Overlord: Welcoming the Birth of the King
Chapter 50: Half a Month, Impact!

Time passed day by day!

Under the leadership of the ogre lord Woodfruit, a large number of goblin tribes were annihilated, all turning into experience points that continuously raised Tang Zheng’s level.

The air in the outer regions began to fill with a bloody stench, and even the forest grew quiet; the usually dense bird songs suddenly became much fewer.

Late Wind Month, June 29.

Splash!

Water splashed.

Tang Zheng surfaced from a small river, swimming to the shore and enjoying a refreshing bath.

Although he possessed the “No Scent” magic, which could eliminate his own smell, it only removed the scent—it was nowhere near as comfortable and clean as taking a proper bath.

The ogre lord Woodfruit was indeed very familiar with this outer area.

Stepping onto the shore,

Tang Zheng took out a clean set of clothes, wiped the water droplets off his body, and then put on a brand-new outfit.

Then, he plopped down in front of a pot of steaming meat soup that was placed on the campfire.

“Sss.”

Tang Zheng took a sip of the meat soup and let out a satisfied sound.

The flavor of the soup was simple.

But in such an environment, it was already very good—at least taking a bath and drinking some hot soup made one’s mood quite pleasant.

Of course,

the level increase had kept Tang Zheng in a fairly good mood these days.

However, the other party was completely the opposite.

The ogre lord Woodfruit lay prone on the ground not far away; both of his feet had been simultaneously crushed, so he could only lie down.

“No, can, kill more.”

“Can’t kill anymore, Human Lord.”

“Please, don’t, kill anymore.”

“Can’t kill anymore…”

“Too many goblins have died.”

Ogre lord Woodfruit kept letting out weak wails and pleas on the ground.

Faced with these sounds,

Tang Zheng was already accustomed to them, expressionless as he continued savoring the meat soup.

The wailing of Woodfruit seemed to be pleading for those dead goblins, but that was far from the truth.

To be exact!

Although they belonged to the same race, in the eyes of the ogre lords, ordinary goblins were not considered part of their race except for their ability to breed with them—they were just a bunch of inferior creatures.

For a race that regarded even their own kind as food, there was no pity for these lower beings.

The real reason for Woodfruit’s cries was that with so many goblins slain, when winter came, there would be no large number of goblins left as stored food.

Their ogre lord clan might very well become the food of the ogres!

That was the only thing Woodfruit was wailing about.

“Shut up.”

Tang Zheng swallowed the meat soup in his mouth and said lightly.

Woodfruit’s wails immediately stopped; he closed his mouth, his black pupils full of grievance and weakness.

Smack!

A piece of well-cooked wild boar meat was thrown by Tang Zheng.

The muddy cooked wild boar meat rolled on the ground a few times and appeared in Woodfruit’s field of vision.

The next moment!

The fear and grievance on Woodfruit’s face and in his eyes vanished, replaced by a wild greed.

With both hands clawing the ground, he quickly crawled over!

Then,

drooling from his mouth, showing yellowed and uneven sharp teeth, Woodfruit bit into the wild boar meat he was clutching tightly with both hands.

At this moment, there was no trace left of the pitiful appearance from before.

“Survival of the fittest, natural selection—this has always been the norm in the forest.”

Tang Zheng lifted the meat soup again and took another sip. “Disguise is merely another survival method.”

…………

E-Rantel.

The Adventurers Guild’s top floor, the third floor.

A large room.

The decor was simple, without any luxurious items. Only a few shields and swords hung on the walls, covered in gaps and various scars, silently telling the extraordinary history of these weapons.

Because of these scarred weapons, the somewhat plain and simple room was filled with a rugged, adventurous atmosphere.

By the ancient, long wooden table, three figures sat.

A middle-aged man with gray-white hair, wrinkles at the corners of his eyes and on his forehead, looking to be in his forties, sat on the left side of the wooden table.

Although older, his gaze was sharp. His loose clothing barely concealed the strong muscles and power throughout his body.

Especially those calloused, rough hands that quietly told others he was very skilled in using weapons.

At this moment, in those rough hands was a delicate silver container, whose liquid inside continuously emitted a faint chill despite the hot June weather.

Opposite the middle-aged man sat a slender, somewhat capable-looking mage in a magical robe, flipping through a piece of intelligence in hand.

Besides these two, the person sitting at the head of the table was a fat man.

His bald head, chubby chin, and bloated belly made him look as if he had sunk into the chair.

Especially now, leaning back against the wooden chair, with his chin buried in the folds of fat on his neck, he was dozing off; every few breaths, a “pfft” sound came from his nostrils.

He looked exactly like a fat pig.

But he wore a deep red velvet jacket, a blue suit vest with gold buttons underneath, and a pure white shirt as the base layer.

Especially around his neck was a pure golden tie that looked like silk, embedded with a ruby that faintly glowed red in the sunlight.

Such luxurious attire clearly indicated that this fat man’s identity was no simple one.

If the people of E-Rantel saw these three sitting together, they would be extremely shocked.

Because these three at the table were the three highest-ranking individuals in the entire city of E-Rantel.

The middle-aged man was Burton Einzak, chairman of the E-Rantel Adventurers Guild.

The mage in the robe was Theo Lachiel, chairman of the E-Rantel Mage Guild.

And the city mayor, a noble of the kingdom, Panasole Gruze Dale Retinmaya!

After a brief silence in the room,

Einzak, the Adventurers Guild chairman, gently put down the silver magical container in his hands and looked up at the apparently sleeping mayor.

“Your Excellency, Mayor.”

Einzak’s expression was somewhat serious, but his voice was gentle.

The “pfft” sound stopped abruptly.

City Mayor Panasole opened his eyes; due to his obesity, his eyelids were shrunken, making it impossible for outsiders to read any emotion in his narrowed eyes.
