and quickly hid. Xia Dabao gave chase immediately; as Little Grass jumped up and down, Xia Dabao did the same.

Axian came out of the house and saw her sister frantically chasing a dog, which left her puzzled.

Didn’t her sister always say, "Don’t bother with animals"?

Axian was quite baffled.
