Chapter 547: So it’s you Chapter 547: So it’s you Although Victoria Garcia really dislikes it, since so many things like this have happened lately, she feels a bit uneasy.

“How long do I have to live like this?” Victoria couldn’t help but grumble.

Arnold Johnson glanced at her and said with a mischievous smile, “Until you marry me.”

“Are you sure?” Victoria couldn’t help but question, “After I marry you, all your enemies will know I’m your wife. If they want to threaten you, they can just kidnap me.”

“Hmm, seems you’re quite clever after all.”

Was this seriously a compliment?

Anyone could think of that, okay?

Arnold continued, “Or, we can play a game where we pretend not to love each other on the surface. How about that?”

“Really?” Victoria’s face was filled with excitement.

Are you sure you want to play?

Seeing that she didn’t appear to be disappointed at all, Arnold immediately changed his tune, “You’d better give up the idea of chasing other men, just remember, you’re Madam Johnson.”

Feeling his jealousy, Victoria only wanted to tease him.

Who knew, he couldn’t take a joke.

If she really was boy-crazy, there would be a swarm of suitors around her; instead, there’s only one, Alexander Mitchell.

“What’s the fun in that then?” Victoria pouted.

Arnold seemed enthusiastic, though, “You can play with me!”

Upon hearing this, Victoria looked at him carefully and couldn’t believe that such words came out of his mouth.

Of course.

From another perspective.

Arnold was someone who could say or do anything.

While the two bantered, Arnold brought Victoria to her office before going to his own company. They met up with Candy Foster, and Arnold watched them until they entered the building.

Victoria and Candy chatted about work as they walked.

“General Garcia, you have a Tiki Country client scheduled for this morning to discuss a potential partnership. If you don’t want to meet them today, I can cancel in advance,” Candy said, worrying that Victoria hadn’t had enough rest.

Of course, Victoria didn’t think so.

If she came to work, it meant she was ready and willing.

“No need to cancel. What time did you set the meeting?”

Candy replied, “Eleven o’clock. I booked a private dining room at Four Seasons Dining of Metropolis for twelve o’clock. If the meeting goes well, we can all go for lunch. If things are just okay, leave the venue to the other party.”

This way, regardless of the outcome, their hospitality would be abundant and everything would be arranged thoughtfully.

“Alright, give me a summary of the sales figures and popular styles from all the jewelry stores these past two days,” Victoria directed.

Candy hesitated before saying, “General Garcia, your office has been connected to the one next door. I’m now sharing the space with you, but I did put up a curtain between us.”

She explained further, “I wanted to tell you yesterday, but I didn’t want to disturb your rest, so I just…”

Naturally, Arnold was behind this arrangement, and it happened faster than she had expected.

“That’s fine, just do as you’ve arranged,” Victoria wouldn’t make things difficult for Candy, who was trying to protect her.

“Thank you, General Garcia,” Candy was almost moved to tears.

Unexpectedly, Victoria didn’t cause any problems.

Everybody knew, Victoria didn’t like people following her closely.

Of course, no one enjoys the feeling of being watched 24/7.
