"Okay, then I’ll take her now," Xia Dabao replied, throwing a piece of meat into the Kennel to lure the mother dog, Xiaohei, inside. She then had Axian block Xiaocao, waiting for Xiaohei to go in before scooping up Xiaocao.

After eating the meat in the Kennel, Xiaohei realized she had been tricked. She looked longingly at the people outside and at Xiaocao in Xia Dabao’s arms. She had given birth to five puppies, and now only the last one remained; naturally, she was reluctant to part with it. "Then, can I give her a bath when I get back?" Xia Dabao asked.

"You can bathe her. The sun is good today, so make sure to wash her well and let her dry off under the sun. Later on, you can bathe her once every one or two months, but not too often, as it could make her sick," Tian Xiaobei reiterated.

"Okay, then I’ll head back now."

Xia Dabao was about to leave when Tian Xiaobei suddenly called out to her, "Wait, Abao."

"Yes, what’s up?" Xia Dabao asked.

"This afternoon... Are you going to cut readgrass?" Tian Xiaobei asked.

"Sure, cutting readgrass is my task. My parents are preparing to plant potatoes, so no one else can replace me in cutting readgrass now," Xia Dabao explained.

"Then, should we go together?" Tian Xiaobei somewhat invited.

Xia Dabao nodded, "Sure thing."

The house grew livelier with the addition of a new puppy. Brother Ye went up the mountain to cut down a tree, and in no time, he made a doghouse for the puppy and even lined it with some clothes so that it could be cozy and warm.

While Brother Ye was building the doghouse, Xia Dabao and Axian boiled water to bathe the dog. The puppy was somewhat afraid of the bath, struggling nonstop, drenching both siblings by the end of the bath.
