Chapter 538: Location 6 Chapter 538: Location 6 Victoria laughed and said, “The barbecue does taste good, but I still think the steak you made for me last time was better.”

“Then I’ll make it for you whenever you want,” Arnold looked at her affectionately, completely disregarding the presence of others around them.

Who cares if others find it unpleasant, especially when this person is half a love rival.

Edward Hernandez saving Victoria’s life was one thing, and their feelings were another matter.

Arnold was clear about the distinction between these issues.

There are some things one could be grateful for, and some things to share, but women are the only exception. Others should not even think about it. If someone else even fancies having Arnold’s woman, he would be unhappy, let alone touching her.

“I never expected that Mr. Johnson could cook,” Edward Hernandez didn’t seem to mind their interaction, and acted as naturally as if he were an old friend discovering something new.

“Well, you have to please a woman’s stomach before you can win her heart.”

Victoria watched his smug expression and decided to play along, praising him even more. Besides, Arnold’s cooking was actually not bad at all.

“You must have put a lot of thought into this. I wonder how many women’s stomachs you’ve pleased,” Victoria joked.

It was evident that the two of them were quite close, and their conversation flowed naturally and was filled with warmth and harmony.

“You are the only one who has tasted my cooking till now,” Arnold didn’t forget to ask, “Are you a little moved by it?”

“Yes, I’m so touched I might cry,” Victoria replied, then fed Arnold a piece of barbecue she had just wrapped.

Arnold felt like his heart was melting.

Showing their affection in front of a love rival felt so great.

How come he didn’t realize it before?

Of course, there were no love rivals daring enough to appear in front of Arnold in the past.

Edward Hernandez was the first one.

Victoria picked up her drink and turned to Edward, “Mr. Hernandez, we’re truly grateful to you today. If it weren’t for you, I might not have been able to sit here and enjoy this barbecue with you guys. Let’s toast with our drinks, shall we?”

Arnold also raised his drink and added, “Yes, both of us, husband and wife, want to thank you together!”

Hearing them called themselves husband and wife made Edward feel a little uncomfortable.

After all, they were not married!

“Mr. Johnson, it’s fine for Miss Garcia to drink soft drinks as she’s a lady, but as two grown men, we should have some alcohol that pairs better with the barbecue, don’t you think?”

Challenging him to drink?

Who’s afraid of whom?

“Since Mr. Hernandez feels like it, I’ll be happy to accompany you till the end,” Arnold pressed the bell, signaling the waiter to bring some alcohol.

Usually, when Arnold and Victoria ate together, they didn’t order alcohol. If they drank at all, it was only a low-alcohol red wine.

Ever since Victoria got drunk once, Arnold only allowed her to drink a little at home.

Not because he despised her, but because he worried that she might get kidnapped by someone while being drunk.

It really worried him too much.

When the waiter asked whether they wanted red or white wine, Arnold inquired about Edward’s preference.

Edward directly replied, “White, do you mind?”

“No problem, let’s go with white.”

Of course, Arnold wouldn’t be scared.

The waiter quickly brought the wine, opened it, and poured it for both of them. He then asked, “Do you want the full-service of wine pouring throughout the meal?”

Arnold waved his hand, “No, thank you!”

No matter what, Edward did appreciate a gentleman.
