Chapter 26: Chapter 26: In Her World, Giving Up Is Not an Option

"Senior?"

The exclamation was filled with disbelief and joyful excitement.

The motion of wearing sunglasses paused, and Nora Scott looked up to see a young man standing not far ahead. Around twenty-three or twenty-four, with a bit of baby fat, bright eyes, holding a few books in his arms, exuding a scholarly aura, he was staring blankly over here.

The surprised expression froze for a few seconds, and finally, after regaining his senses, he walked briskly over to them.

"Senior, it’s really you!"

The young man couldn’t hide his delight, his eyes shining, emotions complex, filled with joy, excitement, admiration...

Admiration?

Pedro Langley’s expression turned a bit somber.

But in the next moment, he felt relieved—

"And you are?"

Nora Scott arched an eyebrow, showing confusion, evidently unable to recall who the young man was at the moment.

"..."

The smile on the young man’s face froze for a moment.

Soon, he quickly came to terms with it, still overjoyed, and introduced himself, "My name is Montague, I’m from the year below you, and like you, I majored in Mechanical Engineering. We were both in the photography club before, do you remember?"

Nora Scott frowned in thought.

At this moment, Pedro Langley’s expression, listening beside, became somewhat subtle, as he asked Nora Scott with deep meaning, "You were in the photography club?"

He had once witnessed Nora Scott’s photography skills and was shocked by her twisted understanding of photography.

"..."

If Pedro Langley had a more expressive face, Nora Scott had no doubt she would see the words ’hell no’ on his face.

"Got a problem?" A cold glare flew from Nora Scott’s eyes.

"No."

Pedro Langley answered seriously, but in the next moment turned his head, his lips uncontrollably curving up out of their sight.

Nora Scott: "..." Laugh yourself to death then!

A few seconds later, Pedro Langley returned to his original state, once again his cold and noble self.

Yet, his gaze inadvertently lingered on Nora Scott.

Nora Scott’s pursuit of things she was interested in but not skilled at was something Pedro Langley couldn’t understand.

Clearly a terrible photographer, yet relentlessly pursuing photography.

Clearly a poor actress, yet managed to stay in the circle for eight years.

All for the so-called: passion.

It seemed in her world, as long as she liked it, "giving up" simply didn’t exist.

The memory distant, still unable to recall what impression Montague left on her, Nora Scott couldn’t be bothered to dwell on it, and shifted the topic lightly, "Pursuing a master’s degree now?"

"Yes, a combined master’s and doctorate program." Montague said happily, "My current supervisor is Professor Duncan, and even now, he still talks about you from time to time."

"..."

Nora Scott silently put on her sunglasses.

"By the way, senior, you and..."

Montague glanced at Pedro Langley, but was met with two chilling gazes, cooling his excitement as he weakly asked, "You and your friend also came to see the exhibition?"

"Yes."

"Then I—"

Before Montague could finish his sentence, Nora Scott interrupted him, "We’re just looking around on our own, you go on with your work."

"Oh, okay." Montague nodded, reluctantly saying, "I’m just delivering some books, I’ll be back at the exhibition soon, feel free to come find me if you need anything."

"Okay."

"I’ll be off then..."

After taking two steps, Montague suddenly thought of something, took a step back, intently watching Nora Scott, and earnestly added, "No, senior, you must come find me, there’s a surprise!"

"...Alright." She would definitely avoid the Mechanical Engineering area.

It wasn’t that she had anything against Montague, just that she didn’t want to see "Professor Duncan" he mentioned.

Under the sunglasses, her long narrow eyes lowered slightly, after a few seconds, they raised again, her calm expression as always.

Pedro Langley slightly tilted his head, his gaze sweeping diagonally, capturing that touch of annoyance in her expression, and then he nonchalantly looked away.

...

The two mingled with the crowd and stepped through the entrance.

The exhibition hall was very spacious, almost the entire first floor was dedicated to this exhibition.

Nora Scott initially thought it was just for some student fun, at most involving other student groups from different schools, surprised it could attract such a crowd of onlookers.

Little did she expect, this robotics exhibition, although organized by the school, only featured a small portion from student teams, with the majority being external groups, including interest-based organizations, professional development teams, and branded companies participating.

The visitors here weren’t just casual tourists interested in the field, but also professionals, enthusiasts, and business people.

Definitely a large-scale exhibition in this field.

The level instantly skyrocketed.

However, it made sense... Only such a setup could warrant Pedro Langley’s personal visit.

Standing at the exhibition entrance, Nora Scott asked Pedro Langley with her hands in pockets, "How do you want to explore?"

"Strolling around."

"..." Nora Scott turned sideways, her gaze under the sunglasses shot straight at him, her voice chilly, "The weather’s cold enough."

Pedro Langley curved his lips slightly, "Let’s go."

It was clearly Nora Scott’s alma mater, yet he led the tour.

Nora Scott didn’t mind, she wasn’t very interested in these things anyway, just accompanying Pedro Langley around.

Hands in pockets, Nora Scott lazily followed behind Pedro Langley, occasionally her gaze lingered on intriguing robots, sometimes listening to a bit of professional explanation.

Whether she understood it was another matter.

Technology developed too fast, she was like a ’relic’ from the past, unable to keep up.

"Wanna eat?"

In a moment of distraction, Pedro Langley brought over a plate of fruit.

A small plastic plate in the palm of his hand, inside were a few cut fruits with two toothpicks stuck in.

The booth beside them had two intelligent machines, about arm height, one cutting fruit, the other transporting, well-organized. This seemed to be made by students, the program not very precise, needing personnel to oversee and ensure any mistakes during operation could be promptly corrected.

There were many similar booths, offering free fruits and snacks, getting them all would save a meal.

"Thanks."

Skewering half a strawberry into her mouth, Nora Scott frowned from the sourness.

Noticing the subtle expression under her sunglasses, Pedro Langley asked, "Too sour?"

Her eyebrow expression normalized, Nora Scott curled her lips, raised an eyebrow at him, "Sweet. Try it?"

"..."

With such a demeanor, Pedro Langley, initially just guessing, was now ninety percent sure.

He turned to leave.

"Hey!"

Pushing her sunglasses down, revealing eyes with a hint of laughter, Nora Scott skewered a piece of strawberry with the toothpick, directly offering it to Pedro Langley’s mouth, "Try it—"

Clearly knowing the strawberry was sour, but seeing the humor flowing in her eyes, Pedro Langley almost without thinking, opened his mouth to eat the strawberry.

The sour taste instantly spread throughout his mouth.

Yet, reflected in his eyes, her mischievous expression made his taste buds hint at sweetness deep down...

"How is it?"

Putting her sunglasses back in place, Nora Scott returned the toothpick.

The sourness lingered, Pedro Langley’s gaze deepened as he stared at her, his Adam’s apple rolling twice before he spat out one word, "Sweet."

Nora Scott was taken aback.

She intended to tease him further, but as her gaze swept past Pedro Langley’s shoulder, catching a glimpse of a surveying figure out of the corner of her eye, she pulled Pedro Langley’s arm without a moment of thought, stepping closer to him.

"Let’s go."

Her head slightly lowered, Nora Scott’s voice was low.

The sudden closeness, Pedro Langley slightly lowered his head, catching a whiff of her gentle scent. A faint smell, lingering at the tip of his nose, barely there, yet making one’s heart tremble.

He didn’t question further, cooperating to shield Nora Scott with his figure.

However, just after two steps—

"Nora Scott, stop right there!"
