Chapter 240: Good Brother

Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Good Brother

Inside the car.

An Yin sat obediently in the passenger seat, fastened her seatbelt, and looked up to find the man’s dark eyes staring at her. She mumbled softly, "I could have taken a taxi back to school."

Bao Shaojin turned a deaf ear to her.

After the car started, An Yin couldn’t help but think of what the man had said.

Summon at will and dismiss at will!

She slowly turned her head, pretending to look at the scenery outside the window, while her mind pondered the man’s words.

Was she really so overbearing?

Every time she encountered difficulties, she would seek the man’s help without considering whether he would be willing to assist her. Yet, he always helped her, and not only that, he never asked for any reward.

Soon, An Yin recalled several coincidences.

When she was sick, the man just happened to appear at the hospital...

Thinking of this, An Yin felt as if something was about to emerge. After taking a nervous breath, her eyes fluttered, and she spoke in her clear voice.

"Bao Shaojin, you’re a good brother!" After suppressing her restless thoughts, An Yin concluded that the reason Bao Shaojin was taking care of her must be because of Bao Cheng...

Otherwise, why would he repeatedly take care of her?

As soon as she uttered these words, Bao Shaojin’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, and a shadow of sadness flickered in his eyes.

A good brother?

Wasn’t the girl implying that all his kindness towards her was merely because she was Bao Cheng’s girlfriend? Hmph...

An Yin didn’t dare look at the man’s expression. It wasn’t until he didn’t deny her words that she sighed in relief, though she felt a hollow sensation internally, almost like a touch of bitterness.

Bao Shaojin’s car stopped at the usual place, and before getting out, she sincerely said "thank you" to the man, then opened the car door and stepped out.

The moment the girl got out, Bao Shaojin rolled down the window, naturally took out a cigarette, and his misty eyes were concealed by the smoke as he still glanced in the direction where the girl had left.

"Good brother..." Bao Shaojin scoffed, his words full of self-mockery.

On a normal day, the school gate would be bustling with students. However, tonight there was a party, and most of the students were gathered happily in the auditorium, making the street appear deserted.

When An Yin hurried to the auditorium, she was greeted by a round of applause audible from within, and even before entering, she could sense the festive atmosphere inside.

An Yin quickened her pace and, looking around, saw that every seat was occupied. She could only slowly move along the wall towards one side.

When she could clearly see the stage, she discovered that the class currently performing was hers.

With the melodious opera singing, the girls on stage gracefully twirled their long sleeves, complementing the playful and cute dance. Jiang Keke was surrounded by the girls in the center, spinning and leaping flawlessly through challenging dance moves.

The audience was filled with constant exclamations of amazement.

An Yin was dazzled, and for a brief moment, it seemed as if she saw the sunny Jiang Keke!

Their dance concluded to the sound of applause rising and falling in waves.

After pushing through the crowded aisle to reach backstage and congratulate her friend, An Yin finally managed to reach the back. Seeing the girl guarding the entrance, she hesitantly asked, "Hey, can I go in to find Jiang Keke?"

"Jiang Keke just left through the back door," the girl paused on An Yin’s face for a few extra seconds.

The beauty of the campus belle was even more breathtaking than the rumors! The girl marveled.

"Okay, thank you." An Yin smiled at the girl.

On An Yin’s beautiful face, her willow-leaf eyebrows were gently curved, as if smiling. Her clear, bright eyes were like water, her almond-shaped eyelids carried a touch of playful charm, radiating a striking beauty.

The girl was entranced for a moment, "You’re welcome."

An Yin noticed the peculiar gaze from the other and, feeling uneasy, turned and left.

When she exited the auditorium, she took out her phone and made a call to Jiang Keke.

There was no answer, so An Yin eventually sent a message.

An Yin: [Keke, someone said you already left when I came backstage. Did you return to the dormitory?]

After sending the message, there was no response for a long time.

An Yin had no intention of staying in the auditorium any longer. When she returned to the dormitory and saw it was empty, she realized the answer.

Bao Cheng must have picked up Jiang Keke!

At the school gate.

Bao Cheng held a large bouquet of red roses. When he saw Jiang Keke sprinting out from the campus, he opened his arms and embraced her warmly.

"Keke, I watched the video you had someone record. Your dancing was beautiful, it was worth having top dancers flown in from abroad to guide you," Bao Cheng said, his voice filled with indescribable pride.

"Hee hee..." Jiang Keke took the flowers with one hand, inhaling deeply to savor their fragrance, "Ah Cheng, you’re the best to me!"

"Of course," Bao Cheng said smugly.

"Lower your head." With her head tilted up, Jiang Keke’s eyelashes fluttered lightly, complementing her exquisite makeup. Her eyes were like lively autumn waters.

Bao Cheng dutifully lowered his head, and in the next instant, her warm lips touched his cheek. Just as his eyes filled with desire and he was about to kiss back, Jiang Keke gently patted his arm.

"Don’t you see where we are?" A blush spread across Jiang Keke’s face. "Let’s get to the car first."

"As you wish, sweetheart." Bao Cheng nodded.

His handsome face, with fringe of delicate hair fluttered by the wind, resembled a jagged black curtain, shading eyes filled with lust.

With one arm wrapped around Jiang Keke’s waist, her lips slightly curved with a hint of an ephemeral smile.

As they walked a few steps along the sidewalk, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom flashed past on the road.

A few seconds later, the sound of a sudden brake pierced the sky, making it hard not to notice.

Bao Cheng and Jiang Keke couldn’t help but glance back, but the car was a bit far from them, and from where they stood, they couldn’t see clearly.

Finally, Bao Cheng settled Jiang Keke into the passenger seat before quickly returning to the driver’s seat.

When their car started moving, they didn’t notice a car following them, which maintained a constant distance from the front car from beginning to end.

After Bao Cheng’s car drove into the underground garage, no one got out of the car.

Soon after, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom parked not far from his spot, against the wall, and from inside, the occupant could clearly observe Bao Cheng’s car.

Inside the car, the man’s fingers held a cigarette. As the window rolled down, a gentle breeze brushed through, and his hair swayed lightly, his black eyes partially hidden behind his fringe, revealing a mysterious somberness. His sharply defined face bore chiseled and rugged features.
