Pampered by My Secret Husband

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Other women are allowed, but not me?

When he woke up, he found her beside him.

It was her first time...

William Guillen was very troubled. As was his usual habit, he left her a card and then departed.

When Fluffy Zane woke up, she faced an empty suite, a card on the bedside table, and a note with a password written on it.

At that time, holding the card in her hand, Fluffy Zane’s heart ached as if sliced by a knife.

The man she had loved for eight years had dismissed her like one of those indecent women from the streets.

How ironic!

William Guillen’s silence was undoubtedly a tacit admission.

Fluffy Zane’s figure swayed. William Guillen took two steps forward and, ever the gentleman, supported her, asking with a hint of concern, "What’s wrong? Are you okay?"

Fluffy Zane wanted to laugh, but she couldn’t.

She finally understood the meaning of that saying: some men are wicked on the surface, while others are wicked to the core.

Clearly, William Guillen was the latter.

Gentleness and elegance were his mask. Beneath it, his nature was wicked to the core.

His gentlemanly demeanor and his concern were merely formalities, unrelated to love. None of it was even heartfelt.

Fluffy Zane’s eyes blurred with tears. She clenched her teeth, struggling to hold them back. "If I say something is wrong, will you care more about me?"

Pride, dignity—she could give it all up.

As long as he could show her even a little concern, she would be content.

William Guillen raised his hand and gently stroked her head, his gaze holding a hint of what might have been affection. "Fluffy, if you’re not feeling well, I’ll have my secretary take you to the hospital."

With that one sentence, the fragile hope in Fluffy Zane’s heart shattered completely.

Her tears streamed down like rain. She grabbed his sleeve helplessly. "What if... I play your game?"

"Hmm?"

"An adult’s game." Each word was incredibly difficult for Fluffy Zane to utter, every syllable a painful sting.

William Guillen smiled at her, his gaze warm and seemingly harmless, but he didn’t speak.

"Why is it okay for other women, but not for me?"

"You’re different from them."

Yes, they were different.

Because they knew each other, because their families were acquainted, she couldn’t even get a response to her most desperate plea.

She let go of his hand, her heart shattered, and turned to leave in a hurry.

Sophie Sullivan was holding Thomas Shannon’s arm when a figure rushed out of the office, staggering and nearly falling.

Letting go of Thomas Shannon’s arm, Sophie Sullivan stepped forward and caught her. "Be careful."

Fluffy Zane looked up, tears streaming from her eyes. Seeing Sophie Sullivan, she faltered for a moment. "Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

Sophie Sullivan released her. Fluffy Zane lowered her head, wiped away her tears, and whispered, "Excuse me."

Sophie Sullivan turned her head, watching Fluffy Zane’s retreating figure, lost in thought.

"What are you looking at?" Thomas Shannon’s cold voice pulled her back from her thoughts.

Sophie Sullivan retracted her gaze and turned her head. "What’s Fluffy Zane’s relationship with William Guillen?"

Thomas Shannon raised his hand and tapped her on the head. "Don’t meddle in other people’s affairs."

With that said, he led her into the President’s Office.

William Guillen was sitting on his desk, one long leg braced against the floor, his head lowered as he took a deep drag from a cigarette.

Hearing footsteps, his brow furrowed sharply. He was about to reprimand whoever it was when he saw it was Thomas Shannon, and his expression finally softened.

"Thomas, what brings you here?"

Thomas Shannon motioned for Sophie Sullivan to sit on the sofa. He then walked up to William Guillen, his cold eyes glinting with amusement. "So, why was Fluffy Zane here?"
