Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Got the Photos, Master Pedro Gets Jealous [Part 1]
Fernwood Entertainment, CEO’s office.
Pedro Langley sat in the office chair and casually opened a drawer, taking out a book.
Zero’s "Death Legend."
Since he brought the book home, both Butler Loxley and Jack Carter had been reading it. Due to the familiar style of the illustrations, he had casually taken one to the company a few days ago but hadn’t had a chance to read it.
Knock. Knock.
The sound of knocking came at just the right moment.
"Mr. Langley." It was Nathan Salt’s voice.
"Come in."
Nathan Salt pushed the door open, closed it, and glanced at Pedro Langley with a slightly nervous expression before walking over briskly.
"Mr. Langley, this is the news suppressed this morning."
Nathan Salt handed a stack of photos to Pedro Langley.
The photos spread out, featuring two protagonists, a man and a woman. Some were unclear, not showing faces, but one person... just by looking at the figure, Pedro Langley could recognize them.
There were shots of them walking side by side, conversing, getting into a car together...
"Henry Chapman?"
As his gaze landed on the man’s photographed face, Pedro Langley’s eyes instantly darkened, emanating a dangerous aura.
Just as expected...
Nathan Salt thought hopelessly to himself.
Since being recruited into the company, he had been assigned a "special task" by Pedro Langley—to keep an eye on a small-time celebrity named Nora Scott, know all news related to her within the industry, but never interfere.
Of course, he knew the weight she held in Pedro Langley’s heart.
"It’s him."
Nathan Salt nodded with determination.
Pedro Langley’s sharp gaze swept across him.
Without waiting for his question, Nathan Salt spoke up, "According to the reporter’s description, they came out together from a barbecue shop, had no inappropriate actions, got into the same car. No driver, no assistant, the woman was driving. The photos have been bought, and the news has been suppressed, absolutely won’t be made public."
Pedro Langley’s brows furrowed tightly.
Last night he returned to the Langley Residence and didn’t go to Cloudwater Haven.
Excluding one Miguel Smith, now there’s Henry Chapman... how many male friends does she have to go out for midnight snacks?
Incontrovertible, he thought of Nora Scott’s smile when mentioning Henry Chapman with Montague and Eduardo, and her words of affirmation and praise for Henry Chapman...
An inexplicable emotion surged in his heart.
Burning uncomfortably.

With no classes in the morning, Sophie Scott stayed home, not in a hurry to return to school.
But just after going downstairs and having breakfast with her family, Sophie Scott locked herself in her bedroom and kept checking the news on her phone.
Until ten o’clock, still unable to find any news about "Henry Chapman, Nora Scott," Sophie Scott finally relaxed.
She let out a long breath.
She made a call to Lily Turner.
"Sophie, I’ve been wanting to find you," Lily Turner’s voice was as gentle as ever.
Sophie pursed her lips and said: "I haven’t seen any news online about Henry Chapman and Nora Scott."
"Just wanted to tell you that," Lily Turner said with a light-hearted tone, "The reporters took photos, but the matter has been handled, and the news won’t be made public."
"Really?" Sophie’s joy was uncontrollable, "Thank you, Lily."
"I didn’t do much."
Lily Turner spoke truthfully.
She did want to help, but was a step too late; the photos taken by reporters had already been bought by someone unknown, and all information blocked.
But, these words fell on Sophie’s ears as mere politeness; all credit was hers.
"How much did you spend, I’ll pay you back." Sophie completely put her mind at ease, speaking in a cute and cheerful tone.
"Talking about money hurts feelings."
"I really don’t know how to thank you," Sophie said in a relieved tone, "so maybe I should treat you to a meal first."
"No need to be polite. Speaking of which, I haven’t thanked you for your autograph; it really helped me out. If anyone’s treating, it’s me treating you," Lily Turner responded politely, "How about tomorrow night at Virtue Retreat?"
Sophie responded without thinking: "Sure."
Though things didn’t go as planned, after a night of fear and anxiety, Sophie couldn’t care about anything else, as long as she didn’t "mess things up," it was already a good result.
After hanging up the phone, Sophie curled her lips and happily flopped onto the bed, cuddling a pig pillow and rolling over.
Just then, a new WeChat message arrived, and Sophie cheerfully reached for her phone.
[CC Comics·Editor Molly Forest: Cute one, is the new idea lined up yet, can we start before the end of the year?]
New idea...
Throwing her phone aside, Sophie buried her face in the pillow.
For some reason, the first thing that flashed in her mind was the fresh, energetic, and unconventional story from last night...

Cloudwater Haven.
The night was pitch-black, and pedestrians were few.
Nora Scott carried two shopping bags, walking leisurely along the road.
Behind her, two headlights shone through, accompanied by the sound of car wheels rolling over the ground, coming from afar and getting closer, finally stopping as it passed her.
Nora tilted her head, catching sight of the driver’s window lowering, revealing Pedro Langley’s expressionless face.
"Get in the car."
Two simple and clear words, the voice steady and low, yet without any emotion.
Nora stopped walking, glanced at the nearby building, and said, "Just a few steps."
"..."
Pedro Langley stared silently at her for a few seconds, his dark eyes swirling with complex emotions, without speaking.
Nora proceeded forward.
The car wheels rolled forward, slowly, with a speed almost matching hers.
When she sped up, the car sped up; when she slowed down, the car slowed down.
After walking less than five meters, Nora furrowed her brows slightly and stopped again.
Her expression showed slight anger, but just as she turned around, she met two eyes that looked at her accurately, wrapped in an invisible force.
Locked in a stalemate.
Silent.
After a few seconds, Nora reluctantly conceded, not saying a word, but heading to the back door of the car, and pulling it open to get in.
The car window remained open, letting in a draft that swept away any warmth inside.
The distance was so short that people hadn’t been frozen stupid when the car drove into the underground parking lot, replacing the cold air with the car’s heating.
Nora leaned back, right leg over her left knee, arms crossed, watching to see what he wanted to do.
Normally a rather steady and composed person, today he seemed to have gone mad, driving the car recklessly, even reversing with a sharp swerve, making the unbelted Nora feel a bit dizzy.
Once the car was stable, she frowned irritably, opened her mouth, ready to sarcastically comment, suddenly interrupted—
"Bang!"
The front car door slammed shut.
Nora: "..." Where did this temper of his come from?
While silently criticizing him, the car door on her side suddenly opened, a shadow casting down as a sense of pressure hit suddenly, inside and out, a personal "I’m gonna fight" posture.
Will they fight?
But—
What reached over wasn’t a fist, but a hand.
Nora paused.
The next moment, she heard a low and muffled voice, "Bag."
She sat in the car, looking up, unable to see his expression, only able to see his chin and thin lips, chilly.
She didn’t move, and his hand didn’t retract.
After a while, Nora, with slight caution, placed both bags on his hand.
He grabbed them and stepped back, making room.
Strangely enough...
Nora got out of the car, and with the dim and hazy light of the basement, she vaguely saw Pedro Langley’s brows and eyes, feeling slightly uneasy inside.
Closing the car door, Nora asked puzzled, "Did you run into something troubling?"
