Chapter 335: 335

Song Jinze selected three sets of formal gowns: an off-the-shoulder champagne-colored fishtail long dress with tulle sleeves, a light blue chiffon long dress, and a black strapless long dress accompanied by a light-colored fur shawl.

These three sets of gowns were the most conservative among all the gowns available, with no high slits, no particularly low necklines, and ample fabric both front and back. The only strapless dress came with a fur shawl.

Looking at these three gowns, Ye Zhenzhen thought that if she refused again, it might seem a bit affected.

As the president of a major group, Song Jinze would always have the money to buy his wife gowns, right? In the past, she had been single, earning and managing her own money, but now things were different. She seemed to have endless money to spend without earning it...

Having come to terms with this, she pointed to the black dress and asked the attendant, "Does this dress differ in size from the one I’m wearing?"

The attendant shook their head, "There’s no difference. The champagne one might be slightly larger; you might need to alter it at the waist after trying it. This black one is the same size as the one you’re wearing."

The only difference was that this gown was less revealing than the one Ye Zhenzhen was wearing.

Of course, the attendant wouldn’t mention this in front of Song Jinze.

"Then I’ll take this one."

Song Jinze walked over and nodded in approval, "I also think this one is nice."

It’s modest and warm.

"Fine, let’s pay, Mr. Song. I won’t try it on." She had worn this style of black gown in her previous life, and after trying on several, they all felt more or less the same; she found it bothersome.

Most importantly, she hadn’t had breakfast that morning when she was taking Xiao Chen and Shu Siyu to school, and now she felt a bit hungry and didn’t feel like moving.

Song Jinze’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, "Are you sure you won’t try it on?"

He couldn’t help but wonder if it was because she didn’t like the gowns he chose that she was so perfunctory, picking one randomly and not bothering to try it on.

Actually, he had been looking forward to watching her try on each dress and helping her decide which one suited her best.

Ye Zhenzhen shook her head, "No need, I’ll take this. They said all the sizes are the same; I don’t want to try it on."

Then, she touched her stomach and slightly pouted, "I’m hungry."

Song Jinze paused, then chuckled, "Alright, I’ll take you to eat."

"I’ll go change out of this dress."

By the time Ye Zhenzhen had changed and came down from the second floor, Song Jinze had already paid. He naturally took the black coat from her hands and put it on.

Then he took her hand just as naturally, "Let’s go."

Ye Zhenzhen’s eyes widened slightly, feeling the man’s large, warm hand. There was a tingling sensation filling her palm, spreading quickly along her arm and making her heart beat warmly...

In the parking lot.

Two attendants neatly placed the boxes they were carrying into the trunk and politely said their goodbyes to them.

Song Jinze opened the passenger door for her, waited for Ye Zhenzhen to get in, and then closed the door before going around to the driver’s side and getting in.

"What would you like for lunch?" he asked her.

"You decide."

Song Jinze turned his head, just in time to see her lips move as she spoke. He asked earnestly, "Are you angry?"

"Angry about what?" She was confused by his sudden question.

"About the gowns," he shared his thoughts.

Because she wasn’t happy with the gown selection, she seemed so indifferent, both in the store and now in the car, and even a little unhappy.

Ye Zhenzhen frowned slightly, trying to interpret the meaning behind his words—where had she shown any anger?

"Hmm..."

She thought seriously, "If you’re talking about the gown, I think the first one I tried on looked better. It had a high slit that made my legs look long and the tube top was pretty, and most importantly, wearing that gown would make it easier to stand out. The ones you picked are nice too, but they’re not enough..."

Before she could finish, Ye Zhenzhen felt a shadow loom over her, "You..."

Song Jinze leaned in a bit closer, his eyes taking on a chill as he lifted her chin with his finger, his lips barely moving, "Not enough what?"

Ye Zhenzhen blinked, "Not enough..."

The two words she left unsaid were cut off as her lips were captured by the man’s kiss...

A faint fragrance diffused in her mouth, spreading to every corner, as his kiss turned from gentle to fervent...

Her heart thudded wildly, her whole body stiffening as she trembled slightly, her arms weakening as she tried to push him away, yet feeling powerless.

After a long while, Song Jinze slowly stopped, his eyes darkened, his voice hoarse, "Not enough what? Say it again?"

His tone was clearly threatening.

Ye Zhenzhen blinked her watery eyes, pouting unhappily, "If I say it again, are you just looking for an excuse to kiss me?"

Song Jinze raised an eyebrow, "You could try again."

Ye Zhenzhen placed her hand over her mouth, "I’m not falling for your tricks; get up, you’re making it hard for me to breathe."

His sudden kiss had left her a bit stupefied.

She wasn’t clear about her feelings at the moment, her face showing a mixture of annoyance and embarrassment.

With a scoff, he laughed softly, kissed her forehead again, then pulled the seatbelt over her and fastened it.

After he sat back in the driver’s seat, he spoke indifferently, "Ye Zhenzhen, you’re married, you’re my wife, Song Jinze’s wife, you don’t need to wear such revealing gowns to increase exposure."

Ye Zhenzhen: ...

He knew what she was about to say!

Was this man angry?

So that was why...
